Anne Elizabeth Big, 93, Homosassa, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, in Crystal River.

She was born Dec. 8, 1909, in New York Mills, Minn., to Felix Nietula and Anna Paukoski. She came here from Waukesha, Wis., seven years ago.

She was a retired presser, silk finisher in the dry cleaning industry.

She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Big.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Carol Big of Homosassa; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Gertrude Courson, 89 Crystal River

Gertrude H. Courson, 89, Crystal River, died Friday, July 18, 2003, in Lecanto.

She was born March 25, 1914, in Mountain Lake Colony, S.C., to William and Jane Hardin. She came here from Valrico in 1995.

She was a homemaker and was Seventh-day Adventist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford M. Courson, and daughter, JoAnn Courson.

Survivors include one daughter, Sonna Keene of Crystal River; one sister, Jean Hardin of Inverness; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Franklin Irvin Sr., 78 Homosassa

Franklin Washington Irvin Sr., 78, Homosassa, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Veterans Hospital in Tampa.

He was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Pennsylvania to Bruce and Mary (Stake) Irvin. He came here in 1986 from Shirleys-burg, Pa.

Mr. Irvin was a retired ammunitions supervisor for Civil Service and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God of Homosassa.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Adelina (Saydoquen) Irvin of Homosassa; three sons, Franklin W. Irvin Jr. and wife, Betty, of Columbia County, Pa., Edward B. Irvin and wife, Sunida, of Shirleysburg, Pa., and Franklin W. Irvin III of Homosassa; two brothers, John Irvin of Emerson Valley, Pa., and Donald Irvin of Shippensburg, Pa.; two sisters, Mildred Ekstine of Jacksonville and Loretta Kubic of Avon Park; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

John Redding, 88 Dunnellon

John William Redding 88, Dunnellon, died Friday, July 18, 2003, in Crystal River.

Born in Chicago, Ill., he came here from River Grove, Ill., in 1978.

Mr. Redding was a retired inspection manager for Mars Candy Corporation.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

He is survived by two nieces, Ruth Spadotto of Ocala and Karen Gieser of The Villages, Lady Lake.

Noel Brunelle, 84 Floral City

Noel C. Brunelle, 84, Floral City, and formerly of Largo, died at his home Friday, July 25, 2003, under the care of Hospice.

Born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada, he retired as a machinist with Timex Corporation and moved to Florida from Waterbury, Conn., in 1980.

Surviving family includes a son, Rene Brunelle of Floral City; daughters, Denise Kirovac of Chocowinity, N.C., and Anne Marie Ariola of Waterbury, Conn.; brothers, Leo and Martin Brunelle, both of Canada; a sister, Laurette Saint-Pierre of Canada; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Helen Master-Walker, 86 Beverly Hills

Helen Master-Walker, 86, Beverly Hills, died Sunday, June 27, 2003, in Hernando.

She was born June 25, 1917, in Detroit, Mich., to Michael and Mary Civan. She came here from Southfield, Mich., in 1987.

Mrs. Master-Walker was a homemaker, loved sewing, and attended First Presbyterian Church of Inverness.

She was a volunteer with the Beverly Hills Fire Department and the Beverly Hills Surveillance Unit.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Frank J. Walker Jr. of Beverly Hills; three sons, James Master and wife, Katy, of Hudsonville, Mich., Frank J. Walker III and wife, Pamela, of Troy, Mich., and Thomas Walker of Warren, Mich.; four daughters, Jeri Doroshewitz and husband, John, of Rochester Hills, Mich., Susan Schairer of Michigan, Janice Trepanowski and husband, Stephen, of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Mary Jo Schmidt and husband, Clifford, of Waterford, Mich.; and 15 grandchildren.

William McMullin Jr., 77 Yankeetown

William John McMullin Jr., 77, died suddenly at home in Yankeetown on Friday, July 25, 2003.

He was born in Westfield, Mass., the son of William Sr. and Viola McMullin. He grew up in Southwick, Mass., and lived there most of his life.

Mr. McMullin was a self-employed farmer in Southwick for many years raising vegetables and tobacco and later worked for Roncari Construction of Windsor Locks, Conn. He owned his own cement business prior to moving to Florida.

Upon retirement, he was an avid fisherman and was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Frances (Tomassetti) McMullin; two brothers, Robert McMullin of Southwick, Mass., and Richard McMullin of Florida; and one sister, Elizabeth Bew of California.

Survivors include his son, Craig W. McMullin and his wife, Theresa, of Edgefield, S.C.; one stepson; one daughter, Diane C. Reid of Chatham, Mass.; sisters, Patricia Schmidt of Southwick, Mass., and Alice McMullin of Agawam, Mass.; close friend, Mary Kennedy of Florida; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ida V. Parker, 80, Crystal River, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Health Center at Brentwood in Lecanto.

She was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Woodboro Township, Wisconsin, to Walter and Ida (Mosser) Reader and came here 32 years ago from Chicago, Ill.

Mrs. Parker was Baptist. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Stewart Parker of Crystal River; two sons, Bill Parker of Crystal River and Gary Parker of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Sandy Parker of Orlando, Barbara Ortiz of Ledington, Mich., and Linda Parker of Colorado; one brother, Don Reader of Philander, Wis.; one sister, Violet Wimmer of New Paris, Ind.; and six grandchildren.

Herbert 'Hub' Pearson, 72 Floral City

Herbert A. "Hub" Pearson, 72, Floral City, died at home Sunday, July 27, 2003.

A native of Pikeville, Tenn., he was born Jan. 1, 1931, to Ellis and Velva Pearson. He came here in 1974 from Tampa.

Mr. Pearson was the owner and operator of Hub's Tree Service in both Tampa and Floral City.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Pearson, on Oct. 1, 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Pearson of Floral City; one son, Herbert "Yogi" Pearson of Lecanto; two daughters, Vickie (Jim) Ressler and Linda (Chuck) Ward, both of Floral City; one stepdaughter, Margaret Schultz of Geneva, Ala.; one brother, James; five sisters, Anna Ruth, Betty, Wilma, Bernice and Veronica; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Adeline Ulrich born May 6, 1918, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Orlando.

She was a former resident of Inverness and Niles, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Adele, and husband Alfred.

Survivors include four children, Valerie, Cheryl, David and Mary; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
