Grace Carlyon Woodall

Grace Carlyon Woodall of Gainesville died Sunday at her home. She was 96.

Mrs. Woodall was born in Butler, N.J., and moved to Gainesville from Kissimmee in 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Kissimmee.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Taylor of Gainesville and Rosalie Hine of Lusby, Md.; two brothers, Frank Carlyon of Beaverton, Ore., and Leslie Carlyon of Butler; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Codie Dillon Arnold

HIGH SPRINGS -- Codie Dillon Arnold, the 7-month-old son of Gary and Brooke Arnold, died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida.

He was a Catholic.

In addition to his parents, Codie is survived by a sister, Jessica Lynn Arnold of High Springs; his paternal grandmother, Donna L. Arnold of High Springs; his paternal grandfather, Gary E. Arnold Sr. of Hot Springs, Ark.; and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Rita Brown of Fort White.

Sammy Stewart Bullington

HIGH SPRINGS -- Sammy Stewart Bullington died Saturday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 57.

Mr. Bullington was born in Ashburn, Ga., and moved to High Springs from Elfers in 1965.

He was a truck driver and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967.

Mr. Bullington was a softball umpire in High Springs.

Survivors include half-brothers Olton Keebler of Holder and Kimey O'Steen of High Springs; and half-sisters Betty Farmer of Elfers and Martha Keebler and Margaret O'Steen Frishkorn, both of High Springs.

Jean Lecher Czukor

LIVE OAK -- Jean Lecher Czukor died Monday at the Health Center of Lake City. She was 81.

Mrs. Czukor was born in Nanticoke, Pa., and lived in New York and Alabama before moving to Florida in 1997.

She was a homemaker. A registered nurse, she worked at McDill Field in Tampa during World War II and later with elderly and handicapped children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian P. Czukor.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ceryak of Live Oak; sons Robert Czukor of Weston, James Czukor of Holland, Pa., and William Czukor of Cataula, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

Leonard Drexel Huffaker

GRAHAM -- Leonard "Rex" Drexel Huffaker died Sunday at Bradford Terrace Nursing Home. He was 87.

The Kentucky native lived in Miami and Daytona Beach before moving to Bradford County in the early 1970s.

He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a Protestant.

Mr. Huffaker was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean McMurtry Huffaker; and a son, Leonard Bruce Huffaker.

Survivors include a son, Rex T. Huffaker of Leitchfield, Ky.; brothers Ralph Huffaker of Belleview and Claude Huffaker of Cincinnati; a sister, Virginia Bell of Woodland, Colo.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Henry Burch Montford Jr.

STARKE -- Henry Burch Montford Jr. died Sunday at the Hospice House of Gainesville following an extended illness. He was 79.

Mr. Montford was born in Wheeler County, Ga., and moved to Starke from McDonough, Ga., in 1976.

He was the retired owner and operator of Stuckey's Pecan Shop in Starke and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lewis Montford of Starke; daughters Debbie Montford Pittman of Edmond, Okla., Marsha Montford Closson of Atlanta and Cindy Montford Ross of Bonaire, Ga.; a son, Bob Montford of Lawtey; a brother, Jack Montford of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Joy Palmer of Mount Vernon, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

Edwin William Plummer Jr.

WILLISTON -- Edwin William Plummer Jr. died July 19 in Williston. He was 76.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. Plummer moved to Williston from Tampa two years ago.

He was a Catholic and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

He enjoyed giving flowers.

Survivors include daughters Claudia Rodgers Ridgard of Jacksonville, Diana Bailey of Dayton, Ohio, and Elva "Evie" Wilkerson of Bronson; sons Frank and Wesley Plummer, both of Dayton; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.

Minnie Lou Tillman

Minnie Lou "Tillie" Tillman died Sunday at her residence in Rochelle. She was 92.

The Alabama native attended Gainesville High School and later moved to Rochelle. She worked at Rutherford's, Duval Jewelry, Sears and First National Bank of Gainesville. She also worked for the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections and was a clerk at voting precinct 19.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dixon Tillman Jr.; and a son, Lester Tillman.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha Ann Gray of Sydney, Australia; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Patricia L. Wales

Patricia L. Wales of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at the University of Florida following an extended illness. She was 71.

The Gainesville native lived in Texas before returning to the area.

She was a retired nursing assistant and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wales.

Survivors include daughters Martha Wright of McKenzie, Ala., and Nancy Drummond and Laura M. Alligood, both of Gainesville; a brother, Ernest T. Lee of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ruth Buckner Hodges

Ruth Buckner Hodges died Thursday in a Gray, Tenn., nursing home. She was 79.

Mrs. Hodges was born in Burnsville, N.C., and lived in Tennessee most of her life.

Survivors include her sister, Helen Harmon of Newberry.

Floye Morgan Jordan

Floye Morgan Jordan died Friday in her home following a lengthy illness. She was 76.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Coolidge, Ga., and moved to Gainesville 44 years ago from Thomasville, Ga. She was the first manager of the Yon Hall dining room at the University of Florida and was a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Elbert G. Jordan of Gainesville; two daughters, Shirley J. Upshaw of Gainesville and Faye J. Glass of Orlando; two sons, John E. Jordan and Rick M. Jordan, both of Gainesville; one sister, Lorene Williamson of Frederick, Md.; three brothers, W.A. Morgan of Kennewick, Wash., Ronnie Morgan of Tifton, Ga., and Glenn Morgan of Valdosta, Ga.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Adrian Joseph LaBelle Jr.

Adrian Joseph LaBelle Jr. died Saturday in Shands at Alachua General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 85.

Mr. LaBelle was born in Menominee, Mich., and moved to Gainesville 47 years ago from Waukegan, Ill. He was a painting contractor and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He enjoyed fishing, wood crafting and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Bruna LaBelle of Gainesville; two daughters, Nancy Gordon of Atlantic Beach and Lucia Everette of Newberry; one son, Joseph LaBelle of St. Mary's, Ga.; two sisters, Mabel Sipple of Columbus, Ga., and Annie Priefer of Venice; and four grandchildren.
