GWENDOLYN BARRON ROARK
Mrs. Gwendolyn Barron Roark, age 55, of Panama City, Fla., passed away, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at a local hospital. A 1964 graduate of Bay High School, Mrs. Roark was a Dallas-based Allergy Specialist, training and teaching abroad before retirement. Mrs. Roark was of the Methodist faith. She returned to Panama City in 2001. Mrs. Roark is survived by her husband, Bob Roark, of Panama City, Fla.; two sons, Robert Jack Roark Jr. of Littleton, Colo., and Clint Roark and his wife, Jodie, of Englewood, Colo.; four grandchildren, Jenni, Ben, Claire and Dylan. She is the daughter of Virginia Barron and the late D. L. "Doc" Barron. Survivors also include two Sisters, Jean Neeld and husband, Herb, of Crystal River, Fla., and Beth Adams of Dallas, Texas; five brothers, Dorman Barron and wife, Carolyn, of Panama City Beach, Dink Barron and wife Jackie of Houston, Texas, Nick Barron and wife, Delores, Kenny Barron and wife, Tina, and Herb Barron and wife, Jessica, all of Panama City; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bellman and the Rev. David Price officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Roark's nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include the Full Gospel Businessmen's Prayer Group and Brad Roark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 18, 2001, from 5 until 7 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Barry Sullivan, R.N.

MICHAEL FRANCIS CONLEY
Mr. Michael Francis Conley, age 50, of 4117 W. 20th. Court, Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at his home. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1991, coming here from Rhode Island. Mr. Conley served his country four years with the U.S. Navy and nine years with the Merchant Marines, until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the St. John's The Evangelist Catholic Church. Mr. Conley is survived by his wife, Bernie Conley, of Panama City, Fla.; three sisters, Margie Conley, Marian Conley, and Joyce Arruda, all of Mass.; two nephews, Brian Arruda and Matthew Arruda, both of Mass.; numerous brothers and sister-in laws, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, all from Guam, Maryland, Brementon, Wash., and Calif.; his best friend, Charles Halbfinger of Mass., and a family friend Mary Hodge of Panama City, Fla. Mr. Conley was preceded in death by his parents, Fred M. and Betty Conley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Andrew Lewandowski officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Bruce Stewart, Doug Hodge, George Guerrero, Juan Guerrero, and Chris Meier. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a Rosary at 4 p.m.

LOUISE B. VAISNIS
Mrs. Louise B. Vaisnis, 85, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2001, in a local nursing home. Born in Taunton, Mass., she moved here in 1999 from Brockton, Mass. She was a seamstress and retired in 1981. She was Catholic by faith and was an active member of the Senior Sunshine Club on Panama City Beach. Her hobbies included making arts and crafts, embroidering, cooking and bingo. Her husband, John K. Vaisnis, precedes her in death. Mrs. Vaisnis is survived by one daughter, Pat Weber and husband, Richard, of Panama City Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Adela Furmanik of Taunton, Mass., and Marilyn Kasap of New Bedford, Mass.; two sisters-in-law, Jean Gontkiewicz of Taunton, Mass., and Lillian Labbate of Brockton, Mass; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted today, Nov. 19, 2001, at 3 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ben Klucinec officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Rich and Pat Weber following the services.

SAMANTHA JO BAXLEY
Miss Samantha Jo "Sammi Jo" Baxley, 11, of Dalkeith, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, in Dalkeith as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She attended Wewahitchka Elementary School and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She also attended Dalkeith Baptist Church with her friends. Survivors include her mother, Brenda Baxley; her stepfather, Jeff Johnson, both of Dalkeith; her father, Mike Baxley and wife, Candy, both of Panama City; two sisters, Pricilla and Casi Baxley, both of Dalkeith; her grandparents, Jim and Janice Baxley of Nevada, Ralph McGhee and Jeannette Gilliam of Georgia, and the late Dowling Harris; and her aunts and uncles who loved her. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. CST Wednesday from the Dalkeith Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Newton and Bishop Glen George. Interment will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery. MYRTLE DORCH
Mrs. Myrtle Dorch, 85, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at a local hospital. She was born in Gadsden, Ala., and lived in Panama City most of her life. Mrs. Dorch was a homemaker and attended Springfield Community Church. She is survived by two sons, Roger Dorch and his wife, Kathy, and Bobby Dorch, all of Panama City; three daughters, Mary E. Wang of Cor-de-lane, Idaho, and Dorothy Shiver and her husband, Eustus, and Jeanette Gose and her husband, Jack, all of Panama City; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tillman Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Cypress Creek Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Jimmy Shiver, Michael Dorch, B.J. Dorch, James Dorch, Billy Hogan and Joseph Wetherington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.

