RAYMOND 'RAY' BAYNE
Mr. Raymond "Ray" Bayne, 57, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at his home. Born in Monmouth, Ill., he moved here in 1985 from Illinois. He was employed as a greeter at Sam's Wholesale Club. Mr. Bayne is survived by his wife, Sharon Bayne, of Panama City, Fla.; cousins, Pam Reed and husband, Ed, of Iowa, Virginia Conley and husband, Charles, of Panama City, Fla.; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emerald Coast Hospital in memory of Mr. Bayne.

FREDRICK CHARLES BRYANT
Mr. Fredrick Charles Bryant, 83, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1923, was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army and served in the Florida National Guard with the 106th Engineer Corps. Mr. Bryant enjoyed gardening, fishing, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was the senior tour foreman at the pulp mill at International Paper Co. and retired after 43 years. Mr. Bryant was of the Assembly of God faith. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Club at International Paper Co., the Army 106th Retiree Group, and the Byrd Parker Golf Cart Club. Mr. Bryant is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Mary E. Bryant of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Leorita Pacheco of Panama City; two sons, Wade E. Bryant and his wife, Gloria of Clarksville, Fla., and Charles C. Bryant and his wife, Sandra, of Panama City Beach; 10 grandchildren, Fredrick D. Bryant and his wife, Linda, Marc L. Pacheco and his wife, Lesia, Deborah Owens, Michelle Gainer and her husband, Joe, Samuel Bryant, Robert Bryant, Kelly Bryant, Gloria Elizabeth Bryant, Hannah Bryant and Kathryn Bryant; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Bryant of Panama City, Carrie Bryant of Winsboro, La., and Mickey Bryant of Panama City; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 1, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Price and the Rev. Wiley T. Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Marc Pacheco, Robert Bryant, Fredrick Bryant, Joe Gainer Jr., Ralph Witt and Ronne Clanton. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of the 106th Army Engineer Group, the I.P.C. Quarter Century Club and the Byrd Parker Golf Cart Club. Those desiring may make contributions to Covenant Hospice in Mr. Bryant's memory.

JOHN HENRY COOPER
John Henry Cooper, 75, of 1714 Stephens Ave., Panama City, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City. He was a 1944 graduate of Bay High School and a member of First Baptist Church. He served in the Navy Seals during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Cooper was the owner and operator of Cooper Radiator Service. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Summerford Cooper, daughter, Gloria Cooper Dykes and her husband, Sid, all of Panama City; four grandchildren, George McClintock Jr. and his wife, Amanda, of Birmingham, Ala., John McClintock of Atlanta, Ga., Emily McClintock and Laura McClintock, both of Auburn, Ala., sister, Thelma Wooten and her husband, Tom, of Panama City, brother, L.L. Cooper Jr. of Lynn Haven; niece, Nila Latta and her husband, Bob, of Panama City; and nephew, Craig Osborne and his wife, Judy, of Vancouver, Wash. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. Those desiring may make a contribution to Apalachicola Bay and Riverkeeper, 29 Island Drive, P.O. DELIA MARIE GARCIA GOTTSHALL
Delia Marie Garcia Gottshall of 217 S. Glades Trail in Panama City Beach went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at 8 p.m. Death occurred at the Bay Medical Center where she was admitted a few days ago. Delia, who was by family and friends known as Mary, was a native of the country of Panama. She was preceded in death by both parents. She was married to Clair Gottshall in the canal zone in 1955. The couple moved to Altoona, Pa., after Clair sought discharge from the Army. Shortly after arriving in Altoona, Mary attended Calvary Baptist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. The couple raised four children over the course of the next 18 years in the Altoona area. The family then moved to Winter Haven, Fla., in 1972, where Mary's husband, Clair, began working for State Farm Insurance. After a series of relocation and promotion moves to Texas, the couple moved to Summerfield, Fla., in 1955 upon Clair's retirement from State Farm. Clair died shortly thereafter. Mary moved to the Panama City area in 2000 to be close to her oldest daughter. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She was the type of woman everyone enjoyed having as a friend and neighbor. She was a very special person who brought joy and laughter to all. She will be missed by family and friends. Mary is survived by her daughters, Delia Hunt and her husband, David, of Panama City Beach, and Joanne Ewell and her husband, Vic, of Newnan, Ga.; her sons, Wayne Gottshall and his wife, Delores, of Pensacola, Fla., Charles Gottshall and his wife, Kim, of Wilmington, Del. Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren, Samantha and Lauren Hunt, Christopher Ewell, Christina and Savannah Gottshall, and Charlotte and Andy Gottshall. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with her son, the Rev. Charles Gottshall, along with the staff of the St. Andrew Baptist Church of which Mary attended. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 1, 2001, from 7 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, from 2 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery located in Bushnell, Fla., where her body will be interred alongside her husband's. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Andrew Baptist Church.

