Mrs. Deborah S. King, 46, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, 2001, in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of Lynn Haven, Mrs. King was a child care worker at Lynn Haven Child Care and was a member of First Baptist of Lynn Haven where she was very active with the youth group. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her father, Bob Leonard, and her brother, Ray Leonard. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nina Leonard of Lynn Haven; husband, William "Bill" King of Lynn Haven; son, Derek Allen King of Lynn Havne; daughter, Alicia King of Lynn Haven; grandchild, Cameron Wilson of Lynn Haven; brother, Ronald Leonard and wife Nancy of Ponta Gorda, Fla.; sister, Jennette Leonard and husband Jerry Piel of San Francisco, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. King will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist of Lynn Haven with the Rev. Christopher Fillingim, the Rev. Jim Kirkland, and the Rev. Esmond Hilton officiating with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, Jan. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral hom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven Youth Department in memory of Mrs. King.

DORIS SAMPLE LOGAN
Doris Sample Logan, age 44, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Jan. 12, 2001. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m., in Johns-Ridout's Chapel, with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at 3 p.m., Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Panama City.

JOHN ALBERT NOWLIN
Capt. John Albert Nowlin, 67, of Callaway, Fla., died Tuesday morning, Jan 16, 2001, in Bay Medical Center. He was born in Bay County, Fla., on April 5, 1933, and lived here all his life. He worked in the commercial fishing industry from a very early age and was a captain for approximately 50 years. He served his country as a sergeant 1st class in the Korean Conflict obtaining two Bronze Stars, a Bronze Star Cluster, the National Defense Service Medal and one Medal of Honor. He was also a member of VFW Post No. 8205. His father, John Herman Nowlin and three brothers, Gerald Evans, Andy Nowlin and Hollis Nowlin, precede him in death. Capt. Nowlin is survived by his mother, Tommie Darling Nowlin of Panama City; and two brothers, Howard Nowlin of Morgan City, La., and W.J. Evans of Crestview. He married Mavis Christine Long on May 29, 1953, and they have four children, Elizabeth Diane Nowlin of Callaway, Steve Anthony Nowlin of Panama City Beach, James Paul Nowlin and wife Darlene, Billie Jean Ard and husband Ricky, all of Panama City; grandchildren, Adam Clark, Becky Mobbs, James Paul Nowlin II, Samantha Miller, O'Sheena Nowlin and Brittney Nowlin; great-grandchildren, Kayla Nowlin, Michael Clark, Shawn Mobbs, Branden Mobbs and Karmyn Miller and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Broom and Dr. Larry Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Callaway Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers: Feenie Whitfield, Robert Myers, Richard Anderson, Jeremy Ard, Carl Roberts and Lewis Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Melvin, Wayne Roberts, Wendall Sauls, Earl Roberts, Lamar Lowe, Tommy Clark. The family headquarters will be at the home of Billy Jean Ard at 230 Main Ave., Millville, Fla.

EUGENE E. OGREN
Mr. Eugene E. Ogren, age 90 of 3014 Lanny Lane, Panama City, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, after a short illness. He had been a resident of the area since 1980, coming here from Chicago, Ill. Mr. Ogren was retired from Westinghouse in 1972 as a sales manager and was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, golf, boating, dancing and playing cards. Mr. Ogren is survived by his sons, James Howard Ogren and his wife Louise of Marble Falls, Texas and Thomas Eugene Ogren and his wife Cathy of Shrewsbury, Mass.; a daughter, Barbara Firszt and her husband Anthony of Lady Lakes, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Steven, Vicky, Susan, Pam, Jim, Linda, Richard and Beth; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ogren in March 2000. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment will follow. Mary Molly Lee Patterson, age 92, of 6420 Oakenshaw Drive, Youngstown, Fla., died Jan. 15, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m., at Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, with the Rev. J. W. Hunt and the Rev. James Bargdon officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny William Patterson. Survivors include two sons, James Edward Patterson, Lake Hamilton, Fla., and Collie D. McCall, Panama City; daughters, Lila McManus, Panama City and Martha Coronado, Youngstown; stepson, Junior Patterson, Columbus, Ga.; stepdaughter, Floy Sellers, Bonifay; 23 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

GEORGIA KIRBY TALLEY
Georgia Kirby Talley, 87, formerly of 6625 Gulf Drive, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Jan. 4, 2001, in a Tampa hospital. She is survived by sons, Kirby and Pick II and his wife Pam, and daughter Robyn Rudell and her husband Elliott; and grandchildren, John and Summer Talley, Liberty Worth and her husband Jay and Victory Rudell. A native of East Orange, N.J., she had been a resident of Bay County, Fla., since 1962, when her husband was stationed at Tyndall A.F.B. She was retired from Civil Service and was a member of St. Andrews Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Panama City Duplicate Bridge Club and the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Pick. According to her wishes, a family service will be held in Panama City Beach at a later date.

