MARY 'LOU' MACHTLEY
Mrs. Mary "Lou" Machtley, age 71, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. She was born in Middletown, Pa., and had lived in Panama City for 38 years, moving here from Tampa. Mrs. Machtley was a homemaker and loved fishing and bowling and passed both of these loves to her sons. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven. Mrs. Machtley is survived by her husband, John Machtley Jr., of Panama City; three sons, Gary G. Machtley and his wife, Kathleen, of Pittsburgh, Pa., John C. Machtley III of Dauphin Island, Ala., and Timothy M. Machtley and his wife, Sherry, of Jacksonville, Fla.; ten grandchildren, Glenn, Trisha, Stephen, Bobby, Melanie, Phillip, James, David, Meagan and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren, Becky, Sabrina, and Gavin. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 9, 2001, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven with Dr. Fred Keith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven, 810 Georgia Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla. 32444.

WILLIAM 'BILL' CHESTER PRICKETT
William "Bill" Prickett of Panama City Beach died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at his residence. He was a native of Atlanta, Ga. He had been a resident of this area for the last 20 years. Bill, a veteran of WWII, practiced law for many years in Atlanta. After moving to the beaches, he operated a security firm. After retirement, he served as Sexton of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church for 15 years. At the time of his death, he was a member of this church. He often said, "The only thing you need to know about me, is that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ who is my Lord and Savior." Bill was a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his two children. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cathy. His Witness to the Resurrection Service will be Monday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church. Visitation will begin at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church.

THOMAS BRANHAM
Thomas Branham, 81, of Sunny Hills, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in a local adult care facility. He was born March 4, 1920, in Toler, Ky. Memorialization will be by cremation. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, one sister, two stepsons and four grandchildren.

Memorial service for Cornelius S. "Neal" Dresser, 85, of Panama City, who died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in a local hospital will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Panama City with the Rev. David Warren and the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Honorary pallbearers are the staff and management of Tommy Thomas Chevrolet, members of the Panama City Downtown Rotary Club, and members of the Daedalians. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to may make a contribution to their favorite charity in memory of Neal Dresser.

ROBERT E. 'BOB' GALL
Funeral services for Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Gall, age 67, of Lynn Haven, Fla., who passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Birmingham, Ala., will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 10, 2001, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Britton officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers are: Jerry Klinger, Tommy Johnson, Edward Butzke, Stan Coston, Karl Shelton and Art Schaefer. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Prime 55 Advisor Board at People's First Bank, William Lilleston, Dr. Ronald Sinicrope and James Faircloth. BETTY THOMASON MIHLFELD
Betty Thomason Mihlfeld, 67, of Grand Ridge, died Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2001, at her home. She was the loving and devoted wife of the Rev. Beryl R. Mihlfeld for 37 years, and the mother of their three children. She and her husband faithfully served together in the ministry for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for over 25 years. They pastored the Monticello Church of God in Monticello for 10 years before coming to Grand Ridge in 1991. There they served the community and pastored Pleasant Hill Holiness Church until April 1996 when they founded New Beginnings Ministry, a non-denominational fellowship. They celebrated their 10-year anniversary of service to this area in July of this year. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Beryl Mihlfeld, of Grand Ridge; one son, Kevin Mihlfeld and his wife, Mary, of Fredericksburg, Va. ; two daughters, Kim Walsh and her husband, Sean, of Fredericksburg, and Denise White of East Point Fla.; a stepdaughter, Sherri Odom and her husband, Tim, of Cairo, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Thomas of Crawford, Fla., and Barbara McConi of Tallahassee; one brother, F.H. Thomason of Crawford; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CDT Tuesday, Dec. 11, at New Beginnings Worship Center with the Rev. Sam Hemby officiating. Burial will follow in New Beginnings Ministry Plot with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. CDT today at New Beginnings Worship Center located on State 69, south of I-10 in Grand Ridge.

LEOMA COOK ROBERTSON
Mrs. Leoma Cook Robertson, age 75, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, at a local hospital. Mrs. Robertson was born in Washington County, Fla., and had lived in Panama City for the last 50 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Westview Baptist Church. A strong and courageous woman, she worked her entire life to overcome her physical disabilities. Her life revolved around her family, whom she loved very much. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lemuel "Bo" Robertson of Panama City; her children, Evelyn Craft and her husband, Jack, of Houston, Texas, Don Robertson and wife, Dona, of Griffin, Ga., and John Robertson and wife, Sue, of Decatur, Ga.; three brothers, Lester Cook and Leo Cook, both of Bonifay, and Lancing Cook of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Lessie Boswell of Chipley, Lillian Patterson of Callaway and Loriene Kosier of Bonifay; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Hendricks, Joe Robertson, Andy Craft, Ben Robertson, Jonathan Craft, and Sam and Sarah Robertson; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandria Robertson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at graveside at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her name be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1813-C West Fairfield Drive, Pensacola, FL 32501, phone 850-432-4348. ALICE LOUISE KATHLEEN REDD
Mrs. Alice Louise Kathleen Redd, 76, of 7213 Addison Road, Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, December 9, 2001, at her residence. Born in Gulf County, Fla., she had been a longtime resident of Bay County. Mrs. Redd was a homemaker and a member of the North Bay Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Johnny M. Redd. Mrs. Redd is survived by five sons, Paul Withers of Greenhead, Gene Withers of Grand Ridge, Ray Withers of Bayou George, Gary Withers and John M. Redd Jr., both of Panama City; three daughters, Shirley Lucas of Wewahitchka, Linda Chambers of Bayou George and Kathy Beck of Panama City; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Redd will be conducted Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Dodson and the Rev. Nixon Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery.

ROBERT THORNTON 'BILL' COLEMAN
Robert Thornton "Bill" Coleman, 53, of Panama City, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a 1966 graduate of Bay High School. He was the owner of Gulf Brick Works in Panama City. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Camille Coleman, and a sister, Barbara Ann Coleman. He is survived by his father, William F. (Frank) Coleman of Panama City Beach; daughter, Iris Coleman of Panama City; two sons, Frank Coleman of Panama City, Casey Coleman of Janesville, Wis.; two sisters, Mary Elsa Blades and her husband, Lt. Gen. Arthur C. Blades, of Dumfries, Va., Margaret Julia Abernathy and her husband, Guy, of Atlanta, Ga.; aunt, Martha White of Panama City, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to their favorite charity in memory of Bill Coleman.

CORA B. MERCHANT
Cora B. Merchant, 94, of Panama City, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at a local nursing facility. She was born May 7, 1907, in Holmes County and had lived in Panama City most of her life. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Merchant; daughters, Bernice Rogers and Eunice Ramsey; and son, J.C. Merchant. She is survived by her son, Maurice Merchant and his wife, Clare; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Millville Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Edwards officiating.
