Infant Dynah Laura Stephens of Tyrone, Ga., died April 26, 2002. She is survived by her parents, Rusty and Dena Stephens of Tyrone, Ga.; brothers, David Stephens and Donnie Stephens of Tyrone, Ga.; grandparents, Marion and Sonny Stephens of Peachtree City, Ga., and Panama City, Fla.; Lawanda and Donald Jones of Folkston, Ga.; Billy and Elizabeth Roberts of Hilliard, Fla.; great-grandmother, Laura Johnson of Columbus, Ga.; aunts, uncle and cousins. Graveside services will be held today at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City, Ga. Carl J. Mowell & Son of Peachtree City, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.

MR. THOMAS G. (TOMMY) WARD
Mr. Thomas G. (Tommy)Ward, 63, of Chipley, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2002, in a local nursing home. Mr. Ward had been a resident of this area most of his life. He was a longshoreman for many years and ran a shrimp boat for several years. He was non-denominational by faith. Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Ward of Chipley; four daughters, Wendy Bailey and her husband, Bill of Chipley, Angelia Ward and Trina Ward, both of Callaway, Sebrina Ward of Chipley; two sons, Mark Ward and his wife Karen of Tennessee and Keith Ward and his wife Sharon of Vernon, Fla.; three sisters, Evelyn Cook of Alabama, Betty Hayes of Panama City, and Marie Ward of Texas; three brothers, Titus Ward and Tilmon Ward of Panama City and Johnny Ward of Crawfordville, Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the First Assembly of God Church in Panama City. Interment will follow in Millville cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, 247 N. Tyndall Parkway. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Carter will be held Saturday, May 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Greater Bethel AME Church, 829 Hamilton Ave., with Pastor C. Cloy officiating.. Interment will follow at St. Luke Memorial Gardens Cemetery (Jackson Community Rd.), Vernon, Fla. The remains will lie in state one and a half hours prior to service. NAOMI ELIZABETH DYAL
Mrs. Naomi Elizabeth Dyal, of Chipley, Fla., went home to join her Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2002. She was a good wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Dyal was born on Jan. 12, 1932, to Evelyn May Hulbert and Melvin Padgett. She is survived by her husband, David S. Dyal; four daughters, Regina, Barbara, Sherry and Mary; one son, David; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lonnie and Davey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Dyal will be conducted Saturday, May 4, at 4 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Day officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

JAMES COLEMAN MASHBURN
James Coleman Mashburn, 73, of Chipley, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002, in Panama City, Fla. He had resided in Chipley, Fla., for the past nine years, coming from Tallahassee. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Chipley, with the Minister Wes Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 3, at Brown Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Essie Lee Smith Mashburn, Chipley; two sons, Ronald James Mashburn and wife, Renee', Panama City, and Robert Daniel Mashburn and wife, Claudia, Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Linda Gail Hodges and husband, Patrick, Tallahassee, Marianne Mashburn and husband, Terje Brattsveen, Nashville; one sister-in-law, Gynelle Mashburn, Chipley; eight Grandchilden; and three great-grandchildren.

ROBERT JOSEPH SCHELTER
Robert Joseph Schelter, 72, of Panama City, died May 2, 2002, in a local hospital. He served for six years in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been a resident of Bay County for 11 years, moving here from Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Schelter. He is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Suzette Murch; son, Adolph Feeman; two grandchildren, Robert Murch and Donald Murch. Memorialization will be by cremation.

