Mr. Kenneth W. Coble, 61, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in a local hospital. Born in Laredo, Texas, he moved to Panama City in 1993 from Houston, Texas. Mr. Coble was a draftsman with A&S Building Systems and a Methodist by faith. He was also a member of the Parkway Lions Club. Mr. Coble is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Louis Coble. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Coble of Panama City; mother, Juanita Miller Welch of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sons, Kenny Coble of San Antonio, Texas, Joel Coble and wife, Penny, of New Braunfels, Texas, Kevin Yates and fiancee, Shannon, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ethan Coble and wife, Faith, of New Braunsfel, Texas; two daughters, Cindy Glenewinkle and husband, Mike, of Sequin, Texas, and Samantha Smith and her fiance, Major, of Panama City; six brothers, Benny Milam of Arlington, Texas, Larry Coble of Wimberly, Texas, Keith Coble of San Antonio, Texas, Ray Coble of Austin, Texas, Milton Grammer and James Grammer, both of Wimberly, Texas; two sisters, Rose Ellen Webster of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Nita Kay Moore of San Antonio, Texas; and 10 grandchildren, Shelly Kay, Jacque, Sasha, Kendel, Kassidy, Joel Jr., Joshua, Candy, J.J. and Eliot. Memorial services for Mr. Coble will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 30, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John C. Friedman. BETTY LOU FLAMMIA
Mrs. Betty Lou Flammia, 55, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at her residence. She was born in Suffolk, Va., raised in Richmond, Va., and had lived in Bay County since 1988. Mrs. Flammia was an administrator with Applied Research Associates, working at Tyndall Air Force Base. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved her family very much. Mrs. Flammia is survived by her husband, Lawrence Flammia of Lynn Haven; two sons, Michael Flammia and his wife, Patrice, of Warrington, Va., and Mark Flammia and his wife, Amanda, of Panama City; a brother, Richard White of Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren, Bryan, Kaitlyn, Gabrielle, and Madisyn. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Marty Bratek officiating. ANNIE LAURA PATE
Mrs. Annie Laura Pate, of Port St. Joe, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2002, in a local nursing home. Born in Conecuh County, Ala., she moved to Port St. Joe in 1992 from Brooklyn, Ala. Mrs. Pate was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Church of Port St. Joe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Pate Sr.; and two sons, Lamar Pate and Wesley A. Pate. She is survived by three sons, Frank Pate Jr. and wife, Evelyn, of Port St. Joe, Bobby Pate and wife, Gerry, of Port St. Joe and Larry Pate of Montgomery, Ala.; five daughters, Montez Thomas and husband, Hebron, of Stonewall, Miss., Jean Weaver and husband, William, of Evergreen, Ala., Ann Pridgeon of Port St. Joe, Faye Cobb and husband, Marvin, of Foley, Ala., and Ealon Dillashaw and husband, Alex, of Montgomery; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Pate will be conducted Wednesday, Jan 30, in Pentecostal Holiness Church in Paul, Ala., at 2 p.m. CST with the Rev. Manuel L. Pate officiating. Interment will follow in Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 30, one hour prior to services at the church. JOSEPH JAMES ST. CLAIR JR.
Joseph James St. Clair Jr., 58, of Wewahitchka, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in his home. He worked as a Gulf County probation officer in the judge's office. He graduated from Port St. Joe High School in 1961. He was an honor graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was a honor graduate of Gulf Coast Community College Correctional Officers School. He owned the St. Clair Funeral Home in Port St. Joe from 1973 to 1981. He was a member of Gideon's International, and a former member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the Port St. Joe Jaycees. He was a past member of the American Cancer Society, a past member of the Kiwanis Club, and was the past master of the Port St. Joe Masonic Lodge No. 100-F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph James (Jinks) St. Clair Sr. and Vermell St. Clair. He is survived by his wife, Connie Birmingham St. Clair of Wewahitchka; two daughters, Angela St. Clair Creel and her husband, Keith, of Thomasville, Ga., Amy St. Clair of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandson, Elijah (Eli) James Creel of Thomasville; mother-in-law, Mrs. Janice Birmingham of Wewahitchka; lifelong friends, David and Pat Ventry of Tallahassee, David and Penny White of Covington, Ga. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. CST in Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church, Wewahitchka, with the Rev. Neal Miller and the Rev. Claude McGill officiating. Interment will follow in Jehu Cemetery, Wewahitchka. EDWINA PARKER SWEENEY
