JENNIE BRUNDAGE ALEXANDER
Jennie Brundage Alexander, devoted widow of the late Hugh Alexander and beloved stepmother of three daughters and nine grandchildren, died peacefully on her 95th birthday, Feb. 21, 2002. She was a longtime resident of Lynn Haven, having been born and reared in Evergreen, Ala. Mrs. Alexander spent most of her adult life working in the main bank of Milton, Fla., and as the City Clerk for the City of Lynn Haven, Fla. The family would like to express their gratitude to Covenant Hospice and the staff of St. Andrews Nursing Home for their loving attention to Jennie. A graveside service in the Lynn Haven Cemetery is planned for her surviving family and friends on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. with Southerland Family Funeral Home conducting the funeral arrangements.

SOON YE CHOE
Mrs. Soon Ye Choe, age 52, of Callaway, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at a local hospital. She was born in Seoul , Korea, and had lived in Panama City since 1986. She was the owner and operator of the Seoul Garden Restaurant on Tyndall Parkway, and was a member of the Rock Spring Korean Church. She is survived by her husband, Sun Choe, of Callaway; one daughter, Heejae Choe, of Panama City; and one son, Seung J. Choe, of Panama City; one brother; three sisters; and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Panama City Korean Church with the Rev. Jin Kong officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Mike Aguiar, Alexander Kim, Dr. Kwangha Lee, Dr. Arden Jensen, Dr. Bruce Buhrow and Young Subyu. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Reed Finney, Dr. Robert Joseph, Dr. Alex Na, and Willie Pollard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m.

LOWELL EARL HAMMON
Lowell Earl Hammon, 48, of Panama City Beach, passed away suddenly Feb. 22, 2002. Lowell was born in DeKalb County, Ala., and grew up in Panama City. He was Presbyterian by faith. Lowell was preceded in death by two younger brothers, Airman First Class Nathan Hammon, USAF, and Mark Hammon of Gallup, N.M. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Mary Hammon of Milan, N.M.; daughter, Charlotte Hammon of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers Paul Hammon Jr. and Robert Hammon of Panama City Beach, Carroll Hammon of Leeds, Ala., Phillip Hammon of Albuquerque, N.M., Albert Hammon of Pine Hill, N.M.; and sisters, Celeste Duncan of Birmingham, Janice Wagner of Bushland, Texas, and Dia Hammon of Milan, N.M.; in addition to many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the home of Robert and Lorraine Hammon, 418 LeGrand Ave., Panama City Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lowell Hammon Memorial Fund at NCSC Federal Credit Union to benefit Lowell's daughter, Charlotte.

CLARA BELL SPEIGNER LASSITER
Mrs. Clara Bell Speigner Lassiter of Freeport, Fla., died Feb. 21, 2002, in Niceville, Fla. She was born on July 21, 1908, in Enterprise, Ala. Mrs. Lassiter is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Ephram Lassiter. She is survived by four children, Marion Edward Lassiter, Robert Earl Lassiter, Judy Ann Richardson and Linda Joyce Alderman; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Lassiter will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

GERALDINE Y. STEVENS
Mrs. Geraldine Y. Stevens of Southport died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, in a local hospital. Born in Huntington, W.Va., she had been a resident of Bay County since 1984. Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker and a member of the Hiland Park United Methodist Church. She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy M. and Vincent Brechtel of Southport. Funeral services for Mrs. Stevens will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hiland Park United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Stevens.

