REIGN HUGH SHIPLEY
Reign Hugh Shipley, 72, of Vernon, Fla., passed from this life on Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at Chipley, Fla.
He had been a resident of Vernon, Fla., for the past 30 years, coming from St. Joe, Fla.
He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of East Side Baptist Church of Vernon, Fla., where he served as a deacon.
He was a mason in Greensburg, Ky., member of the Chipley Giddeon Camp, principal for 1 year in Kentucky, a Travel Agent, Director of Bay Wind Band in Panama City, Fla., commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel, Who's Who in American Education and teacher of the year at the Vernon Middle School.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct, 30., 2001, at the Wachob Chapel with the Revs. Edward Pilarczyk, Johnnie Jones and Ray Cotton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wachob Chapel. Burial will be in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.
Survivors are wife, Lenore Shipley, Vernon, Fla.; son, William J. Shipley, Bonifay, Fla.; two daughters, Mary Joe Watlington, Laurel Maryland, Carol Margret Sisk, Lafayefte, Ind.; four grandchildren.

REIGN HUGH SHIPLEY
Reign Hugh Shipley, 72, of Vernon, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 26, in Chipley, Fla.
He had been a resident of Vernon for the past 30 years, and had moved to Florida in 1966 from Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Vernon, where he served as a deacon; was a Mason, and was a member of the Chipley Gideon Camp.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1928, in Huntington, Ind., to the late William H. Shipley and the late Geraldine (Carmer) Shipley.
He graduated from and taught music at Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky.
He was a high school and middle school band director and science teacher in Kentucky and Florida for nearly 40 years.
In Kentucky, he was a band director, an elementary school principal, was listed in Who's Who in American Education, and was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 1964.
In Florida, he was band director at several schools, and taught for 20 years at Vernon High School and Vernon Middle School, where he was the 1990 Teacher of the Year.
In his retirement, he was a part-time travel agent and director of the Bay Wind Band in Panama City.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today, Oct. 30, at the Wachob Chapel, in Chipley, with the Revs. Edward Pilarczyk. John Jones, and Raymond Cotton officiating.
Burial will be at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky., on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m.
Survivors are his wife, Lenore Shipley of Vernon; one son, William J. Shipley of Bonifay; two daughters, Mary Jo Watlington of Laurel, Md., and Carol Margaret Sisk of Lafayette, Ind., and four grandchildren, Paul Shipley, Patricia Shipley, Eric Watlington and Daniel Watlington.

JOHN B. WAINWRIGHT
Funeral services for John B. Wainwright, 83, of Panama City, who passed away, Oct. 26, 2001, will be held 10 a.m. today, Oct. 30, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors.

SAM A. FORD SR.
Mr. Sam A. Ford Sr., 76, of Port St. Joe, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2001.
Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his son, Charles Ford.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Ford; three sons, Sam Ford Jr., John Ford and wife Penny, and William Ford and wife Kelli; one daughter, Teresa McArdle and husband Donny; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole, Jarrod, Chaney, Dixie, Alex and his special buddy Samantha.
Graveside services will be held today, Oct. 30, 2001, at 1 p.m. EST at the Holly Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Bailey officiating. Interment will follow.

EVELYN B. WALDEN
Mrs. Evelyn B. Walden, 83, of Milton, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at Sandy Ridge Care Center in Milton, Fla.
Born in Brewton, Ala., she moved to Pensacola from Panama City in 1953.
She was a secretary with the Wilson National Life Insurance Company and later with Gulf Life Insurance Company.
She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.
She was a faithful Christian who was a member of the Richards Memorial United Methodist Church in Pensacola. Her parents, her devoted husband of 49 years, Ceal P. Walden, brothers Eugene, Arthur, and Woodrow Calloway, and a sister, Ann Jones, precede her in death.
Mrs. Walden is survived by three daughters, Joyce Ervin of Spartanburg, S.C., Debra Clark and husband Thomas of Kingsland, Ga., and Jean Fowler and husband Ellis of Milton, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kelly Auchincloss and husband, Peter, of Baltimore, Md., Kimberly Smith and husband, A.J., of Atlanta, Ga., and Sherri Vereen and husband, Ted Vereen, of Katy, Texas, and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. E.B. Malson and the Rev. Dan Norman officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral services from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make a memorial tribute to the Alabama-Northwest Florida Asbury Foundation by mailing donations to the Woodbine United Methodist Church, 5200 Woodbine Road, Pace, FL 32571 in memory of Mrs. Walden.

BRITT C. WILDER
Mr. Britt C. Wilder, 43, of Youngstown, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at his home.
Born in Enterprise, Ala., he had been a resident of this area since 1987.
He worked for Gulf Pines Hospital in Port St. Joe as a radiology and ultrasound technician.
He was Baptist by faith and was a graduate of Enterprise State Junior College where he was on the dean's list in 1977 and 1978.
Mr. Wilder is survived by his mother, Sarah K. Wilder, of Youngstown, Fla., one brother, Wayne Wilder and wife, Sharon, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; one niece, Erica L. Wilder of Tallahassee, Fla.; one nephew, John C. Wilder of Panama City Beach, Fla., and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral service.

SONJA RAFFIELD TUTTLE
Mrs. Sonja Raffield Tuttle, 60, of Panama City, Fla., passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at a local nursing facility.
She had been a resident of the area for five years, coming here from Port St. Joe, and was a member of the Worship Center of Wewahitchka, Fla.
Mrs. Tuttle is survived by two sons, John Robert Tuttle and Jerry Lee Tuttle Jr., both of Panama City; three sisters, Amaryllis Weakley of Bridge City, Texas, Shirley Jarzynka of Panama City and Iris Williamson of Port St. Joe; and one brother, Robert A. Raffield of Panama City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Central Pentecostal Ministries with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating.
Interment will follow at Roberts Cemetery.
Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Charlie Pettis, John E. Dady, Chuck Haney, Donnie Wesler, Chris Walding and Gray Rowell.
Honorary pallbearers will include Paul Davis, Bil McLean, Earl Haney, John W. Dady, O'Neal Sanders, Joe Mac Purswell and Tracy Sanders.
The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Oct. 31, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

BEDFORD PILGRIM
Bedford Pilgrim, age 58, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2001.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 26, at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home.
He is survived by five children, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

EUGENE SELF
Eugene Self, 72, of 1825 E. Ninth St., College Point, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Bay County and was a retired paint contractor.
Mr. Self was a member of Temple Baptist Church and Bob's Sunday school class, the Elks Club and the Wandering Elks and Does Camping Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert R. and Cora Reynolds Self; and four brothers, Albert Self, Lake Self, Harry Self and Robert Self.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred Self, of College Point, two daughters, Gloria Tipton and her husband, David of Panama City; Patricia Coffee and her husband, David of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., son, Dallas Self and his wife, Donna, of Panama City; eight granddaughters, Jenyne Tipton, Stacia Tipton, Christine Tipton, Sheila Coffee, Cynthia Coffee, Brenda Coffee, Stephanie Cruse and Crystal Self; three grandsons, Steven Self, Corey Self, Morgan Self; sister, Mary Padgette and her husband, Howard; brothers, Jack Self and his wife, Jo, Lynnwood Self and his wife, Nell; and three great grandchildren, P.J. Golds, Austin Golds and Michaela Cruse.
Private family graveside services will be held Thursday in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Taylor Hodges officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Those desiring, may make a contribution to Hospice of Emerald Coast or the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Eugene Self.