BOBBY GRAHAM-WAGNER
Mr. Bobby Graham-Wagner died Oct. 26, 2001 in New Orleans, La. He was born June 22, 1942, to the late Marie and Barron V. Wagner Sr. in Panama City. He attended public schools in Bay County and was a graduate of Rosenwald High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the New Orleans Police Department in 2001. He dedicated his life to Christ before passing. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William Wagner. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Emma Graham of New Orleans; two daughters, Andrea Graham of Dallas, Texas, and Felicia Graham of Shreveport, La.; one granddaughter, Chanelle; four brothers, Chester Wagner of Brent, Ala., Alfred A. Wagner, Lester Wagner (Sarah), and Barron Wagner Jr., all of Panama City; two sisters, Bertha Coley (Rod) of Severn, Md., and Monique Turner (James) of Panama City; special cousins, Irene Dixon of Panama City, Mary Bass of Sarasota, Fla., and Millie Craddox (Dave) of Portland, Ore.; a close friend Timothy (Bo) Washington of Panama Citv, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church at 4533 Meadez St. in New Orleans, La. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends locally at 3507 Second Court in Springfield, Fla.

CLARA MAE SIMS
Mrs. Clara Mae Sims, 88, of Acworth, Ga., died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001. Mrs. Sims was very active in her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as local and regional president of the ladies auxiliary for many years. She was a longtime member of the Marianna Pilot Club and the Marianna Women's Club. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Depew of Acworth and Jane Watts of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, Dr. Greg Bess of Dothan, Bud Watts of Charlotte, N.C., and Patti Hock of Alexandria, Va., and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. CST at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints in Marianna, with Gerald Gause officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with James & James Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Maddox Chapel.

SANDRA GAIL DANIELS BARFIELD
Ms. Sandra Gail Daniels Barfield, 50, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at her home. She was a former resident of Ashford, Ala., and had lived in Panama City since November 2000, and was a homemaker. She loved gardening, crafts, and cooking. Ms. Barfield is survived by her sons, Scott Ammons, Brian Ammons, and Jason Ammons, all of Panama City, Fla.; brothers, Sam Daniels of Panama City, Earl Daniels and his wife, Rhonda, of Ashford, Ala., and Obe S. Daniels Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Edward William Ammons Jr., and her parents, Obe and Helen Daniels. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dennis Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Sam W. Daniels, Lawson Earl Daniels, Obe S. Daniels Jr., and Edward W. MRS. NAOMI BEACH
Mrs. Naomi Beach, 85, of 7735 Homestead Road, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Beach was a lifelong resident of Bay County and a charter member of the Bear Creek Assembly of God Church. She was a pole clerk of Precinct No. 9 of Youngstown for 40 years. Mrs. Beach was a loving wife, mother, and peacemaker. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Mr. J.R. Beach of Bear Creek; one son, Tommy Beach and his wife, Reggie; daughters, Jane Ann McGill and her husband, Charles, Marion Lovis Miles and her husband, Willie Jim, Wanda Ruth Daniels and her husband, Willie, Sonya Dale Sword and her husband, William, all of the Bay County area. Sisters, Sybil Cunningham and Gladys Cobb, both of Bay County, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. A sister-in-law; Shirley Sword and her husband, Tom, and a brother-in-law, Grady Hood and his wife, Deloris. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ed and Janie Lee, brother, Edward Lee, sisters, Hortense Hood and Christine Dean, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at the Bear Creek Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Hunt Cunningham, the Rev James Raley, and the Rev. Fred Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Youngstown Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Daniel Sword, Chuck McGill, Tony McGill, Sammy Miles, Randy Miles, James Beach, Kenny McGill, Billy Stewart, and Joey Miles. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaynes Lambert, Richard Goodwin, Bobby Tyner, Grady Hood, Leroy Hood, Bill Hunter, Roy Peacock Dick Bodner, Tom Sword, and the Rev. J.W. Barlow.