ALLIE MAE STANSEL
Mrs. Allie Mae Stansel, 87, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002, at a local nursing facility. She was born in Gulf County, Fla., and had lived in Panama City for 62 years. Mrs. Stansel was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stansel is survived by two daughters, Audrey Roberts and her husband, James E., of Mississippi, and Martha Hartzog of Panama City; two sons, Joseph T. Stansel and Michael Stansel, both of Panama City; four grandchildren, Dale Hartzog and Joey Stansel, both of Panama City, Karen Cantu and her husband, David, of Dallas, Texas, and Bryce Stanley and his wife, Deanne, of Douglas, Wy.; seven great-grandchildren, Shelbie, Savannah, Jayde, Jake, Josh, Ashley, and Alex; and a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Stansel Sr. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, May 5 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Hartzog officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Justin Albritton, Matt Albritton, Tyson Withers, Gary Withers, Ronnie Farris, and Michael Hartzog. BENJAMIN D. VALLELY
Mr. Benjamin D. Vallely, 79, of Panama City, Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002, at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the Panama City Beach area for the last seven years and worked as a greeter at the Panama City Beach Wal-mart. Ben was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a graduate of The University of Alabama. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ben is survived by his wife of 52 years, Audrey Vallely; daughters, Charlee Storner and Debby Carlie; granddaughters, Cara Walters and Corinne Walters; and grandsons, Ryan Carlie and Andrew Carlie. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m., Friday, May 3, at the Panama City Beach Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 505 S. Arnold Rd., Panama City Beach. Burial will be on Tuesday in St. Louis, Mo. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Missionary Fund or The American Cancer Society, 2012 A Lisenby Ave., Panama City, FL 32405 will be appreciated.

Mr. L. C. "Jake" Waters, 92, of Panama City, Fla., passed away, Thursday, May 2, 2002, at a local nursing facility. He was born in Midland City, Ala., on May 11, 1909, and had lived in Panama City since 1942. Mr. Waters was a retired pipefitter for International Paper Company, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club and enjoyed sports and fishing. He was a member of the Callaway Baptist Church. Mr. Waters is survived by a daughter, Virginia Davis and her husband, Tom, of Panama City; three step-children, Julia Becker and her husband, Lyle, of Virginia Beach, Va., Sharon Jenkins, and Tom Davis Jr. and his wife, Sarah, all of Panama City; six grandchildren, Sandra, Gregory, Brenden, Chelsa, Corey, and Britaney; four sisters, Virgie Murphy of Gainesville, Fla., Inez Patterson and her husband, A.C., of Blackshear, Ga., Katie Myrl Whalen and her husband, Vic, of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Maudine Bluecher and her husband, Bud, of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Bill Waters and his wife, Maxine, of Monroeville, Ala., and Wade Waters and his wife Helen, of Houston, Texas; a sister- in-law, Gertrude Waters of Panama City; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Amanda Waters. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 6, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. MAOMI KIRKLAND CLARK
Mrs. Maomi Kirkland Clark, age 92, of Esto, Fla., died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the home of her son, 2020 North Waukesha St., Bonifay, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Minister Dean Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Esto Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. At all other times, the family will be at the residence of a son at 2020 North Waukesha St. Bonifay, Fla. (Highway 79). Mrs. Clark was born April 18, 1910, in Geneva County, Ala., to the late G. C. and Lillian Anderson Kirkland. She had resided in Esto area for the past 82 years. She was a member of the Esto Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Clark. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah and Larry Thomasson, Auburn, Ala; one son; Joe R. Clark, Bonifay; one sister, Wynell McKinney, Holt, Fla.; one brother, Carson Kirkland, Albany, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jewell Vernel Humphries, 58, of Callaway died Friday, May 3, 2002 in a local hospital. Born in Panama City she was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Humphries was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Callaway. She is preceded in death by her father, J.P. Mayo and one son, Craig Humphries. She is survived by her mother, Nell Branning of Panama City; husband, Daniel Humphries of Callaway; one daughter, Trina Pierce of Lynn Haven; one sister, Thelma Lynch and husband, George of Wewahitchka; one sister-in-law, Mary Schnurer of Panama City and two grandchildren, Danyell Sanders and Aubrie Pierce both of Lynn Haven. Funeral services for Mrs. Humphries will be conducted Monday, May 6 at 3:30 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hayward Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Millville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
