Mrs. Lottie B. Parziale, 77, of Port St. Joe passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2002. She had lived in Boston for many years, and was a resident of Graceville, Fla., before moving to Port St. Joe 18 years ago. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and had been a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Altar Society and the Sea Oats and Sand Dunes Garden Club. Mrs. Parziale is survived by her children, Charlie Parziale and his wife, Marie, of Peabody, Mass., Ronnie Turilli and his wife, Tina, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Joseph Anthony Jr., of Baggs, Wyo.; her grandchildren, Marisa, Adrian, Cassie, Corrine, David and Peter; her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Josh, Chelsea, Deverie and Dimitrius; three sisters, Della Mae Chandler of Donalsonville, Ga., Virginia Graves and husband, Sam Jr., of Port St. Joe, Betty Jean Collinsworth and husband, Otto, of DeFuniak Springs; and one brother, Dee Harper. She was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Harper. Funeral mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thursday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. EST with the Father Jim Lambert officiating. Entombment will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. She will lie in state today, Jan. 9, at the Comforter Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. EST.

GRACE GUFFEY PUGH
Grace Guffey Pugh, 74, of Panama City Beach, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at her home. She was a native of South Carolina, and had lived in Bay County since 1941. She attended Long Beach Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pugh; and a son, Richard Pugh. She is survived by three daughters, Claudia Pugh, of Panama City Beach, Faye Floyd, of Jacksonville, Ark., and Sheila Carter, of Youngstown; a son, William Pugh, of Ohio; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. from Long Beach Assembly of God Church, 1913 Cauley Ave., Panama City Beach, with the Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating.

RUDOLF A. WILEY
Rudolf A. Wiley, 55, of Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of Panama City, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Wiley was a retired civilian physicist for the U.S. Navy Department of Defense. A member of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, the American Physical Society, and Amnesty International. He received his Ph.D in physics from Kent State University. He worked for the state of New York for many years before being employed as a civilian scientist by the U.S. Navy at the Coastal Systems Station, subsequently assigned to a position at Dahlgren, Va. His life's work on metabolic pathways and nutrition lead to the publication of his book, BioBalance: The Acid/Alkaline Solution to the Food-Mood-Health Puzzle; the second edition will be released later this year. Mr. Wiley holds a patent on an innovative cooling tower design used for nuclear power generation. Survivors include wife, Pamela Carter-Wiley; two daughters, Jennifer Wiley, of Fredericksburg, Va., Suzanne Wiley of the home. His parents also survive him. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Richard Headley officiating. The family requests memorials be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Ave., Suite 210 Fredericksburg, Va. 22401 or to the Christian Children's Fund, www.christianchildrensfund.org or CCF, ATTN: Honor Someone, 2821 Emorywood Parkway, Richmond, Va., 23294. John B. Young, 86, died on Jan. 8, 2002, at Wake Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Esther Smith Young. John is survived by his current wife, Mary Lynch Young; children, Janice and Robert Mustian, of Fuqua-Varina, Joseph Michael and Sueko Young, of Panama City, and Betsy and Robert Tucker of Apex; grandchildren, Cathy Watts, Robbie Mustian, Ashley Tucker and John Young; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Jan. 9, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's St. Mass of resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2718 Overbrook Drive. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 11 S. Boylan Ave., Raleigh, N.C. 27603 or to Diabetes. WILLIE HOUSTON CARTER
Willie Houston Carter, 86, formerly of Panama City, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss. He was a 1941 graduate of Millsaps College and received his master's degree at Southern Mississippi in 1950. He was a retired Bay High School teacher. He was a former football, basketball and baseball coach. He was the superintendent of physical education, driver's education and safety education and was the Bay County athletics director for 4 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City where he was a Sunday school director and teacher of a men's class. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Berma Carter. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Dunn, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two granddaughters, Deborah Huff, of Hattiesburg, and Kimberly Iosia, of New Orleans, La.; brother, Mack Carter, of Columbus, Ga.; and three sisters, Mary Hendricks, of Gretna, Miss., Pearline Babcock, of Lompoc, Calif., and Robbie Woodard, of Hattiesburg, Miss. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Conner and the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. HADLEY HERBERT CHESTNUT JR.
Hadley Herbert (Bub) Chestnut Jr., 76, of 1330 Dover Road, Parker, Fla., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday Jan. 8, 2002, in a local hospital. Mr. Chestnut moved to Panama City in 1937 from Hodge, La. He was a retired maintenance superintendent at the Panama City mill. He graduated from Bay High School and attended FSU and Auburn University. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of IPC, DAV and Parker United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) and was present at the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Chestnut; two sons, Thomas H. Chestnut, Buddy W. Chestnut and his wife, Nicky; two daughters, Cindy Chestnut Carter and Connie Sue Chestnut Archer and her husband, Thomas, all of Panama City; four grandchildren, Joe Gorman, Julie Finch, Amy Miller, Brandon Fowler; two great-grandsons, Wesley Stone and Thomas Stone; two sisters, Pat Flowers and her husband, Arthur, of Andrews, S.C., and Sandra Turner and her husband, John, of Raleigh, N.C. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Malson, the Rev. Jack Hankins, and the Rev. Daniel Dykes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Active pallbearers are Thomas Archer, Brian Archer, Andrew Flowers, Art Flowers, Joe Gorman and Mark Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Panama City paper mill past and present employees. The family would like to express its gratitude to those who cared for Bub and especially Dr. William Dent and his staff and the doctors and nurses at University Hospital in Staten Island, N.Y. DELLA CORNELIUS
Mrs. Della Cornelius, 63, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Cornelius is survived by her husband of 46 years, Don Cornelius of Panama City; four sons, Donald Lee Cornelius and his wife, Julie, of Panama City, Bob Cornelius and his wife, Lisa, of Carrollton, Ga., Gene Cornelius and his wife, Jill, and Darrell Cornelius and his wife, Holly, all of Panama City; and her grandchildren, Bobby Cornelius II, Holly Cornelius, Tabitha Cornelius, Logan Cornelius, Jordan Cornelius and Luke Cornelius. Memorialization will be by cremation with no services to be held locally. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity or a church in her name, or donate a unit of blood to the American Red Cross in her name.