Funeral services for Edwina Parker Sweeney, 91, of Parker, who died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in her home, will be held today at 10 a.m. in Parker United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Malson officiating. Interment will follow in Parker Cemetery. Active pallbearers are John Caister, Bobby Holmes, Ken Thomas, Ron Sarvis, Ty King and Bob Bates. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Eastern Star, Parker Chapter No. 96. BETTY JO TEMPLES ANDERSON
Betty Jo Temples Anderson, known to friends and family as B.J., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002. She attended the first three grades of school in Fort Gaines, Ga., the fourth grade in Headland, Ala., and moved with her family to Panama City, Fla., where she attended the fifth grade at Springfield Elementary School, graduated from the Millville Elementary School eighth grade as salutatorian and graduated with honors from Bay County High School, Class of 1949. She was employed throughout her lifetime, beginning with Jimmy Hentz, Hentz Super Market; L.D. Lewis, Jitney Jungle/Sunshine Food Stores; Russell Kersey, Fisher-Stinson Hardware; Joe B. Alderman, J.B. Homes, Inc.; John Bert Jinks, J.B. Jinks Construction Co. Inc.; Conley Meredith, attorney for offices of Whitey Urquhart; Charles Merchant, minister for Gulf Coast Seminary; HCA Gulf Coast Hospital under three administrators, Gibb, Schwartz, and Don Butts, her last position as director of human resources. After work she enjoyed being Past Royal Matron, Order of Amaranth; two consecutive years as president of the Panama City Pilot Club; master graphoanalyst, teaching eight basics of handwriting, speaking to organizations in and around Panama City about handwriting analysis; and square dancing. She loved writing poetry and had several poems published in the International Library of Poetry. Mrs. Anderson was also a member of Teen Timers and enjoyed organizing her Millville class reunions. Her greatest pride and joy of accomplishments are her four children, Guy Anderson, Joey Anderson, Jeri Clemmons and her husband, Roger, and Sherry Harmon and her husband, Skip, all of Panama City; grandchildren, McKenzie Anderson, Melanie Anderson, Rodney Clemmons, Kody Clemmons, Trevor Clemmons, Lindsay Harmon, Jessica Harmon, Brandy Anderson, and Brandon Anderson; great-grandchildren, Serina, Breanna, and Hunter; and her special friend, Jack Cox of Panama City. She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Harry Reginald (Reggie) Anderson; daddy, William Leslie Temples; mother, Ruby Elizabeth Hammett Temples; all of Panama City; her paternal grandparents, Henry Christopher and Willie Iola Peacock Temples of Dothan, Ala.; and her maternal grandparents, John Daniel (Jack) and Briney Elizabeth Williams Hammett of Piney Hill, Ga. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Everage officiating. WILLIAM WALLACE BULLARD
Mr. William Wallace Bullard, 91, of 334 N. Bonita Ave., Panama City, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at his home. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. Mr. Bullard served in the U.S. Army Air Corps three years during World War II. He was a member of Millville Advent Christian Church since 1954. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Ammon Bullard of Panama City; one son, Wilburn W. Bullard and his wife, Joan, of Auburndale, Fla.; one daughter, Wilma Jean Platts and her husband, Jeffery Platts, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one granddaughter, Melanie K. Bullard Athey and her husband, Scott ; one grandson, John Bullard and his wife, Ingrid, of Brandon, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Mandy of Brandon, Fla.; one great-grandson, Cody; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Bullard was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Bullard Burlison, Gladys Bullard Monty, and June Bullard Aaron. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Buchanan and Mr. Wendall Owenby officiating. Mrs. Gladys Brys, 85, of Durham, Conn., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at a local hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Leona Camozzi of Middletown, Conn.; a son, Myron Camozzi of Deep River, Conn.; a brother, Warren Heidenis of Port Charlotte, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Brys; a daughter, Gloria Eddie; and two sisters, Edith Fisher and Lillian Cowperthwaite. BILLY DAVID DICKTEN
Mr. Billy David Dickten, 53, of Panama City died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at his residence. Born in Jackson, Tenn., he had been a resident of Panama City since 1981. Mr. Dickten was of the Baptist faith and a combat veteran of Vietnam while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the AmVets. Mr. Dickten is survived by his mother, Jo Evelyn Vires of Panama City; two sons, David Webb Dickten and wife, Angie, and William Randall Dickten, all of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Theresa Gail Nolin and husband, J.D., of Panama City; one grandchild, Ann Claire Dickten of McGee, Miss.; niece, Jennifer Nolin; and nephew, Jacob Nolin, both of Panama City. Funeral services for Mr. Dickten will be conducted Friday, Feb. 1, in the George A. Smith and Son Funeral Home in Jackson, Tenn. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
