Louise Olliff Smith, 90, of 801 Florida Ave., Panama City, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, in her home. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Smith of Panama City; daughter, Martha Ellen Swann and her husband Joel of Maitland, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jo Ellen McLean and her husband Joe and Mike Swann; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Walters of Troy, Ala. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

IRIS JANE DARLING ALLEN
A beautiful life came to a close Aug. 30, 2001, and it is with much sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, Sister Iris Jane Darling Allen. Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be held today, Sept. 6, 2001, at 11 a.m. in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Lemuel D. Glover Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery in Washington County. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. AMOS HERBERT DAVIS
Mr. Amos Herbert Davis, age 78, of 407 Timber Lane, Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at his home. He was born July 28, 1923, to Amos Herbert and Lillian Davis in Murphysboro, Ill. Mr. Davis formerly lived in Peoria, Ill., and Cuba, Ill. He was a vice president with Kiefer Electrical Supply from 1978 until 1988, vice president of AZCO Inc. from 1978 until 1979, vice president of Freeman United Coal Mining Co. from 1976 until 1978, and plant manager, vice president, and president of Central Illinois Light Co. from 1948 until 1976. Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and World War II. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Cluster, Purple Heart and Cluster, Combat Infantry Badge, and eight Battle Stars. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Carolyn Davis of Panama City; his children, John Davis of Peoria, Ann Davis of Atlanta, Ga., Brad Freeman and his wife Cindi of Norwalk, Iowa, Kirk Freeman and his wife Nurhyhat of Geneva, Switzerland, and Gregg Freeman and his wife April of Lee's Summit, Mo.; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kimberly, Zacc, Jessie, Thaddeus, Scott and Mike; and a sister, Thelma Switzer of Seal Beach, Calif. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Leah Golliher and Stella Heidler. Memorials may be made in Mr. Davis' name to Zion Cemetery, c/o Nancy Siefert, 223 N. 18th St., Murphysboro, Ill. 62966.

KATHY BOYKIN LEGER
Kathy Boykin Leger can rest in peace in eternal happiness after being taken from us suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001. She was a native of Pensacola and had lived in Panama City for the last eight months, moving here from Gulf Breeze. She was a very loving person with a kind heart, always bringing happiness to those around her. She was blessed with a sense of humor that enabled her to bring joy to everyone she touched. Kathy was a beloved daughter, devoted mother and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her son, Kenneth Mourain of Gulf Breeze; mother, Norma Boykin Estis of Pensacola; sisters, Nancy Boykin Scheer (Robert) of Mobile, Ala., Terri Boykin Russell (Peter) of Foley, Ala., Annette Boykin Smith of Pensacola; brother, James Edward Estis of Pensacola. She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Boykin. A memorial service will be held at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home, 124 W. Gregory St., Pensacola, today, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.

Bryan Palmer McClamma, age 86, died in his sleep early Tuesday morning at Bay Medical Center. He was a native of Tallahassee, Fla. Visitation will be held at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Sept. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Springfield Community Church at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, with the Rev. Carl Curti officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Panama City.

Funeral services for Vera Jo Mills, 65, of 9339 Franklin Drive, Fountain, Fla., who was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, will be held today at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Mills' sons. The family will be at the home of Joe Don Mills, 2022 Forest Ave., Panama City, after the funeral service.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church in Panama City and Wesley Sunday School class. She was a member of the Panama City Women's Club, the Panama City Garden Club and she served on the Board of Directors of Anchorage Children's Home. In addition, she was a charter member of the Little Theater and was a former Bay High School drama teacher. Later, she organized the Child Service Center to provide clothing to needy students. She was a member of the National Societies of Colonial Dames and D.A.R. and a grand master of Contract Bridge. Sept. 9 would have been Louise and Tommy's 67th wedding anniversary. Louise is survived by her husband, Tommy; her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Joel Swann of Maitland, Fla.; grandchildren, Mike Swann, and Joe and Joellen Swann McLean, all of Winter Park; and great-grandchildren, Carter and Katelyn Swann, and Meghan and Martha Grace McLean; sister, Elinor Walters of Macon, Ga.; loving caregivers, Linda McMasters, Nancy Sherman, and Oki Harrison; and numerous dear friends in Bay County and elsewhere. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Warren, the Rev. Johnny Johnson, and the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Anchorage Children's Home, Bay County Council on Aging or the American Cancer Society in memory of Louise Smith.

