DEBBIE ROSE PARIS WOOD
Mrs. Debbie Rose Paris Wood, 36, of Youngstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1996 moving here from New Jersey. Mrs. Wood was employed with Allied Bendix as a line machinist for over a year. She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Kevin B. Wood, of Youngstown; mother, Michelle Langston of West Babylon, N.Y.; father, Johnny Paris of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son, Daniel Paris of Panama City Beach and one daughter, Amber Wood, of Youngstown. Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

EDWARD 'CORKY' CORKRAN
Mr. Edward "Corky" Corkran, 49, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at his home. He was a native of Birmingham, Ala., but spent most of his life in Key West, Fla., where he was in the Civil Air Patrol in high school. He had been a resident of the Panama City Beach area since 1991, coming here from San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Corkran spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1991. He spent most of his service career in Texas, but also spent some time in the Far East. He enjoyed traveling and working on electronics and computers. He was a member of Hiland Park United Methodist Church and an associate member of Branch 346 FRA. Mr. Corkran is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debra L. Corkran, of Panama City Beach; his daughter, Heather Corkran of Panama City Beach; his mother, Earlene Corkran, of Jasper, Ala.; two half-brothers, Jimmy and Johnny Corkran, both of Alabama; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward P. Corkran. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, Jan. 12, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hiland Park United Methodist Church, 2420 E. Baldwin Road, Panama City, FL 32405 or Covenant Hospice, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, FL 32405.

MINNIE MAE McFATTER
Minnie Mae McFatter born Feb. 14, 1910, a lifelong resident of Washington County went to be with the Lord at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at age 91, leaving her son, James Kenneth McFatter and wife, Geraldine, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; a sister, Donnie Lee Waller, of Chipley; 11 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband T.L. (Ranzy) McFatter; son, T.L. McFatter Jr.; and daughter, M.E. Adkison. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Bonnett Pond Church with the Revs. Corbin Hicks, Rick Lovett and Teddy Bias and Leon Jenkins officiating.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 12, at Brown Funeral Home, Chipley. Those asked to serve as active pallbearers are Keith Adkison, Kevin Adkison, Kerry Adkison, Steven McFatter, Kenny McFatter, and Mike McFatter, her grandsons.

MALON SMITH SR.
Mr. Malon Smith Sr., 69, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at a local hospital. Born in Geneva, Ala., he had been a resident of the Panama City area for most of his life, coming here from Graceville, Fla. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956, and was employed with Western Auto Service for 30 years as a retail store manager. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Hazel Margaret Smith, of Panama City; a daughter, Lesley Dawn Smith, of Panama City; sons, Malon John Smith and his wife, Joan, and Dale Owen Smith and his wife, Jean, all of Panama City; granddaughters, Sara Jean Smith and Carrie Ann Smith, both of Panama City; and a grandson, Jessie Malon Smith, of Panama City. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Nancy Smith; and a brother, Dan Smith. Funeral services will held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Tyman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Dale Smith, Malon Smith, Charles Gunter, Horrace Williams, Danny Smith and Neil Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Charlie Cook. ANNABELLE A. ALLEMORE
Mrs. Annabelle A. Allemore, 91, of Port St. Joe, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 12, 2002, at Gulf Pines Hospital. A native of Thibodeaux, La., she had been a resident here since 1937 and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Altar Society and the Gulf Pines Hospital Auxillary. Survivors include her son, Norman Francis Allemore and wife, Ellen Frances, of Gulfaire; her daughter, Jane Carol Allen and husband, Ferrell, of Port St. Joe; her grandchildren, Fran Allen Lucas and husband, Mark, Stephen Ferrell Allen and wife, Debbie, William Joseph Allen and wife, Judy, and Julie Carol Thompson and husband, Billy; also her sister, Bernice Ory, of Atlanta, Ga. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. EST Tuesday at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, conducted by Fr. Tom Guido. Interment will follow in the family plot in Holly Hill Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. today. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

LEONARD A. MATLOCK JR.
Leonard A. Matlock Jr., a resident of Dalkeith, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at a local hospital. Mr. Matlock was a native of Gardendale, Ala., and had been a resident of the Wewahitchka area for the past 34 years. Mr. Matlock attended Auburn University and was a communications engineer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He was a volunteer Emergency Technician with the Wewahitchka Ambulance Squad, a member of the Dalkeith Volunteer Fire Department, and was a strong supporter of the Wewahitchka Public Library. Survivors include his wife, Ann S. Matlock of Dalkeith; two children, George V. Matlock and wife Jeryl of Tallahassee, and Leonard Augusta Matlock III and wife, Patricia, of Conesus, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Chelsea Ann Matlock, Colleen Jo Matlock, Evan Carter Matlock, and Logan Rubel Matlock; one sister, Marlene Matlock Whitfield McNair and husband, Alan, of Wewahitchka; a niece, Kendyl Whitfield Sparkman; and two nephews, Joseph Kenneth Whitfield III, and Jason Matlock Whitfield. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. CST Tuesday from the graveside at Buckhorn Cemetery. Interment will follow. There will be no public viewing or visitation. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Marlene Matlock Whitfield McNair at 559 S. State 71 in Wewahitchka. SUSIE 'MOZELLE' DAVIS
Ms. Mozelle Davis, 87, of 312 Harlem Ave., Panama City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family members. Ms. Davis was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Ms. Davis was the deli supervisor of Sunshine No. 2 for over 20 years and was the manager of Mozelle's Restaurant which was named in her honor. She was born in Jackson County, on Oct. 28, 1914, and moved to Panama City in 1942. She is survived by sons, Don Davis and Carl Davis of Labelle, Fla., Wayne Davis of Panama City; daughter, Carolyn Davis of Panama City; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends and care givers. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Peggy Ann Davis; parents, W.D.R. and Emma Melvin; 15 brothers and sisters; grandson, Ward Facer; and daughter-in-law, Rosie Davis. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Craig Brannon and Bishop Johnny Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the Kynesville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Kynesville, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The family will be at the home of Carolyn Davis, 3104 E. Fourth Street, Panama City. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Covenant Hospice in memory of Susie Davis. Ressie B. (Rex) Eddins, of Panama City, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, in a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1930 moving here from Dothan, Ala. She was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Rex was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Willie Ivey Eddins; three sisters, Essie Cain, Lucille Simms, Willie Curenton; and her parents, Margaret and John Montgomery; and her dear grandson, Tony Eddins. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret E. Northcutt and her husband, John, of Panama City; son, John F. Eddins and his wife, Rita, of Orange Park, Fla.; sister, Floree Cloud of Wewahitchka; four grandchildren, Rhonda Hyler and husband, Larry, of Lynn Haven, Steven Northcutt and wife, Felicia, of Pace, Fla., Kathy Pons and husband, Michael, of Panama City Beach, Jean Ann Vukota and husband, Vanja, of Jacksonville; four great-grandchildren, Jenna Ann Northcutt, Chad Northcutt, Jacob Michael Pons, Grace Vukota. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Those desiring to may make a contribution of the St. Andrew Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice in memory of Rex Eddins.
