PEYTON SIERRA ARBUTHNOT
Peyton Sierra Arubuthnot, infant daughter of Jennifer Lynn and Michael Arbuthnot of Lynn Haven, Fla., died March 31, 2001, at a local hospital. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters: Kayla Arbuthnot of Lynn Haven and Laken Phillips of Hampton, Va.; her maternal grandparents, Joel and Glenda Brown of Southport; and Lonnie and Norma Pippins of DeFuniak Springs; her paternal grandparents, Samuel and Paulette Arbuthnot of North Lauderdale, Fla.; and several aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at the Gardens of Memories Cemetary with Rev. Jack Hankins officiating.

BETTY JANE DAWLEY
Mrs. Betty Jane Dawley, age 81, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 30, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a native of Clearfield, Penn., and had lived in Panama City since 1979, moving here from Oberlin, Ohio. Mrs. Dawley attended Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in 1938 and 1939 where she met and married her late husband Gordon C. Dawley, who died in 1993. She was a retired elementary school librarian and was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Dawley is survived by a son, Allen P. Dawley and his wife Peggy Anne of Palm City, Fla.; a daughter, Karolyn Dawley of Panama City Beach; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 10 a.m. at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, April 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. The family requests that contributions may be made to the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church Building Fund, 510 W. 10th St., Lynn Haven, Fla. 32444.

FRANCES ADLER GANS
Mrs. Frances Adler Gans, age 85, of the Mathison Retirement Home in Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 31, at a local hospital. She was a native of Albany, Ga., where she graduated from Albany High School. She then went to Washington, D.C., where she attended the Marjorie Webster School. She moved to Panama City in 1950 from New York City with her husband Buddy Gans to found Panama Beverage Company, which remained in Panama City until its sale in 1999. During that time, she was an avid businessperson and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired from Panama Beverage in 1997 due to health reasons, but never lost her love for the business and all present and former employees. She is survived by one son: Robert Gans and his wife June of Panama City Beach; two grandchildren: Kevin Maxwell Gans and Missy Boyett; her nephews: Ben Adler and wife GayLynn and daughters, Jenna and Karen of Albany; and Michael Gans, his wife Kelly, and son Max of Los Angeles, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell "Buddy" Gans and her son Rusty Gans. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rabbi Larry Mahrer officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Gary Anderson, John L. Gheesling, John L. Gheesling, III, Charles Weathersby, Dennis Evans and Rick Spitler. Honorary pallbearers will be all former employees of Panama Beverage Company. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. A. Bishop Harvout, age 75, of 207 Oleander Court, Panama City Beach, died Friday, March 30, at his residence. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and had lived here since 1983. He was a member of the Pleasant Bridge Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, and a member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Constance Harvout of Panama City Beach, a daughter, Sharon Horn and husband Joe of Cincinnati; one sister, Cora Belle Backscheider and husband Ralph of Cincinnati. Services will be held at a later date in Cincinnati.

JULIAN L. IUS
Mr. Julian L. Ius, age 69, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, March 26, 2001. He had been a resident of the area since 1985, coming here from Germany. Mr. Ius was born in Northern Italy and came to America when he was seven years old. He was a graduate of Ohio State University and an avid golfer. Mr. Ius was a Civil Engineer for the Department of Defense for the U.S. Air Force for 15 years in Germany. He then was assigned to Tyndall Air Force Base in 1985, where he worked in the engineering department until his retirement. Mr. Ius is survived by his wife, Barbara C. Ius of Panama City; a son, Randall C. Ius and his wife Pat of Claremont, Fla.; a daughter, Julie A. Orr and her husband Brian of Palm Desert, Calif.; a son, Michael J. Ius and his wife Claudia of Austin, Texas; a stepdaughter, Catherine J. Cassin and her husband Christopher of Hinsdale, Ill.; and a brother, Joseph M. Ius and his wife Carol of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Angela Ius of Columbus, Ohio. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church. Interment will be held at a later date in Columbus, Ohio.

WILLIAM FOY 'MOOG' OGBURN
Mr. William Foy "Moog" Ogburn, age 88 of Howard's Creek, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. Born April 3, 1912, he was a life-long resident of Bay county retiring to Howard's Creek. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, and was a milk truck driver for Borden's Dairy for many years. He had managed the Lower Landing at Howard's Creek since 1981. He is survived by one son, Al Ogburn and his wife Judy of Pensacola; two grandchildren, Ashley and Kim; two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Logan; one brother, Doris Ogburn of Ocala; two sisters, Mary Locke and husband William and Sarah Berry, all of Panama City, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, at 4 p.m. at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Ask to serve as pallbearers are John Mitchell, Leland Warren, Carl Johnson, Randy Weston, Charlie Smith, and Glen Branton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, April 1 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and will be staying at the home of Mary Locke, 1111 Hickory Ave., Panama City.

