John F. Weber Sr.

ALACHUA - John F. Weber Sr. died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 79.

Mr. Weber was born in Pennsylvania and spent most of his life in Windsor, N.J. He moved to Alachua in 1993.

He worked as a yardman with Mach Lumber Co. in Windsor. He retired as a maintenance worker from the McKnight School in Hightstown, N.J., in 1987.

He was a member of St. Madeline Catholic Church in High Springs.

He enjoyed gardening and working with small farm animals.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Margaret Weber of Alachua; sons John F. Weber Jr. and Daniel Weber, both of Alachua; a daughter, Margaret Zucatti of Jacobstown, N.J.; a brother, Paul Weber of New Jersey; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Donna C. Hodge

CROSS CITY -- Donna Catherine Hodge died Friday at her home. She was 61.

She was born in Colonial Heights, Va., and moved to Cross City five years ago from New Bern, N.C.

She was a homemaker, mother and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Hodge; daughters Tanya Holloway of Petersburg, Va., Melissa Cortez, Zandra Hollis and Kimberly Brunello, all of New Bern, Kindra Tatum of Hopewell, Va., and Tammy Shean of Irondale, Ohio; sons Donald Hodge of New Bern and Anthony Jones of Tallahassee; sisters Sandra Faye Teupk of Petersburg and Bonnie Gail Holloway of Colonial Heights; her brother, Linnie Sherill Smith of Petersburg; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

James T. Jernigan

James Theodore Jernigan died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 57.

He was born in Jacksonville, and he moved to Gainesville in 1970.

He was president of Professional Funding Systems. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville and attended Florida State University on a football scholarship. He graduated from FSU with a bachelor's degree in marketing.

He was a member of the Air National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie S. Jernigan; and his son, Jason C. Jernigan.

Daniel I. Phillips

ALACHUA -- Dr. Daniel I. "D.I." Phillips died Friday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 79.

Dr. Phillips was born in White Springs and has lived in the Alachua area for 50 years. He pastored at churches in cities throughout the country, including Gainesville, Frostproof and Cross City. He was pastor of the High Springs Church of God., served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a member of the Westwood Hills Church of God.

Dr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Louise Phillips.

Survivors include daughters Joyce Pace of Pahokee and Regina Cain of Alachua; sons David Phillips of Gainesville and Derryl Phillips of Williston; a brother, A.D. Phillips of Gainesville; and nine grandchildren.

Darlene D. Sapp

Darlene Delores Sapp died Sunday at Shands at AGH. She was 55.

She was born in Otter Creek and had lived in Gainesville for 33 years.

Ms. Sapp was manager of Lil' Champ convenience store.

She was a Pentecostal and attended Dove World Outreach Center.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Sapp of Hawthorne; a sister, Naoma L. Hunlock; brothers John W. Crews of Orange Park, Karl R. Crews of Pittsview, Ala., Earl C. Crews of Archer, and Roger Crews and Lash Crews, both of Chiefland; and three grandchildren.

Margaret W. Tallent

CHIEFLAND -- Margaret W. Tallent died Friday in Gainesville. She was 80.

She was born in Concord, N.C., and moved to Chiefland five years ago from Starke.

She was a retired real estate agent in Concord.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Tallent; her son, Timothy Tallent of Concord; daughters Judy Walden, Janice Hammett and Bunny Adams of Crystal River; her sister, Betsy Hatley of Concord; seven grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.

Haynsworth F. Williams

NEWBERRY -- Haynsworth F. "H.F." Williams died at his residence on Saturday. He was 75.

He was born in Fort Pierce and lived in Gainesville most of his life.

Mr. Williams was a retired maintenance supervisor at Santa Fe Community College. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was past president of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1205. He was also member of Gainesville Masonic Lodge 41, Scottish Rites Bodies, York Rites Bodies, Morocco Shrine Temple and Gainesville Chapter 44 Order of the Eastern Star.

He was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church of High Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Williams; a son, Frank Williams of Hillsboro, N.J.; a daughter, Jane Burnette; brothers Earl Williams of High Springs and Ran Williams of Dunnellon; his sister, Wanda McClean of Dunnellon; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mary Carolina Bowden

WILLISTON - Mary Carolina Bowden, a lifelong resident of Williston, died Monday at Nature Coast Hospital in Williston. She was 87.

Mrs. Bowden was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ of Williston.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking and reading.

Survivors include sons James L. Edwards of Cocoa and Dewitte F. Edwards of Williston; brothers Ralph Reeves of Orange Springs and B.L. Reeves of Jacksonville; sisters Betty Micheletti of Williston and Patricia Ann Matchett of Orange Springs; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Monice Bryant Bridges

Monice Bryant Bridges of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at AGH. She was 88.

Mrs. Bridges was born in Bell and moved to Gainesville in 1943.

She was a retired bookkeeper for SunTrust, formerly Citizen's & Sun Bank. She was a member of the Omega Master Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 50 years. She also was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Gainesville. She also sang in the church choir for more than 50 years.

She has no immediate survivors.

Ralph L. Dulaney

Ralph L. "Red" Dulaney died Monday at his residence in Crystal River. He was 78.

The former Williston resident was a Presbyterian and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, B.J. Dulaney of Crystal River; sons Tom Dulaney of Marietta, Ga., and John Dulaney of Bronson; daughters Sherry Rick of Palatka and Mary Sakelson of Gainesville; and five grandchildren.

Annie E. Boka-Hunt

Annie Elizabeth Boka-Hunt died Tuesday at her residence in Gainesville. She was 84.

Mrs. Boka-Hunt was born in Williston and moved to Gainesville from Leesburg six years ago.

She was a homemaker, and she worked at the 13th Street Pharmacy. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Leesburg.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Boka; and a son, Steven Boka.

Survivors include daughters Jo Ann Ford of Gainesville, Martha Braddy of Centerville, Ga., and Linda McCrimmon of Melrose; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
