ALICE 'HOPE' CARPER FULLILOVE
Mrs. Alice "Hope" Carper Fullilove, age 76, of Roswell, Ga., died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. Known as Hope to one and all, she was a longtime resident of Bay Point and Sea Side Villas. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Carol Carper of Roswell, Tim and Casey Carper of Alpharetta, and Mark and Erin Carper of Cumming; four grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. in Roswell Chapel. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to service at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell 770-93-4811. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 1841 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta, Ga. 30329 or Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive NE, Atlanta, Ga. 30319.

MYRTLE L. KIRKLAND
Mrs. Myrtle L. Kirkland, age 78, of Hardaway Community died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001. She was a longtime resident of Panama City and had lived in Gadsden County for 10 years. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two sons, Raleigh Cross of Tallahassee and Larry Cross of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Rebecca "Becky" (Al) Vealey of Hardaway; one brother, the Rev. Albert Vickers of Marrietta, Ga.; three sisters, Lottiee Mae Davis of Panama City, Alice Baker of Panama City; and Earline Vickers of Panama City and one grandchild, Andrew Vealy of Quincy. Funeral services were held on Sept. 21 at 2 p.m., in Faith Heritage Church in Quincy. Burial will be in Callaway Cemetery in Panama City 10 a.m. today, Saturday, Sept. 22. The family will receive friends after services at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Faith Heritage Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1476, Quincy, Fla. 32353-1476.

Mr. Emanuel "Bud" Mack, 68, of 1717 Louisiana Ave. died Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Bay Medical Center. Funeral services for Deacon Mack will be held today, Sept. 22 at 11a.m. in the Neals Temple First Born Church with Bishop S.J. Williams, pastor and Bishop Richard Jenkins Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Redwood Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at its residence of 1717 Louisiana Ave.

BETTY MARTIN
Mrs. Betty Martin, 80, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at her home after an extended illness. Born in Holmes County, Fla., she had been a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Martin and her husband, Mr. George C. Martin Sr., founded M&M Mobile Homes in 1963. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dianne Martin, precedes her in death, along with one brother and 11 sisters. Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, George C. Martin; one son, George C. Martin, Jr.; two daughters, Betty Sue Collins and husband, Sam P. Collins, all of Panama City, Fla., and Elizabeth Ann McSpadden and husband, Richard G. McSpadden Sr. of Royston, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, Donna M. Allen and husband, Bill, Tanya Sue Riley, Richard G. McSpadden Jr. and wife, Judy, Betty Lynn Jones, Clifton C. McSpadden and wife, Trisha, George "Marty" Martin, III and wife, Nancy, Debra E. Polk and husband, Richard, Kimberly L. Pettis and husband, Michael, Cheryl R. Bryan and husband, Don, Laura "Lanice" Cleckler and husband, Bobby, Dana L. Schiro and husband, Todd and Summer M. Collins; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted today, Sept. 22, 2001, at 3 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: George "Marty" Martin, III, Cliff McSpadden, Richard McSpadden Jr., Michael Pettis, Michael Jones and Bobby Cleckler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Skipper Denham, Richard Polk, Don Bryan, Todd Schiro, Bill Allen Jr. and Aubrey Bo Davis.

HELEN KIM MARTINEZ
Mrs. Helen Kim Martinez, age 41, of Altha, died Wednesday morning at Calhoun Liberty Hospital. Mrs. Martinez was born in Vero Beach, Fla., and had lived in Altha for the past 23 years. She was a plant nursery manager. She was a member of American Veteran Auxiliary 231 in Fountain. Survivors include her husband, Ray Martinez of Altha; her mother, Helen "Boots" Frost of Vero Beach; one brother, Randy Vernon of Vero Beach; three sisters, Vickie Miensma, Tami Watters and Laura Frost, all of Vero Beach; one nephew, two nieces, one grand niece and several aunts and uncles. No services are planned. Interment will be by cremation. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements, 850-762-3965.

Funeral services for Martha Virginia Maxted of Panama City, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in a local hospital, will be held today at 10 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Those who desire to may make a contribution to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church in memory of Martha Maxted. Active pallbearers are Ricky Holman, Marshall Holman, Sterling Holman, Kar Oshane, John Oros, and Bill Rinks. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faithful Servants Sunday school class at First Baptist Church .