Jonathan A.C. Stringfellow passed away shortly after birth Friday, March 30, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stringfellow; grandparents, Bobbie and Elwood Sandridge, and Carol and Charles Stringfellow; great-grandparents, David Jackson, C.J. Land all of Wewahitchka, Fla., and Louise Guilford of Tallahassee; aunt, Melissa Owens, and uncle, Greg Sandridge, both of Wewahitchka. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. CDT at Roberts Cemetery, with the Rev. Doug Dodson presiding. Interment will follow.

JOSEPH T. WEATHERS, SR.
Mr. Joseph T. Weathers, Sr., age 93, of Clermont, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 30, 2001, at a hospital in the Clermont area. He had lived in Clermont for the past 15 years and had previously lived in Panama City. Mr. Weathers was a retired minister and a member of The Church of God of Prophecy. He is survived by one daughter, Vivian E. Pittman of Clermont; two sons, Joseph T. Weathers, Jr. of Spring valley, N.Y.; and Elbert J. Weathers of Panama City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 1, at 2 p.m., at the Grace Fellowship Church, Highway 22-A, with the Rev. Mikey Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

DOROTHY PERKINS CONKLIN DEVEREAUX
Dorothy Perkins Conklin Devereaux, 91, passed away March 28, 2001, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City. She was a native of Wellington, Ohio and had most recently lived in Lynn Haven. A homemaker and seamstress, she was active in her church, community and local schools. Mrs. Devereaux was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellington. A soprano, she sang at many church services. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Stars and belonged to the Business Professional Women's Club and the Herrick Unite sewing club. Mrs. Devereaux was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Clair Devereaux; her parents, John and Flossie Conklin; brothers, Robert Conklin and Merlin Conklin; and her daughter-in-law, Sylvia Smith Devereaux. She is survived by four sons: Ralph Devereaux of Grafton, Ohio, John Devereaux and wife, Joy of Wellington; Earl Devereaux and wife, Ruth of Wellington, and Paul Devereaux of Terra Ceia, Fla.; one daughter, Anne D. Funk of Lynn Haven; brother, George Conklin of Wellington; three sisters: Ella May Whitehead and husband, William of Bellevue, Ohio; Ruth McDonald of W. Covina, Calif., and Lola Bowditch of Southport; and one aunt, Helen Sherman of Elyria, Ohio. She was the beloved grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs. Devereaux will be held in Wellington at a later date. Interment will then follow at the Wellington Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mrs. Devereaux, may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Wellington.

Mr. Charles E. Dotson, 69, of Panama City died Saturday, March 31, at his home. He had been a resident since 1968. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He then worked 20 years in Civil Service at Tyndall Air Force Base. Charlie was an active member of the Panama City Moose Lodge No. 1389. BPOE Elks Lodge No. 1598, VFW Post No. 2185 and Parker Masonic Lodge No. 142. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marie Dotson; two daughters, Tina Menna and her husband, Michael and Kenata Harris and her husband, Frank; a son, Charles E. (Chuck) Dotson Jr. and his fiancÚ, Lisa Fitzimmons; nine grandchildren: Brad, Michael, Nicholas, Jeremy, Hailey, Frankie, Christina, Montana and Joey, all of Panama City; three sisters: Merle Newman of Jackson, Miss., Martha Farley and her husband, Charles of Pearl, Miss., and Cheryl Hannon and her husband, Phil of Jackson, Miss.; a brother, Pat Dotson of Crystal Springs, Miss.; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. The family would like to express special thanks to doctors Randy Morris, Syed Mahmood and Bobbie Baker, and for special care given by Rita Spikes and Tommy Hagan of Hospice of the Emerald Coast. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with full military honors at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Those desiring to, may make a donation to Hospice of the Emerald Coast in memory of Charles Dotson.

Mrs. Dolores Gerlecz, 72, of Lynn Haven, passed away Friday March 30, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a native of Sedalia, Mo., and had lived in Lynn Haven for 141/2 years. She was a member of The Rock Church. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Steven M. Gerlecz and wife, Cheryl of Panama City, and Dr. Joseph M. Gerlecz and wife, Ellen of Lynn Haven; her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Mark, Katharine, Joseph Mark Jr., and Sarah Beth; two brothers, Marvin F. Hanigan of Ponte Vedre, Fla., and Michael L. Hanigan of Andover, Mass. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, from the Rock Church with Apostle F. Nolan Ball officiating. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Mackey, Robert Staats, Stephen Melvin, Al Cobb, Charles Woods and Pastor Todd Muner. Burial will take place Friday, April 6, 2001, in Sedalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 2, 2001.