WILLIAM W. VICKERY
William W. Vickery, 93, of Tallahassee died Monday Feb. 25, 2002, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Marianna where he had lived most of his life. He was retired from Talquin Electric Company in Quincy. He was of the Assembly of God Faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jecoliah Morris Vickery; his parents, Elijah and Mary Vickery; two sisters, Katie B. Land and Edith Walters; and a brother, Perlan Vickery. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Richards Vickery of Tallahassee; two sons, Horace Vickery and wife, Adalene, of Mobile, Vernon Vickery and wife, Dorothy, of Chattahoochee; two daughters, Leverne Dunham and husband, James, of Marianna, Shidey Taylor and husband, George, of Tallahassee; one stepdaughter, Lori Welch of Tallahassee; three brothers, Russell Vickery of Blountstown, Ivan Vickery of Cottondale and Eadie Vickery of Alford; three sisters, Iris Bauldree of Gretna, La., Beatrice Kent of Alford and Doris Ward of Vernon; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. CST Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Maddox Chapel with the Revs. Brent Vickery, Van Vickery and James Vickery officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Steel City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Maddox Chapel.

FREDERICK H. ALLEN
Frederick H. Allen, 63, of Port St. Joe, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Panama City. A native of New York, he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of active service. He also retired from the Department of Corrections after 10 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe. He is survived by his wife, Sara (Tharpe) Allen; and daughter, Tonya Allen Knox and her husband, Mike, of Port St. Joe. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Allen. He has two sisters, Sue House and her husband, Dale, and Shirley Schnettler of Cleburne, Texas; five grandchildren, Chad Allen, Sarah Allen, Caroline Allen, Christopher Knox and Coy Knox; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, at 11 a.m. EST at First United Methodist Church in Port St. Joe with the Rev. Dave Fernandez, the Rev. Jesse Evans and the Rev. Oliver Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. The honor guard from Tyndall Air Force Base will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Department of Corrections, the Gulf County Speedway crew, and Linda's Coffee gang. Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church today from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. EST.

Beauregard Russell Diedrich, born Dec. 18, 2001, passed away Feb. 26, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Chris and Sherry Diedrich; sister, Riley Elana Shea; paternal grandparents, Mike and Kathy Diedrich; maternal grandparents, Tom and Rena Herndon; great-grandparents, Louise Beddingfield, Lois Diedrich, Peggie Wilds, and Kathleen Villadsen; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Fla. Virginia J. Hill, 71, of Glendale, Ariz., passed away Feb. 26, 2002. She was the mother of Carollee Starr, J. David Hill Jr. and Christopher W. Hill; and grandmother of five grandchildren. A Mass will be held Monday, March 4, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5510 W. Chollas, Glendale. Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Peoria, Ariz.

Laurence Hamilton Morton, 77, husband of Anne McKenzie Morton, 9 Sennet Drive, Greenville, S.C., died Feb. 24, 2002. Anne is the daughter of the late R.L. McKenzie, the first mayor of Panama City. Mr. Morton was born in Sudsbury, Ontario, Canada, and was the son of the late Rev. Richard and Edith Hamilton Morton. Mr. Morton retired from Bob Jones University in September 2001, where he had taught piano since 1957 and was head of the Piano Department. He served 33 summers at the Interlochen Arts Camp, Interlochen, Mich.,, and was former state president of the South Carolina Music Teachers. He was awarded the Order of the Palmetto. He is survived by his wife, Anne; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Sam Summers of Indianapolis, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Victoria and Samantha Summers. A memorial service was held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in War Memorial Chapel at Bob Jones University. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hayes conducting the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday. OUIDA ELIZABETH BLACKSHEAR
Mrs. Ouida Elizabeth Blackshear of 1215 W. 11th St., Panama City, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Largo, Fla. She was born on July 1, 1915, in Brooks, Ala., to Edith Sexton and Robert Hillary Hartin. Mrs. Blackshear graduated from the Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing. She then practiced as a registered nurse in Alabama and Florida. Mrs. Blackshear married William Maurice Blackshear and eventually settled in Panama City. She and her husband owned and operated the St. Andrews Drug Co. in St. Andrews and were members of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Mrs. Blackshear is preceded in death by her husband, William Maurice Blackshear; and one son, Michael Clark Blackshear. She is survived by one son, William Maurice Blackshear Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.; three sisters, Emmie Lou Williams of Dallas, Texas, Grace Brogden of Andalusia, Ala., and Janette Cowen of Brewton, Ala.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Blackshear will be conducted Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
