Edward L. Musho, of Ocala

Edward Louis Musho, of Ocala, died Friday, May 9, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Latrobe, Pa., he came here in 1993 from Fallsington, Pa.

Mr. Musho retired from U.S. Steel Corp. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; son, Edward David Musho of Levittown, Pa.; daughter, Karen Sue Schaefer of Morrisville, Pa.; brother, Sigfried Musho of Greensburg, Pa.; sister, Sophie Kellner of Yardley, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, the St. Jude's Building Fund in memory of Mr. Musho, or Hospice of Marion County.

Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, handled the arrangements.

Aram Nazarian, 85, of Oak Run

Aram Nazarian, of Oak Run, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Sunshine Gardens, Dunnellon. A native of Istanbul, Turkey, he has resided in the Ocala area since 1993, formerly of Bethesda, Md. He was 85.

Mr. Nazarian was a cartographer for the U.S. Government. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. and was a member of Angela Santos VFW Post No. 4781, Ocala.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty; daughter, Madeleine R. Semke of Wantaugh, N.Y.; and two granddaughters. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge Chapel, handled the arrangements.

Raymond C. Rogers, 72, of Ocala

Raymond Charles Rogers, of Ocala, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at home. A native of Lancaster County, Pa., he moved here in 1984. He was 72.

Mr. Rogers was of the Protestant faith and a member of Angela Santos Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4781, American Legion Post No. 284, and the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda L.; son, David L. Lewis of Lancaster, Pa.; daughter, Lynda I. Galbraith of Middletown, Pa., and four grandchildren.

Raymond G. Yaeger, 77, of Oak Run

Raymond George Yaeger, of Oak Run, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Estelle's Hospice House. A native of Queens, N.Y., he has resided in the Ocala area since 1999, formerly of Green Valley, Ariz. He was 77.

Mr. Yaeger was an engineer for G.E. Corp. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ocala. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Marian; son, David Yaeger (Nancy) of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandsons, David Yaeger and Steven Yaeger; granddaughter, Joy Yaeger; daughter, Susan Kincade of King of Prussia, Pa.; grandson, Andrew Kaufman; granddaughter, Lauren Kincade.

He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Yaeger and mother, Mary Rasmussen.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Marion County, P.O. Box 4860, Ocala, Fla. 34478, of the Cancer Society.

Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge Chapel, handled the arrangements.

Hazel C. Hamel, 78, of Fort McCoy

Hazel Catherine Hamel, of Fort McCoy, died Monday, May 5, 2003. A native of Gary, Ind., she came here 25 years ago from Dearborn, Mich. She was 78.

Mrs. Hamel was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars in Dunnellon and also a member of the Dunnellon Moose Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda "Lee" Hall of Dunnellon; mother, Norrine Drake of Fort McCoy; stepfather, Larry Guerin of Fort McCoy; three sisters, Morrine Terlikowski of Taylor, Mich., Jean Clemens of Bellview, Mich., and Mary Lariviea of Taylor, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, provided the information.

E. Alvin Williamson, 80, of Ocala

E. Alvin Williamson, of Ocala, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. Born in East Aurora, N.Y., he moved here about 14 years ago from Walkill, N.Y. He was 80.

Mr. Williamson was a retired vice principal and teacher. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; son, Edward Williamson of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Barbara Montesi of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and three grandchildren.

Donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Paul Carman, 91

Paul Herbert Carman, 91, of Dunnellon, died Friday, April 25, 2003. Born in Lake Preston, S.C., he came here in 1987 from Livonia, Mich.

Mr. Carman was a retired newspaper editor. He wrote the stylebook for the Detroit News. He started the Omaha Bee News and worked there from 1931 to 1934. He was also an editor for the Des Moines Register from 1934 to 1955, and the Detroit News from 1955 to 1976. In 1971 he was one of two editors who were removed from regular duties and assigned to a project to make the Detroit News the world's first newspaper with a computerized newsroom. The project succeeded and was rapidly copied by other newspapers.

Mr. Carman attended the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Trace Carman.

Survivors include his son, John Elwin Carman of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter, Anne Marie Christensen of Dunnellon; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Carman's honor to Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church of Citrus Springs or to Hospice of Marion County.

Joseph A. Desiderio, 81

Joseph A. Desiderio, 81, of Dunnellon, died Thursday, April 24, 2003. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved here in 1991.

Mr. Desiderio was a retired plumbing contractor. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; sons, Louis Desiderio of Staten Island, N.Y., Joseph Desiderio of North Branch, N.Y., Paul Desiderio and Peter Desiderio, both of Brooklyn, and eight grandchildren.

Albert Sheldon, 97

Albert "Pete" Sheldon, 97, of Morriston, died Sunday, April 27, 2003. Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he moved to Morriston in 1951.

Mr. Sheldon was a retired maintenance worker for AT&T.;

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley A. Wissler.

Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Esther L. Sheldon, Morriston; sons, Eugene L. Sheldon of Bartow, and Jacks A. Sheldon of Morriston; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.

Harvey L. Welsh, 75

Harvey Laurin Welsh, 75, of Ocala, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at his residence. A native of Rock Glen, Pa., he came to Ocala in 1993 from Lexington, Mass.

Mr. Welsh was a retired tech writer for Honeywell Corp. in Billerica, Mass. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea and a member of the American Legion as well as a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Ocala.

Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Dolores J.; son, Harvey Jr. and his wife Cathy of Ocala; daughter, Dana Barnes and her husband Paul of Avon, Mass.; five brothers, Kenneth Myers of Bloomsberg, Pa., Earl and Alan Myers of Hazleton, Pa., Frank and Eugene Myers of Rock Glenn, Pa., four sisters, Rose Palesky of Nuremberg, Pa., Bonnie Adams, Susanne Piaseki and Kay Riotto, all of Rock Glen, Pa.; and three grandchildren: Melissa, Andrew and Allison Welsh.

Mr. Welsh was preceded in death by a sister, the late Margaret Forte.

A memorial service took place April 25 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Ocala, with Pastor Blair Stewart officiating. Inurnment was at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with military honors.

Robert W. Blair, 74

Robert Wesley Blair, 74, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in Inverness. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he came here in 1985 from St. Petersburg.

Mr. Blair was in risk management for Florida Power. He was a member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church and a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. He was past president of Citrus Springs Horseshoe Club, member of the GWRRA Chapter in Georgia and Florida, Retred Association and the Florida Power Pioneer Club. He was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; son, Robert W. Blair Jr. of Chesterfield, Va.; daughter, Debra Jane Blair of St. Petersburg; and two grandchildren.

Betty Jo Ellis, 70

Betty Jo Ellis, 70, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Tampa, she came here in 1965 from Riverview.

Mrs. Ellis was a cake decorator employed by Signature Brands in Ocala. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Red Level, Alabama.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Koch of Dunnellon; two daughters, Terri Beaulieu and Annette Stutzman, both of Dunnellon; three brothers, Cecil Coberly of Navarre, Fla., James Clidewell of Thonosassa, and Douglas Glidewell of North Augusta, N.C.; sister, Irene Johnson of Troy, Ala.; grandson, Keith Beaulieu of Dunnellon; two granddaughters, Jaclyn Beaulieu and Nichole Stutzman-Parker, both of Dunnellon.

Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, handled the arrangements.