NORMAN GASTON MICLETTE
Mr. Norman Gaston Miclette, 74, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1995, coming here from Salem, N.H. Mr. Miclette loved people and was a very outgoing person. He had retired as a self-employed traffic manager and done seasonal work at the Laguna Beach Christian Retreat. Mr. Miclette was a registered parishioner at St. John's Catholic Church. He also was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 10555 at Inlet Beach, American Legion Post No. 356 in Lynn Haven, and past member of AARP of Panama City Beach. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Miclette, of Panama City Beach; daughters, Michelle Miclette-Panagore and her husband, Peter, of Boothbay, Maine, Lisa Pappo and her husband, Chris, of Malvern, Pa., and Carla Gauthier and her husband, Richard, of Orchid Park, N.Y.; sons, Mark Miclette and his wife, Toni, of Dexter, Maine, and Eric Miclette and his wife, Maya, of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Robert Miclette and his wife, Barbara, of Terryville, Conn.; sisters, Gloria Charbonneau of Waterbury, Conn., and Lucille Orsatti and her husband, Peter, of Watertown, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Dan, Ed, and Emily Pappo, Benjamin and Julia Gauthier, Alexa and Andy Panagore, and Weston and Michael Miclette; and loving family members, Norma, Michelle, Jackie, Renee, and Marie. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amelia Walsh Miclette; his parents, and three brothers. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. today, Nov. 20, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Father Andrew Lewandowski officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Waterbury, Conn. JOSEPH HERBERT POTTER
Mr. Joseph Herbert Potter, 78, of Ebro, passed away Nov. 16 in the Panama City Nursing Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and of the Holiness Faith. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McQueens Temple First Born Holliness Church near Ebro with Jr. Bishop Willie A. Potter and Elder John O. Brown, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vernon with Copper Funeral Home of Chipley directing. The remains will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m Wednesday until time for the services at 1 p.m. Survivors include the children, Jr. Bishop, Willie A. Potter Sr. (Gwen) of Lynn Haven, Wayne E. Potter Sr. (Maggie) of Ebro, Frances (Potter) Ross (William) of Bainbridge, Ga., Brenda Potter of Vernon, Nina Campbell of DeFuniak Springs, Kimberly Potter of Panama City; adopted son, Elliott K. Reed of Panama City; two sisters, Rose Edwards, Ebro and Corine Peterson; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

BERNICE RICHARDSON
Bernice Richardson died Nov. 14, 2001, at the Danbury Hospital, in Danbury, Conn. Bernice was born in Dale County, Ala., March 22, 1918, daughter of the late J.P. and Sarah Lee Watkins. She moved with her family to Blountstown, Fla., and was educated there. After her marriage, to the late Walter B. Richardson, Bernice moved to Port St. Joe. Her employment for many years was as a hospital dietitian and then, as a clerk/bookkeeper at Buzzett's Drug Store until she retired in 1996. She was a long-time member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Richardson was the loving mother of her daughter, Sarah Linda Straub, and husband, Roger, of Connecticut; and son, W. Alan Richardson and wife, Sandy, of Port St. Joe. She was also was much loved, and will be missed by her five grandchildren, Deborah Lach, Krista Stringer, Catherine Anderson, Alana Seal and Lillie Richardson, three great-grandchildren, Steven Lach, William Anderson and Nathan Anderson; brothers, Tom Watkins and wife, Betty, Charles Watkins and wife, Mary Ann, Otto Benton and wife, Tommie, and Merle Benton; sisters, Rena Chafin, Mildred Montgomery and husband, Bill, Thelma Cook and husband, Carlos, and Mary Alice O'Brien; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe on Monday, Nov. 26, with visitation at 1 p.m. and memorial service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice.

Eileen Shelton, 88, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be conducted today, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Southerland Funeral Home is in charge of the service.

Mr. Robert Holland Weaver, 92, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Sunday evening, Nov. 18, 2001, in Bay Medical Center. Born in Paragould, Ark., he moved here five years ago from Arkansas. He retired after 33 years of service as a brakeman from the Missouri-Pacific Railroad and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City Beach. Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, S. Hazel Bostwick Weaver, of Panama City Beach; two sons, Robert Carl Weaver and wife, Carolyn, of Paragould, Ark., and Dr. Jerry Weaver and wife, Sandra, of Panama City Beach; two daughters, Elaine Wilthong and husband, James, of Puxico, Mo., and Martha Gadberry and husband, Leon, of Forrest City, Ark., two stepsons, Paul M. Bostwick and wife, Sharon, of Roswell, Ga., Dan L. Bostwick and wife, Jane, of Lilburn, Ga.; five grandchildren, Sheryl Edinger, Kenny Pique, Bryan Pique, Jeff Weaver and Deniece Weaver; two great-grandchildren, Dillion Pique and Kirby Weaver; three stepgrandchildren, Steven and Laura Bostwick and Michelle Mason; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Gabriel and Samual Bostwick. Funeral services will be conducted today, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Panama City Beach with the Rev. Jerry Weaver officiating. Mr. Weaver will be sent to Paragould, Ark., for burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Panama City Beach Building Fund or the the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Weaver.

Tommy Alonzo Wilson, 39, was born on March 17, 1962, in the District of Columbia. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Ruther L. Daniels; two brothers, Jerome and Jimmie Daniels of Panama City; seven sisters, Mary Daniels-Randol of Detroit, Mich., Joyce V. Battles of Washington, D.C., Alice Wilson of Miami, Rochelle Douglas, Tina Douglas, Monika Douglas and Tantawan Douglas of Panama City; six nieces, four nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be at the Russell A. Wright Sr. Mortuary on Nov. 20, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral services will be held at the Love Center Missionary Baptist Church, 3100 E. 11th St., on Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Rufus Wood Jr. Officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