ROBERT RAY FREEMAN JR.
Mr. Robert Ray Freeman Jr., of Port St. Joe, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in a local hospital. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army and moved to Port St. Joe in 1960 from St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Freeman was a former plant manager at Basic Magnesia Corp. and retired as a chemical engineer consultant. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe and also active in the choir. He was also active in many civic organizations. Mr. Freeman was a charter member and involved in the building of the St. Joe Country Club. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Freeman Sr. Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Greta Freeman, his mother, Lydia Freeman, both of Port St. Joe; sons, Robert Freeman III and wife, Pam, of Crawfordville, Fla., and Eric Freeman and wife, Clara, of Port St. Joe; daughters, Cindi Young and husband, Fred, of Tallahassee, Diane Furstenberg and husband, Kris, of Newnan, Ga., and Joanne Flanagan of Port St. Joe; grandchildren, Casey Flanagan, Alex Flanagan, Chelsea Flanagan, Madelyn Flanagan, Lauren Freeman, Josey Freeman, Jennifer Smith, Kristen Young, Stefani Furstenberg, Kristina Furstenberg and Elizabeth Furstenberg; brother, Tom Freeman and wife, Retha; and sisters, Barbara Leavitt and husband, Bob, Geri Freeman and Cathy Carvell and husband, Mike. Funeral services for Mr. Freeman will be conducted Friday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. EST in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jessie Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, however, those who wish may make contributions to the First United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Freeman.

ROBERT ALLEN HAYDEN
Mr. Robert Allen Hayden, 55, of Parker, Fla., passed away, Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Bangor, Maine, and had lived in Panama City since 1949. He was an electronics technician and was the owner and operator of Hayden Electronics. Robert enjoyed saltwater sport fishing and loved fishing from the Panama City Beach Pier. He had many business and personal friends who will miss him. He is survived by his father, Deane S. Hayden, of Parker; two sisters, Linda Joyce Hayden and Judith Ann Hogg, both of Atlanta, Ga.; and his nieces and nephews, Kim Nunn and her husband, Jack Jr., Christine Hogg, Jack Hogg III, Maggie Nunn and Jacob Nunn, all of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Railey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Jan. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Bay County Humane Society.

BLANCHE A. HEID
Mrs. Blanche A. Heid, 73, of Panama City, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in a local nursing home. She moved to Bay County two years ago from Melbourne, Fla. Mrs. Heid was a former owner and operator of the Children's World Daycare Center and attended the First Baptist Church of Parker. She was an avid golfer, and while living in Melbourne was the president of the Women's Golf Association. Mrs. Heid is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray Picklesim. She is survived by two daughters, Joy Jones and husband, Harrison, of Panama City, and Sue Riley and husband, Eric, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; one sister, Brooks Adkins of Sandy Hook, Ky.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Heid will be conducted today, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Hartzog officiating. Interment will be held in Brevard Memorial Park in Cocoa, Fla. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Emerald Coast in memory of Mrs. Heid.

MARJORIE MAE LIMIEUX HODGE
Mrs. Marjorie Mae Limieux Hodge, 86, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Hodge was a lifelong resident of Bay County and a member of the Living Word of Faith Fellowship. She retired as a waitress after 27 years and also retired as a flea market operator. Mrs. Hodge is preceded in death by one son, Billy R. Quick. She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Lee Quick and wife, Claire, of Lynn Haven, Freddie Quick and wife, Mary Lou, and Johnny R. Quick and wife, Francis, all of Southport; two daughters, Dollie M. Hall and husband, Otis C., of Lynn Haven, and Mary Virginia Thomas and husband, Tommy, of Biloxi, Miss.; three brothers, Marvin C. Limieux and wife, Florence, of Port St. Joe, James Thomas Limieux and wife, Dorothy, of Chicago, Ill., and Glen R. Limieux and wife, Pat, of Tampa; one sister, Selma L. Brockman and husband, Lawrence, of Houston, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Hodge will be conducted Friday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Miller and the Rev. Johnny Cromer officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Audrey Lee LaGrange, 70, of Beaumont, Texas, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in Beaumont Baptist Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 10, at First Baptist Church of Campbellton with the Rev. Luther Purnphrey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. Mrs. LaGrange was born in Slocomb, Ala., on Oct. 29, 1931, to the late Aught and Mattie Lee Barnette Toole. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Toole, Bernie Toole, Donnie Toole; sisters, Earlien Toole and Jewel Toole. She is survived by her husband, Raymond James LaGrange, of Beaumont; two sons, the Rev. David F. LaGrange and wife, Geralyn, of Beaumont, Michael G.