Funeral services for Joe Bryant Skipper, 89, of 2420 East Second Plaza, Panama City, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in a local hospital will be held today at 3:30 p.m. in the Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. ELLIE V. CORLEY
Mrs. R.L. Corley, born February 12, 1907, in Quincy, Fla., passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2001, in Sacramento, Ca. She was formerly from 809 State Ave., Panama City, Fla. She and her husband moved to Bay County in 1931. After her husband's death in October 1988, her son Dan moved her to Sacramento, Ca. to be near him. She was a homemaker, except during World War II, when she worked at Tyndall Field. She is survived by a daughter, Ethel C. Overton Henderson of Cornelia, Ga.; a son, Dan and wife, Hwa J. of Sacramento, Ca.; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews of Panama City. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Corley, a son, Charles L. (Chuck) Corley and son-in-law Len Henderson. She was a longtime member of the 11th St. Seventh Day Adventist Church, Panama City where she had many friends and attended faithfully as long as she was able. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Tyman and Richard Moseley officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring may make a contribution to the American Cancer Society in memory of Ellie Corley.

WILLIAM ROY GILFORD
William Roy Gilford, born September 19, 1913, in Barbour County, Ala., passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. He was a resident of Southport for the past 21 years and was affectionately known as "Southport Crawdaddy". He was a truck driver during World War II, transporting aviation fuel. He was a past deacon for the Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pensacola. He was preceded in death by his son J.W. Dykes. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jewell Davis Gilford; daughter-in-law, Marilyn D. Dykes; grandchildren, Mike and Kathy Dykes, Rodney and Mickie Dykes, Stephen and Julie Dykes; great-grandsons, Paul, David, Daniel, Matthew, and Logan Dykes, Jason Walsingham; two great great-grandchildren, Ashley and Adam Dykes; and their mother Maria. Funeral services will held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 to 6 p.m.

FRANCES DOROTHY GOSSETT
Miss Frances Dorothy Gossett, age 58, of 7319 Fox Hill Road, Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at a local hospital. Miss Gossett had been a resident of Bay County since 1988, coming here from Wyandotte, Mi. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wyandotte, Mi., member of the American Legion, and the AMVETS, & Marine Corps League. Miss Gossett is survived by her mother, Margaret Gossett and a brother, Jean Gossett, both of Panama City, Fla.; numerous cousins and two aunts. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at the Nixon J.R. Funeral Home in Wyandotte, Mi., with Pastor Neal Groeling officiating. Interment will follow at the Glen Eden Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, 2001.

LENWOOD BUTLER
Mr. Lenwood Butler, 67, who resided at 801 E. 10th Court Panama City, Fla., passed away on Sept. 19, 2001, at his home. Mr. Butler was a retired cement finisher. Mr. Butler had a deep faith in God. He leaves a family that loved and respected him, his companion for 19 years, Ms. Williene Turner; children, Lenwood Butler Jr., Charles Butler and Prescilla Butler, all of New Haven, Conn.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Sampson of Clinton, N.C.; a brother, William (Mary) Oates of Miami; stepchildren, Pearl Collins, Curtis Lee Kirk and Roosevelt Kirk Jr. of Panama City; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends; a devoted friend and caregiver, Georgena Lockhart. Visitation for Mr. Butler will be held today, Sept. 24, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Butler will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 2:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the Providence F.G.M.E. Church, 318 School Ave., in Springfield with Bishop Lonnie Mitchell officiating. Mr. Butler will be forwarded to Clinton, N.C., with interment in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Tida Marie Rollins, 84, of Panama City, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a member of the Callaway United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Coy Rollins. She is survived by a daughter, Jan Norton and her husband, Gene of Panama City; two sons, George Ray Rollins Sr. and his wife, Glenda of Dothan, Ala., James E. Rollins and his wife, Yvonne of Panama City; two sisters, Edna Jenkins and her husband, Robert, and Ressie Ward, all of Panama City; six grandchildren, Rod Allan, Sherri Allan Johnson, Jeff Allan, Ray Rollins Jr., Gail Sparkman, Wyann McDonald; and eight great-grandchildren. The Rev. Dorothy Carr Wilson, 54, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in Fredrick, Md. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Elder and Mrs. Melvin B. Carr. She is survived by husband, Mr. Lovell Wilson, of Fredrick, Md.; eight devoted children; and numerous granchildren; three sisters, Pastor Lillie (Carl) Hutchison of Panama City, Fla., Mrs. Mary (Johnny) Ellington of New Jersey, Mrs. Catherine (James) Patterson of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Mr. John (Janie) Carr of Jamacia, N.Y. Other local surviving relatives are Mr. Tony (Mary) Barnes, Min.
