Helen Gertrude Park

TRENTON - Helen Gertrude Park of Trenton died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 84.

Mrs. Park was born in Ocklawaha and moved to Trenton from Danville, Ill., five years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of Weirsdale Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lionel O. Park; a son, Bill Park of Trenton; and a grandchild.

Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Eugene Stungis

Thomas Eugene Stungis of Gainesville died Thursday. He was 68.

Dr. Stungis was born in Washington, Pa., and moved to Gainesville from Miami in 1975. He was a dentist, and he taught at the University of Florida Dental School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an Eagle Scout and a Catholic.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Ann Stungis of Gainesville and Marjorie K. Dufault of Newport, R.I.; a son, Tom Stungis of Gainesville; a sister, Dorothy Dierkes of Woodsfield, Ohio; and a brother, Jim Stungis of Vallejo, Calif.

Williams-Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Esta Frances Swift Austin

ARCHER -- Esta Frances Swift Austin of Archer died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 64.

Mrs. Austin lived in Fellsmere and Fort Lauderdale before moving to Archer three years ago.

She was a schoolteacher.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim Stuckey of Gainesville; a stepdaughter, Pam Kearns of Sebastian; two sisters, Helen Callis of Tulsa, Okla., and Ann Russell of Sand Springs, Okla.; three brothers, Paul Swift of Tulsa, Jesse Swift of Manford, Okla., and Sam Swift of Sand Springs; and a grandson, Garrett.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the American Diabetes Association.

Edna Mae Powers Bradley

Edna "Baby Sister" Mae Powers Bradley of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at AGH following a lingering illness. She was 73.

Mrs. Bradley was born in the Monteocha Community of Gainesville and lived in La Crosse before returning to Gainesville in 1999.

She was a retired food service employee and a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she was a missionary, deaconess and church mother.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore Bradley Sr. of Gainesville; two daughters, Evelyn Morrison of Gainesville and Sally Hatcher of Willingboro, N.J.; a son, Theodore Bradley Jr. of Willingboro, N.J.; five sisters, Mae Scott, Rhodella Cunningham and Betty Fumby, all of Gainesville, Merlene Holmes of Alachua and Dorothy Mosley of Atlanta; two brothers, Andrew Powers and Leroy Powers, both of Gainesville; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Darrell Clayton Crenshaw

Darrell Clayton Crenshaw of Gainesville died in Gainesville on Tuesday. He was 46.

The Ocala native moved to Gainesville in 1960.

He was a dental lab technician and a Seventh-day Adventist.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Clayton Crenshaw, and a brother, Kenneth Richard Crenshaw.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Hannah Sasa of Melrose; two sons, Benjamin Clayton Crenshaw and Adam Cole Crenshaw, both of Melrose; a stepson, Bo Hart of Melrose; his mother, T. Vermelle Crenshaw of Alachua; four sisters, Patsy Towns and Jeanne M. Crenshaw, both of Gainesville, and Connie Swilley and Donna Sue Crenshaw, both of Alachua; two brothers, Danny Crenshaw of Fort White and Craig A. Crenshaw of Gainesville; and a granddaughter.

Bettee Van Sycle DeSha

Bettee Van Sycle DeSha of Apopka died Tuesday in Winter Garden following an extended illness. She was 98.

The former Waldo resident was a former member of the United Methodist Church of Waldo.

She has no local survivors.

Jarrett Lee Drawdy

LAKE CITY -- Jarrett Lee Drawdy, the 3-year-old child of Amy Drawdy and Casey Starling of Lake City died Wednesday.

In addition to his parents, Jarrett is survived by his grandparents, Gene and Linda Drawdy, and Cindy and Tony Graham, all of Lake City, and Dennis and Lynette Starling of Branford; his great- grandparents, Guy and Corrine Starling and Mildred Carter, all of Lake City, Ruth Williams of Branford and Lavern Powell of O'Brien.

Junior Langford

NEWBERRY -- Junior Langford, a lifelong resident of Newberry, died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 74.

Mr. Langford was a farmer and a member of Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Beverley Ann Allen of Tennessee, Marie Toten of Trenton, Linda Davis of Alachua and Nancy Touchstone of Newberry; two sons, Ray Langford and Edgar Langford, both of Newberry; two sisters, Geri Brown and Chris Baker, both of Dunnellon; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Union Baptist Church Family Needs Ministry.

Jean Lewis

Jean Lewis of Nashville, Tenn., died May 9 in Nashville. She was 60.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Albany, N.Y., and lived in Gainesville for 28 years before moving to Nashville in 1997.

She was a dressmaker and a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Victor Lewis.

Survivors include two sons, Victor Lewis of Cary, N.C., and Jon

Lewis of Nashville; and two grandchildren, Rachel and Tyler.

Eugene Brockenbrough

HOLLISTER - Eugene "Bud" Brockenbrough of Gainesville died Saturday of cancer at North Central Florida Hospice Center in Gainesville. He was 68.

Mr. Brockenbrough moved to the area after living in Cocoa, where he was city manager. He served for two years in the U.S. Army as a specialist 3rd class. He loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Brockenbrough is preceded in death by a daughter, Celeste Story.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth Thomas of Hollister; a sister, Betty Rich Brockenbrough of Gainesville; his ex-wife, Patti Brockenbrough of Cocoa Beach; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

George Ray Cauthen Sr.

George Ray Cauthen Sr. of Gainesville died Friday at Palm Garden of Gainesville after a lengthy illness. He was 75.

Mr. Cauthen was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and owned and operated Ray's Barber Shop for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cauthen of Gainesville; a daughter, Patricia McNeal of Archer; sons George Ray Cauthen Jr. of Gainesville and Craig and Larry Cauthen, both of Alachua; sisters Doris Baker and Iris Blitch, both of Williston, and Carolyn Cribbs of Morriston; and six grandsons.

Sarah Jean Massingill

SUWANNEE - Sarah Jean Massingill died Thursday at her home. She was 49.

She moved to Suwannee from Bell in 1996.

Survivors include a son, Forest Eugene Moses Jr. of Bell; daughters Deborah Jean Moses of Bell and Tammy Teresa Moses of Suwannee; brothers Joel Massingill Jr. of Pinellas Park and Dennis Massingill of Tennessee; sisters Linda Massingill of Washington, D.C., Bonnie Massingill of Pinellas Park, Jo Ann Hughes of Indiana, Terry Massingill of Maryland, Sharlene Massingill of St. Petersburg, Frankie Massingill of Pinellas Park and Juanita Massingill of Largo; and five grandchildren.

Ethel Bell Hodge

HIGH SPRINGS - Ethel Bell Hodge died Thursday at her home. She was 80.

Mrs. Hodge was born in Starke and moved to High Springs 60 years ago. She was a meat packer and longtime employee of Copeland Sausage. She was a member of the High Springs Church of God.

Survivors include a son, Randy Hodge of High Springs; a brother, Clyde White of Orlando; sisters Blanche Smith, Jean Singleterry, Jeanette Mullins and Carolyn Wingate, all of Plant City, and Thelma Nettles of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann Nagler

Mary Ann Nagler of Gainesville died Friday at her home. She was 88.

Mrs. Nagler was born in Krakow, Poland, and came to Gainesville 18 years ago from St. Petersburg. She was a retired sales associate from Maas Brothers and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was an active member in the Alert Group and Trinity Methodist Women. She was a member of the first graduating class of Trinity Bible College in Tampa.

Mrs. Nagler was an avid birdwatcher, held a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Zenon Nagler of Gainesville; a daughter, Florence A. Cline of Gainesville; a sister, Rosalie Schneider of Detroit; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