LENA EVA WILLIAMS
Lena Eva Williams, 78, of Panama City, was heaven bound on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a native of Bainbridge, Ga. Mrs. Williams lived most of her life in Donalsonville, Ga., and moved to Bay County, where she resided for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker, and was affectionately known as "Little Bit," and loved to fish. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Williams; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Joel Brown, Nancy and Del Rice; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Buddy and Mary Ann Donalson and Danny Williams; five sisters, Sam Modrak, Katherine Gresham, Jane Finch, Marry Chatrow and Pat Smith; and three grandsons, Jason Brown, John Rice and Jerry Paul Williams. The family requests memorialization by cremation. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the American Cancer Society or their favorite charity.

Mrs. Wyoma Brown, 57, of Vernon, Fla., passed away Sept. 5, 2001 in Bay Medical Center, Panama City, Fla. She was a native of Ponce de Leon, Fla., and a long-time resident of Vernon. She was of the Holiness faith. Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at McQueens Temple near Ebro with Elder Jackie Brown, the Rev. Dinks Jr., and the Rev. Carson Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery Vernon with Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley directing. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Jimmy Brown of Vernon; three daughters: Caron Brown, Thawanna Brown both of Jacksonville and Amy Kelvin Peterson of Bonifay; three sons: Dewayne Bowers of Panama City, Stacey (Stephanie) Brown of Chipley and Demetris (Amanda) Brown of Bonifay; three sisters: Marilyn Hogans of Ponce de Leon, Shirley Peterson of Pensacola and Blondell Elder Jackie Brown of Ebro and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 7 in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.

HILDEGARD FRANZISKA MARCHISIN
Hildegard Franziska Marchisin, 83, of 2439 Pretty Bayou Blvd., Panama City, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001. She was born in Germany and moved to the United States when she was 13. She had been a resident of Bay County for 15 years, moving here from Cape Cod, Mass. She was a retired massage therapist. Mrs. Marchisin was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Marchisin. She is survived by two sons, Andrew Marchisin and his wife Rachel, of Panama City, Ernest Marchisin and his wife Louann of Freeport, Fla., four grandchildren, Christopher Marchisin of Freeport, Fla., Katherine Hernandes and her husband Vince of Joshua, Texas, Ernest Marchisin Jr., Michael Marchisin both of Mass., great-granddaughter, Tiffany Marchisin and great grandson, Mark Anthony Hernandes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. Memorialization will be by cremation. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Alzheimer's Respite Center c/o Bay County Council on Aging in memory of Hildegard Marchisin.

Mrs. Stella Dickerson of Panama City, Fla., passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, in a local hospital. Born in Hazard, Ky., she moved here in 1979, from Cadiz, Ind. Mrs. Dickerson was a retired housekeeper and a member of His Way Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Monroe Dickerson, infant son, Sammy Dickerson and one daughter, Ruth Ann Walters. Mrs. Dickerson is survived by one son, Haven Hughes and wife, Carolyn, of Southport; two daughters, Margaret Wallen and husband, Dennis, of Madison, Ind., and Catherine Stewart of Panama City Beach; one sister, Marie Rule of Pocono Summit, Pa., and five grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Dickerson will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Patterson officiating. The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2001, frpm 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Gale French, age 53, of 10602 County 2301, Youngstown, Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001 at her home. She had been a resident of the area for 36 years, coming here from St. Marks, Fla. Mrs. French worked for the Bay District Schools as a housekeeper and was a member of Central Pentecostal Ministries. She enjoyed singing and playing gospel music. Mrs. French is survived by her husband, Hulon French of Youngstown, Fla.; two sons, Hulon Scott French and Christopher Daniel French, both of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Marsha Gale Dale of Castor, La.; four brothers, Roy Jacobs of Crawfordville, Fla., Wayne Jacobs of Youngstown, Fla., David Fletcher of Panama City, Fla., and James Denham of Youngstown, Fla.; two sisters, Lynn Young of Crawfordville, Fla., and Donna McCall of Panama City, Fla.; her mother, Winnie Lou Pitts of Panama City, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at the Central Pentecostal Ministries with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Mike French, Lee French, Tim Johnson, Freddie Johnson, Grant Carter, and Mike West.
