William B. Wiseman

EAST PALATKA - William B. Wiseman of East Palatka died Tuesday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 81.

Mr. Wiseman served in the Army Air Force during World War II.

Born in Mobile, Ala., he moved from Roanoke, Va., to East Palatka 40 years ago.

He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include a brother, Delano Wiseman of East Palatka; and a sister, Juanita Anderson of East Palatka.

Ella Mae Brazil

BROOKER - Ella Mae Brazil of Brooker died Monday at Shands at AGH in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 89.

Mrs. Brazil was a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Brooker.

Mrs. Brazil was a member of Pallbearers Lodge No. 7 and served on the stewardess board at Greater Bell United Methodist Church in Brooker.

Survivors include a daughter, Mae Bea Brazil Lee of Gainesville; a son, Eugene Wilson of Brooker; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Harriett Anne Thompson Conrad

ISLAND GROVE - Harriett Anne Thompson Conrad of Island Grove died Monday at her home. She was 75.

Mrs. Conrad was a retired executive secretary for Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus, Ind.

Born in Hanover, Ind., she moved from Columbus, Ind., to Island Grove 18 years ago. She attended Hanover College in Hanover.

Mrs. Conrad was a Presbyterian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Conrad.

Survivors include a son, Michael K. Conrad of Island Grove; and two grandchildren, Marlena Conrad and Amanda Conrad, both of Island Grove.

Ingride Yolandy Peoples Fisher

Ingride Yolandy Peoples Fisher of Gainesville died unexpectedly Monday at her home. She was 32.

Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker and a member of Second Morning Star Missionary Church.

She was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and a graduate of Buchholz High School.

Survivors include her husband, Lennon Fisher Sr. of Gainesville; a son, Lennon Fisher Jr. of Gainesville; a daughter, Shalennon Fisher of Gainesville; her mother, Carrie E. Johnson of Tampa; her father, Leroy Williams Sr. of Sarasota; a stepfather, George A. Peoples Sr. of Gainesville; six sisters, Climmie T. Johnson, Cynthia Peoples Anderson and Sandra Williams, all of Gainesville, Hope Peoples, Jewell Peoples and Blonco Evens, all of Tampa; six brothers, George A. Peoples Jr. of Sanford, Tim Curry and Tim Williams, both of Gainesville, Leroy Williams Jr. of Sarasota, James Williams of St. Petersburg and Theron Williams of Sarasota.

Vaughn Bernard Hardee

CHIEFLAND - Vaughn Bernard Hardee of Chiefland died Tuesday at Ayers Health and Rehab Center in Trenton. He was 103.

Mr. Hardee, a retired mechanic, was a partner in a Ford dealership in Cedar Key. He later owned Hardee Motor Service and after retirement, earned a music degree and taught piano lessons. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chiefland area. "He lived to serve the Lord, " said Franny Hardee, the wife of Mr. Hardee's grandson Chris Hardee. "He was a very honest, hard-working individual and was willing to do anything for anybody. They don't make them like him anymore."

Mr. Hardee was a Sunday school teacher, trustee, choir director and administrative board member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed writing music and fishing.

Mr. Hardee was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Hardee.

Survivors include a son, Charles V. Hardee of Chiefland; a sister, Emma Lee Cannon of Chiefland; two grandchildren, Diane Petersen and Chris Hardee, both of Chiefland; and three great-grandchildren.

Marie Hinkley

Marie Hinkley of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at AGH after a long illness. She was 86.

Mrs. Hinkley was a homemaker.

Born in Reading, Pa., she moved to Gainesville 48 years ago.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and of the Auxiliary of Shands at AGH.

Survivors include her husband, Henry R. Hinkley of Gainesville; four sons, James Hinkley of Pittsboro, N.C., the Rev. David Hinkley of Adamstown, Pa., William Hinkley of Centerville, Ohio, and the Rev. Dr. Kerry Hinkley of St. Augustine; three sisters, Kathryn Wagner, Dorothy Henry and Betty Swavley, all of Venice; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Hospice of North Central Florida.

Leona Monroe Jackson

WILLISTON - Leona Monroe Jackson of Williston died Saturday at Shands at the University in Gainesville. She was 78.

Mrs. Jackson was a retired nurse's aide. She was a lifelong resident of Williston. Mrs. Jackson received a nursing degree from Central Florida Community College.

She was a former secretary, treasurer and Sunday school superintendent at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Williston.

Survivors include a sister, Lessie Belle Gillispie of Gainesville; and two brothers, Joseph Monroe and Freddie Monroe, both of Williston.

Ethel Mae Jones

Ethel Mae Jones of Gainesville died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 72.

Mrs. Jones was a retired housekeeper. Born in Cordele, Ga., she moved from Alabama to Gainesville 49 years ago.

She was a member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Chiefland.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Jones.

Michael Edward Lyons

MICANOPY - Michael Edward Lyons of Micanopy died April 24 in Santa Cruz, Costa Rica, due to injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was 50.

Mr. Lyons was a jeweler.

Born in Philadelphia, he moved to Micanopy 10 years ago.

Survivors include his parents, Charles and Mary Lyons of Venice; and two brothers, Robert Lyons of Sarasota and Charles Lyons of Bel Air, Md.

Rodney Rush

Rodney Rush of Gainesville died Tuesday at his home after a brief illness. He was 58.

Mr. Rush was a cook at International House of Pancakes.

Born in Highland Falls, N.Y., he moved from Saginaw, Mich., to Gainesville 30 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lee Rush of Gainesville; three sons, Rodney Rush of Fairbanks, Alaska, Keith Rush of Ocala and Michael Rush of Gainesville; a daughter, Yolanda Rush of New Orleans; two stepsons, Milton Ellis and Ronnie Ellis, both of Gainesville; three stepdaughters, Cynthia Ellis and Kimland Lewis, both of Gainesville, and Jaueline Gibson of Los Angeles; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Beulah Ward McClain

Beulah Ward McClain of Gainesville died Sunday at Gainesville Convalescent Center after a short illness. She was 77.

Mrs. McClain was a retired machinist for General Dynamics.

Born in Electra, Texas, she moved to Gainesville 11 years ago.

Survivors include a sister, Agnes Acker of Irving, Texas; two daughters, Mary Kathryn Mills of Gainesville and Barbara Gail Redden of Whitesboro, Texas; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Hella Paramithiotti

Hella Paramithiotti of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 73.

Mrs. Paramithiotti was a homemaker.

Born in Rome, Italy, she moved to Gainesville six years ago.

Mrs. Paramithiotti was a Catholic.

Survivors include a daughter, Ludovica Weaver of Gainesville; a son, Corrado Paramithiotti of Keene, N.H.; and two grandchildren.

Mary Ann Watkins Statham

CEDAR KEY - Mary Ann Watkins Statham of Cedar Key died Monday at Shands at AGH in Gainesville. She was 56.

Mrs. Statham was an entrepreneur and was employed in real estate.

Born in Providence, R.I., she grew up St. Petersburg and North Carolina, and moved to Cedar Key 20 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, James C. "Frog" Statham of Cedar Key; a son, Kenneth Andrew Edmunds of Cedar Key; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Kelly of Odessa; two brothers, Kenneth Raymond Misner of Tallahassee and Andrew John Misner of Tampa; and three grandchildren.
