Pamela Kathleen Coxe Zwerski

Pamela Kathleen Coxe Zwerski of Gainesville died Saturday at her home. She was 69.

Mrs. Zwerski was a retired state employee.

Born in Jamaica, she moved to Gainesville 30 years ago. She was a graduate of Alma College in Ontario, Canada.

Mrs. Zwerski was a member of the Friendship Circle at B'Nai Israel Synagogue and the Senior Friends of North Florida Regional Medical Center, and she supported the Alachua County Humane Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Zwerski.

Survivors include two daughters, Carla Lauercq of Lakeland and Diane Samuels of Amherst, N.Y.; two sons, David P. Zwerski of Rockville, Md., and Daniel P. Zwerski of Gainesville; a brother, Charles K. Coxe of Boynton Beach; and five grandchildren.

Thomas Andrew Alday

LAKE CITY - Thomas Andrew Alday died Monday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City. He was 54.

The Gainesville native moved to Lake City 10 years ago.

He was a stockman for Winn-Dixie and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He was an avid baseball fan.

He is survived by a brother, Steven Alday of Melrose.

Eva Cohen Baumhaft

Eva Cohen Baumhaft of Gainesville died Tuesday at Palm Garden. She was 89.

The New York native moved to Gainesville from Deerfield Beach in 1996.

She was a homemaker and was Jewish.

She was an opera singer in the Miami Opera Guild.

Mrs. Baumhaft enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include daughters Sandra Rosin and Phyllis Levitt, both of Gainesville, and Caryl Taub of Baltimore; a sister, Freda Hertz of Hallandale; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Eugene Dewitt Blye Sr.

STARKE - Eugene Dewitt "Bubba" Blye Sr. died Wednesday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City following an extended illness. He was 80.

Mr. Blye was born in St. Petersburg and lived in Orlando before moving to Starke six years ago.

He was a retired cement finisher, a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a member of Greater Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Raymond and Eugene D. Blye Jr., both of Starke, and Alphonso and Charles Tyrone Blye, both of Orlando; sisters Alma People and Clara Blye, both of St. Petersburg; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Betty Carroll

LAKE BUTLER - Betty Carroll died Sunday at Lake Butler Hospital. She was 58.

Mrs. Carroll was born in Birmingham, Ala., and lived in Miami and Sebring before moving to Lake Butler in 1978.

She was a nurse at Lake Butler Hospital and a member of the Lake Butler Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Carroll of Lake Butler; daughters Joy Whelan of Leonardtown, Md., Judy Ann C. Hutson of Worthington Springs and Jill Raber of Lake Butler; her parents, Henry and Lois Talbert of Lake City; a sister, Polly Ann Hobbs of New Bern, N.C.; a brother, Paul Talbert of Sebring; and three grandchildren.

James Robert Cochrane Sr.

James Robert Cochrane Sr. died Tuesday at his residence in Gainesville.

He was 79.

Mr. Cochrane was born in Zebland, Ky., and moved to Gainesville from Michigan in 1985.

He was a Catholic and a construction engineer. He played the guitar and loved to fish. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Cochrane of Gainesville; a daughter, Sharon Cochrane of Gainesville; sons James Robert, Floyd Gideon and Bruce Allan Cochrane, all of Gainesville; and 13 grandchildren.

Nancy Ann Greene

Nancy Ann Greene of Gainesville died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center.

She was 67.

Mrs. Greene was born in Nashville and moved to Gainesville from Davie 1 years ago.

She was a retired bookkeeper and a collection officer in the banking industry. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Nye E. Greene of Gainesville; a son, Edward L. Beard of Anderson, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Lucille Kittles

Lucille Kittles of Fort Lauderdale died Saturday at Broward County Hospital.

She was 93.

A longtime resident of Lawtey, Mrs. Kittles attended the Bradford County public schools. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Cora Anderson of Fort Lauderdale; and three grandchildren.

Adolph August Peters

Adolph August Peters of St. Petersburg died in St. Petersburg Monday.

He was 92.

The former Gainesville resident was a retired mechanical engineer and a member of the First Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1927 to 1931.

He is survived by his wife, Elinor Peters of St. Petersburg; a daughter, Selma Sue Austin of Live Oak; a stepson, William Henry Norton of Eureka, Nev.; and five grandchildren.

Minnie Sapp

MAYO - Minnie Sapp died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 79.

Mrs. Sapp was born in Hartyard, Tenn., and lived in Mayo for most of her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Branford. She also attended Spring Ridge First Church of God in High Springs.

She is survived by her stepmother, Martha Duckett of Greensboro, N.C.; half-sisters Irene Rockett of Charlotte, N.C., Neta Jean Boleck of Greensboro, N.C., and Viola Carter of Greenville, S.C.; and half-brothers Sam Duckett Jr. of Asheville, N.C., and Vernon Duckett of Hendersonville, N.C.

Mary V. Shipman

EARLETON - Mary V. "Mama Shipo" Shipman died Monday in Earleton. She was 75.

Mrs. Shipman was born in Rutland, Vt., and moved to Earleton from Washington, D.C., in 1946. She owned and operated Shipman's Fish Camp on Lake Santa Fe. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Mrs. Shipman enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Shipman.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Avera of Williston; a son, Mike Shipman of Earleton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
