Robert Stillings, 83 Hernando

Robert F. Stillings, 83, Hernando, died Friday, July 18, 2003, in Inverness.

A native of Fabyan, N.H. he was the son of Leman G. and Leona (Mason) Stillings. He moved to the area 10 years ago from Barrington, R.I.

He was retired from Westfall Manufacturing in Barrington, R.I., as plant manager where he worked for 30 years.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War where he was a captain in the U.S. Army.

He graduated from Keene State College in N.H., with a degree in teaching.

He was a member of the Retired Officers Association of Citrus County and the American Legion in Dunnellon. He was a member of the Citrus Hills Men's Golf Association and charter member of the Citrus Hills Golf and County Club. He was Protestant.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Josephine A. (Sviatek) Stillings of Hernando; two sons, Robert M. Stillings of Barrington, R.I., and Thomas J. Stillings of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Jayne Victoria Stillings, M.D., of Rosarito Beach, Mexico; two brothers, Hugh W. Stillings of Murrell's Inlet, S.C., and Richard W. Stillings of Conway, S.C.; sister, Beverly Ann Kearns of Manchester, N.H.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Celeste Tinker, 47 Inverness

Celeste Marie Jorgensen Tinker, 47, Inverness, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at her home under the care of herfamily and Hospice of Citrus County.

She was employed as a draftsman for the Central Florida and Bowsky Surveying Co.

A native of Queens, N.Y. she was born Nov. 3, 1955, to Michael and Josephine Molfetto. She came to Florida in 1973 from Comack, N.Y.

She was a member of the Eagles Aerie 3992 and the Inverness Moose Lodge Auxiliaries.

Survivors include her husband Thomas L. Tinker of Inverness; son, Eric Jorgensen serving in the U.S. Marines; stepson, Travis Tinker of Florence, S.C.; two daughters, Rachel White and her husband, Mike, of Inverness and Rebecca Krause Blanton and her husband, Matt, of Inverness; two stepdaughters, Jody Clark of Portsmith, Va., and Amanda Cobb of Greenville, S.C.; two brothers, Frank Molfetto of Mastik, N.Y., and Lawrence Molfetto of Inverness; and four grandchildren.

Kenneth Gibadlo, 76 Beverly Hills

Kenneth Gibadlo, 76, Beverly Hills, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, in Inverness.

A native of Chicago, Ill., he was born June 25, 1927, to Peter and Gertrude (Osuch) Gibadlo. He came here from Arlington Heights, Ill., in 1995.

He attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of PRIDE of Pine Ridge, drove for the SHARE program, a member of the Licensed Professional Engineers, was a Citrus County Master Gardener and loved gardening. He was a member of the Illinois Club of Citrus County.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marie (Flaherty) Gibadlo of Beverly Hills; three sons and their spouses, Tom and Mary Gibadlo of Kilder, Ill., James and Mary Gibadlo of Bartlett, Ill., and Kenny and Sisan Gibadlo of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters and their spouses, Lynn and John Delaney of Clarendon Hills, Ill., and Mary and Al Pinkus of Chicago, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren..

John Gibbons, 78 Citrus Hills

John F. Gibbons, 78, Citrus Hills, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital of Bethlehem, Pa.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., he was born Sept. 27, 1924, to Joseph and Mildred Gibbons. He came here in 1993 from Windsor, Conn.

He was a pilot in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Gibbons was employed in the nuclear power industry as a mechanical engineer.

He was a Christian and volunteered his services with the Make A Wish Foundation.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jean Baxter Gibbons of Hernando; a son, Jeff Gibbons and his wife Elizabeth of Stroudsburg, Pa.; three daughters, Judith Gibbons and her husband Raymond of St. Louis, Mo., Janet Moore and her husband David of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jill Gibbons of Cornwall, Conn.; two sisters, Helen Hillstrom of Rockville, Md., and Virginia Earnshaw of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.

Julian Hair, 79 Inverness

Julian Fred Hair, 79, Inverness, died Friday, July 18, 2003, in Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hair was born in Inverness on Feb. 14, 1924, to Fred G. and Frankie Davis Hair. He was a lifetime resident.

He owned and operated the Gulf Oil Distributorship in Inverness for many years and was an associate with Kiser Realty.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Active in the community for many years, he served as past president of the City Council of Inverness and as chairman for the County Planning and Zoning Board.

He was also a member and past master of the Citrus Masonic Lodge 118, and past commander of the American Legion.

He was active in the church and taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. He was a founding member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Inverness where he was named deacon emeritus and taught Sunday school.

He currently was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inverness where he taught the Fellowship Sunday school class.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin, in 1941.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Willie L. Hair; three daughters, Jennice Willson and husband Fred of Ocala, Martha Ann Hinkle and husband ken of Inverness, and Faye Hoff and husband David of Hernando; a brother, Rheuben Hair and wife Jonnie of Crystal River; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Carmela "Lena" Insolera, 86 Crystal River

Carmela "Lena" Insolera, 86, Crystal River, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital.

Mrs. Insolera was born in Sicily, Italy, and came here 23 years ago from Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was a retired tailor.

She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Filadelfo Insolera on Feb. 19, 1992.

Survivors include her son Alfred Insolera and wife Laura of Valley Stream, N.Y.; a daughter, Marie Renne and husband John of Crystal River; a brother, Louis Liberto of Sicily, Italy; sister Marianne Cicero of Sicily, Italy; and three grandchildren.

Alfred Kodis, 76 Citrus Hills

Alfred Kodis, 76, Citrus Hills, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

He was born in Lawrence, Mass., on Sept. 21, 1926, and was raised in Methuen, Mass. He came here in 1992 from North Reading, Mass.

Mr. Kodis retired from the Wakefield Junior High School in Wakefield, Mass., as a science teacher with 27 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Eva (Kvedar) Kodis; two sons, John Kodis of Framingham, Mass., and David (Carolyn) Kodis of North Reading, Mass.; two daughters, Martha (Iain) McClatchie of Redwood City, Calif., and Diane Kodis of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Janet (Edward) Hume of Woodside, Calif.; and three granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 2251, New Port Richey, FL 34656.

Mary Etta Woods, 91 Inverness

Mary Etta Woods, 91, Inverness, died Friday, July 18, 2003, in Inverness.

Born Dec. 31, 1911, in Dalton, Ga., to John and Rachel Vick, she came here from St. Petersburg.

She worked in clothing sales.

She was Protestant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Howard Woods, in 1971.

Survivors include two sons, Don Woods of St. Petersburg, and Jimmy Woods of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a daughter, Jerrie Lee Low of Inverness; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
