Robert A. Russell, 69, Chassahowitzka, died Friday morning, Feb. 15, 2002, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice.

He was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and came here 12 years ago from there.

He was a retired marketing engineer.

He is survived by his son, Dale Alan Russell of Loveland, Ohio; a brother, Charles Russell of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a sister, Carol Fenton of San Diego, Calif.

Charlotte Young, 75 Homosassa

Charlotte H. Young, 75, Homosassa, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, in Inverness.

She was born March 6, 1926, in Lebanon, Ind., to Lee and Myba Hanna and came here 14 years ago from there.

Mrs. Young was a director for Boone County, Ind., Red Cross.

She was a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, Lecanto.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, M. Clair Young of Homosassa; son, Jeff C. Young of Lake Hamilton; two daughters, Laurinda (David) Hunley of Fishers, Ind., and Stephanie (Mike) Walters of Lafayette, Ind.; two brothers, Tom Hanna of Okeechobee and James Hanna of Hillsboro, Wis.; one sister, Mary Beth Bronnenberg of New Castle, Ind.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marie Anna Brookman, 88 Inverness

Marie Anna Brookman, 88, Inverness, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Mariner Health Care of Inverness.

She was born June 28, 1913, in Joliet, Ill., to Charles and Margaret (Khram) Morgan. She came here in 1995 from Gardena, Calif.

Mrs. Brookman was a homemaker.

She was Protestant.

Surviving are two sons, Harold Brookman of Gardena, Calif., and Edwin Brookman of Crest Hill, Ill.; one daughter, Gloria Stratton of Inverness; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Brookman; a daughter, Martha York; and her husband, Herald.

Beatrice Camara, 83 Longwood

Beatrice Camara, 83, Longwood, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the home of her niece following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mrs. Camara was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Fall River, Mass., to Marianno and Francelina Medeiros. She moved to central Florida from Taunton, Mass., in 1973.

She enjoyed needlework and was a member of Florida Hospital Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Manuel Camara of Longwood; daughter, Tarley Talbot of Providence, R.I.; sister, Ilda Dever of Inverness; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas Hamilton, 78 Homosassa

Thomas J. Hamilton, 78, Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville.

He was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Orange, N.J., to John C. and Georgianna (Friel) Hamilton. He came here 16 years ago from Newark, N.J.

Mr. Hamilton was a retired lieutenant for the Newark Police Department with 29 years of service.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and was with the original crew serving on the USS North Carolina.

He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa; the Midstate Golf Association; past commander and lifetime member of the Newark Police VFW Post 1439 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 12 of Newark, N.J.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Peggy (Beckley) Hamilton of Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa; two sons, Thomas J. Hamilton of Randolph, N.J., and Brian D. Hamilton of Cape May Court House, N.J.; four grandchildren, Tory Hamilton, David Hamilton, Keirsten Hamilton and Erika Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard Mebert, 58 Beverly Hills

Richard D. Mebert, 58, Beverly Hills, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Inverness.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he came here in 1987 from Staten Island, N.Y.

Mr. Mebert was a security guard.

He liked to play baseball and shoot pool and was an avid hunter.

He was Catholic.

He is survived by one brother, Robert Mebert of Beverly Hills; one sister, Dorothy Balasa of Crystal River; four nephews and one niece.

Harry Utter Jr., 89 Pinellas Park

Harry M. Utter Jr., 89, Pinellas Park, formerly of Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at The Lodge at Mainlands, Pinellas Park.

He was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Harry M. and Carrie (Strausz) Utter Sr. He came here 25 years ago from Fair Lawn, N.J.

Mr. Utter retired in 1977 as vice president for the former Seamans Bank For Savings of Manhattan, N.Y., with 45 years of service.

He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Crystal River, and for many years he served as an usher and on the board of finance for St. Timothy Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Homosassa Springs, very active in the past, and had years of perfect attendance. Along with his wife he sang at one time with the Sugarmill Woods Chorale.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, in August 1995.

Surviving are one son, Timothy Monroe Utter of Phillipsburg, N.J.; two daughters, Janet D. Krauss of St. Petersburg and Barbara J. Aliotti of Seminole; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Frank Bertrand, 80 Crystal River

Frank Allen Bertrand, 80, Crystal River, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at his home.

He was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Reno, Nev., to Matthew and Charlotte (Allen) Bertrand. He came here from Austin, Nev., in 1998.

Mr. Bertrand was a retired judge.

He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Madge I. Bertrand of Crystal River; sister, Estelle Shanks of Austin, Nev.; three stepdaughters, Barbara Cary of Silver Springs, Nev., Kay Argo and May Hessler, both of Crystal River; a niece, Barbara Dory of Fallon, Nev.; 11 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

Dale Boland Sr., 83 Lecanto

Dale T. Boland Sr., Lecanto, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Life Care Center in Lecanto.

He was born Nov. 16, 1918, in Struthers, Ohio. He has been a winter resident in Lecanto from Youngstown, Ohio, for 27 years. Before retirement in 1977, he was an iron craftsman with the Structural Ironworkers Union Local No. 207 of Youngstown.

When in Florida, he attended First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River and for more than 50 years he was a member of the Austintown Community Church, Austintown, Ohio, where he remained very active in church work.

Mr. Boland was a 32nd Degree Mason and past master of St. Albans Masonic Lodge No. 677, A&FM, St. Johns Commandry Chapter No. 93 and Buechner Council Masonic Lodge No. 107, all of Youngstown; a member of the American Legion Post No. 737, Lake Milton, Ohio, and the Order of the Eastern Star Miriam Chapter No. 278, Youngstown.

He enjoyed woodworking, coin and stamp collecting and gardening. Along with his wife, he traveled to various parts of the world. Mr. Boland loved music and was a self-taught organ player.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Louise Boland of Lecanto and Youngstown, Ohio; son, Dale T. Boland of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, David T. Boland of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Melanie J. Boland of Columbus, Ohio; and two sisters, Mildred Marie Giles of New Wilmington, Pa., and Lucille Thomas-Speakman of Citrus Springs. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Deborah Butler, 33 Floral City

Deborah Ann Butler, 33, Floral City, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Floral City.

She was born Oct. 16, 1968, in St. Petersburg to Thomas and Beverly Ann Long. She came here from St. Petersburg in 1972.

She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church, Floral City.

Surviving are her husband, W. Allen Butler of Floral City; daughter, Cheryl Ann-Marie Butler of Floral City; father, Thomas Dodson Long Jr. of Floral City; mother, Beverly Ann Long of Floral City; and brother, Thomas D. Long III of Inverness.

Luis Chaluisan Sr., 74 Formerly of Inverness

Luis Daniel Chaluisan Sr., 74, Cumming, Ga., formerly of Inverness, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Marietta, Ga.

He was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, to Emelio and Justina (Rogriguez) Chaluisan. He was a 15-year resident of Inverness before moving to Cumming, Ga., two years ago.

Mr. Chaluisan retired from Acme National Refrigeration in Astoria, N.Y., as a production manager with 26 years of service.

He was Catholic.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Arlene (Ferran) Chaluisan; one son, Luis D. Chaluisan Jr. of Belle Glade; two daughters, Joanne Luchkowec of Cumming, Ga., and Laura Bermudez of Lake Ridge, Va.; three brothers; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
