Henrietta 'Henny' Lister, 84 Inverness

Henrietta B. "Henny" Lister, 84, Inverness, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at Inverness Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Newark, N.J., she moved to Tampa eight years ago from Livingston, N.J., then moved to Inverness three years ago.

She was a manager for 15 years of Sugar Bowl sandwich shop in Livingston, N.J.; a past member of the VFW Auxiliary in Livingston, N.J.; and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tuckerton, N.J., where she was very involved in all aspects of her church.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail F. Sturtevant and husband, Richard, of Inverness; three sisters, Elizabeth Koenig of California, Dorothy McCormick of New Jersey and Muriel Birkland of California; two grandsons, Raymond Sturtevant of Inverness and Eric Sturtevant of Statesville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Heidi Sturtevant of Inverness; and two great-grandchildren.

John McGowan, 51 Crystal River

John D. McGowan, 51, Crystal River, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.

Born Aug. 12, 1952, in Jersey City, N.J., to Jack and Jean (Andrusyshen) McGowan, he came to this area 30 years ago.

Mr. McGowan was a Union Cameraman, a member of Local Union No. 600, Chicago, Ill. He worked on motion picture movie sets throughout the country. Among some of the movies he filmed are Smokey and the Bandit, Caddy Shack, Miami Vice, Speed II and others.

He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Crystal River.

Survivors include a brother, Michael McGowan of Miami; three aunts, Katherine Pompeo of Crystal River, Mary M. Peplowski of Homosassa and Carol Todisco of Jersey City, N.J.; and an uncle, Henry Andrusyshen of Jersey City, N.J.

Joseph Stapleton, 76 Homosassa

Joseph F. Stapleton, 76, Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at his home.

Born July 14, 1927, in Jersey City, N.J., to Catherine E. Behan and John M. Stapleton Sr., he moved here in 1989 from Berkeley Heights, N.J.

Mr. Stapleton was a retired CPA for Schering-Plough Corp., Madison, N.J. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was past commander of American Legion Post No. 166, and received a Certificate of Appreciation from Cypress Cove Care Center in 1999 for visiting the patients faithfully.

He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan M. Stapleton, March 11, 2001.

He is survived by his brother, John M. Stapleton of Brick, N.J.; and many cousins.

Joan VanDyke, 67 Inverness

Joan Starr VanDyke, 67, Inverness, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Inverness.

Born March 8, 1936, in Elizabeth, N.J., to Christion and Edna Kammerl, she moved here from High Bridge, N.J., 32 years ago.

She was a retired secretary.

She was well known for her homemade chocolates; fund-raising and devoted personal time to the residents of the Key Center, and was an avid writer.

She was a member of Parents Without Partners and Manatee Singles.

She was Methodist.

Survivors include two sons, Donald F. Smith of Pennsylvania and Duane VanDyke of Ocoee; and two daughters, Dawn Foster of Old Town and Tracey Romanillos of Windermere.

Jettie Fields Bouch, 66, of Oak Run

Jettie Fields Bouch, of Oak Run, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. A native of Columbus, Miss., she has resided in the Ocala area since 1996, formerly of Cleveland, Ga. She was 66.

Mrs. Bouch was a teacher with the Osceola School System of Kissimmee. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, James Gordon Bouch Sr., of Ocala; daughter, Tamara Gillmore of St. Cloud; three sons, James Bouch Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Terry Bouch of Manchester, N.H., Thomas Bouch of Dallas, Texas; sister, Gaye Woodstock of Huntsville, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Interfaith Emergency Services of Marion County, 435 N.W. 2nd Street, Ocala, Fla. 34475.

Raymond J. Chevarie, 80, of Ocala

Raymond J. Chevarie, of Ocala, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Regional Medical Center, Orlando. A native of Pawtucket, R.I., he has resided in the Ocala area since 1986, formerly of Pawtucket, R.I. He was 80.

Mr. Chevarie was a retired wire drawer with Tele- Communications. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Community.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephina Janet Chevarie, April 22, 1999.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Krzak of Rehoboth, Mass.; two granddaughters, Mackenzie O'Connor of Oxford, Mass., and Danielle Dagnese of Clermont.

Donald N. Hepburn, 89, of Dunnellon

Donald Nelson Hepburn, of Dunnellon, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, in Dunnellon. A native of Eauclaire, Wis., he came here in 1998 from New Port Richey. He was 89.

Mr. Hepburn was a supervisory budget analyst employed by the U.S. Navy Department - Civilian. He served with the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Carol Worsham of Dunnellon; brother, Doug Hepburn; two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Roy D. Howell, 54, of Ocala

Roy D. Howell, of Ocala, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at home.

A native of Gainesville, he moved here in 1983. He was 54.

Mr. Howell was a truck driver.

He was an active member of Emanuel Church of God and a graduate of Gainesville High School.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Willa M. Howell of Ocala; sons, Kevin Howell of Ocala and Scott Howell of Birmingham, Ala; and a sister, Maudine Barnhill of Chiefland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Phyllis E. Palmer, 85, of Ocala

Phyllis Eveline Palmer, of Ocala, formerly of Citrus Springs, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, in Ocala.

A native of Bristol, England, she came here in 1974 from Oxon Hill, Md. She was 85.

Mrs. Palmer was a homemaker. She was Episcopal and a member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Palmer and a sister, Ethel Kempin.

Survivors include three daughters, Lynn E. Jones of Winchester, Va., Gail A. Butterworth of Bermuda, Suzanne V. Brown of Ocala; sister, Myra Seston of New Market, Canada; nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Vivian M. Pardovich, 79, of Oak Run

Vivian M. Pardovich, of Oak Run, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at her residence.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., she resided in the Ocala area since 1997, formerly of Clearwater. She was 79.

Mrs. Pardovich was a retired medical social worker. She was Catholic.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph T. Pardovich of Ocala; daughter, Josette M. Millman of Falls Church, Va.; son, Thomas J. Pardovich of Guilford, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