Mrs. Dawn K. Bryan, 58, of 7508 Bowser Rd., Donalsonville, Ga., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at her cousin's home. Born in Lagrange, Ga., she moved here four months ago from Donalsonville, Ga. She was the owner/operator of Southern Publishing Company and Frogville Printer of Lynn Haven for approximately 30 years. She was Church of Christ by faith. Her husband, Thomas B. Bryan precedes her in death. Mrs. Bryan is survived by three cousins: Annette Peters and husband Herbert of Callaway, Gloria Faughnan and husband David of Sopchoppy and John Mikiel Williams and wife LaVone of Woodstock, Ga. Graveside funeral services will be held today, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. in Lynn Haven Cemetery with Minister Jack Reece officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida in memory of Mrs. Bryan. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the nurses and doctors of Bay Medical Center as well as Hospice of Northwest Florida.

LOTTIE DAVENPORT
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lottie Davenport, 84, 806 Harris Avenue, who died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in a local hospital, will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Hamilton III officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Redwood Cemetery. Sister Davenport moved to Bay County at an early age and joined New Judson Baptist Church, and later became a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder R.B. Ivey. She was married to the late Tommy Davenport Sr. and to this union six children were born. Minor Charles Davenport preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories, four loving daughters: Gracie (Robert) Atkinson, Mamie (Thomas) Reed, Annette (Kenny) Turntine; a son, Tommy Davenport Jr., all of Panama City; a sister, Mrs. Eva Holmes of Cottonwood, Ala.; two brothers-in-law, King Davenport and Reene Colbert both of Tampa; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren; three special cousins: Annie Lee Gage, Enna Mae Johnson of Crestview, Fla., and Samuel Holmes of Tampa; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

CATHERINE OWEN DENMAN
Mrs. Catherine Owen Denman, age 84, of 4078 Woodridge Rd., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at her home. A native of Atlanta, Ga., she had been a resident of the area since June of 1989, moving here from Fernandina Beach, Fla., where she had lived for thirteen years. Mrs. Denman was the secretary to the chairman of the board for CNS National Bank and retired in 1975. She was a member of Cook Memorial Baptist Church and the Auxiliary of the Gideons International. She had been involved with Gideons International for 20 years in keeping with her passion for spreading the Word. Mrs. Denman was an avid reader and an astute businesswoman. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Morris W. Denman Sr. of Panama City; sons: Morris W. Denman Jr. and his wife Sue of Lynn Haven, David O. Denman of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Christopher L. Denman of Atlanta; eight grandchildren: Sheri Hart and her husband Chip of Lynn Haven , Marci Vaughn and her husband Jed of Orlando, David Denman Jr., Wendy Brune and her husband Adam, and Christopher Denman, all of Atlanta, Michelle Tyre and her husband Trey of South Dakota, Nicholas Denman of Atlanta, and Sara Elizabeth Denman of Lynn Haven; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roy Crowe of Parkview Baptist Church in Eufaula, Ala., officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Chip Hart, Jed Vaughn, Christopher Denman, Nicholas Denman, David Denman Jr. and Ray Murphy. DONNA B. HOWARD
Mrs. Donna B. Howard, age 49, of 7591 Peach Street, Howard's Creek, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001. She had been a resident of the Panama City area for most of her life before moving to Howard's Creek three years ago. Mrs. Howard was a devoted wife, mother, and "nana" who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and fishing and was a member of Howard Creek Baptist Church. She worked as an accountant and office manager for the Richard Money Construction Company of Southport for seven years. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Allen Howard of Howard's Creek; daughters: Holly Whitmire and her husband George of Panama City, Shelley Dyment and her fiance Charlie Hill of Panama City, her parents, John and Fern Usher of Panama City; sisters, Linda Jane Markham of Panama City and Marie Mickronis of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Robert Markham of Panama City Beach; grandchildren: Emily Rae Dyment, Nataley Leona Dyment, Evan Allen Whitmire; brothers-in-law: Buddy Moore of Ft. Myers, Ronnie Howard and Ray Howard, both of Panama City; sisters-in-law: Barbara McDowell, Jackie Howard, and Marsh Howard all of Panama City; and a niece, Ashley Markham. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Holly Whitmire. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
