Carl Hanton, Jr., son of the founding editor of the Ft. Myers News-Press went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 11, 2004. He was born in Duluth, MN on May 18, 1930. He moved to Ft. Myers, FL as an infant where his family started the Ft. Myers News-Press. He was a lifelong professional newspaperman working as a bookbinder craftsman and foreman. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife Gloria of Naples, two sons, Carl Hanton, III of Ft. Myers, Daniel Hanton of Coleman, three daughters, Lynn V. Pearson of Bradenton, Sharon Ann Hanton, (deceased), Sandra Hanton Lovett of Bushnell, a granddaughter, Sherri Pearson Hibbitts of Bradenton, four step-daughters, Bonnie, Linda, Pamela and Lynn, a stepson, Richard and their spouses John, Jim, Andy, Danny and Misty, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren all of North Florida.
Culleys Meadowood Funeral Home of 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee is in charge of arrangements. A private family service will be held in Bradenton on Saturday, October 16th. Special thanks from the family to the Naples and Big Bend Hospice for all of their love, respect and care.

Dr. Nick A. Marino, 74, of Ft. Myers passed away at his Ft. Myers, FL home on October 12, 2004 in the embrace of his beloved family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret A. Marino (nee Julian); his children Deborah Marino of West Palm Beach, Anna Marie (Nick) Fileccia, Tina Marie Tufariello, and Nick A. Marino III all of Ft. Myers; his grandchildren, Anthony Scariati of Amarillo, TX, Vincent Scariati of Ft. Lauderdale, Nicholas and Sophia, Terese Fileccia, and Daniel Tufariello all of Ft. Myers; his brother, Thomas and his sister, Mary Grasso both of Cleveland, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaetano and Vincenza (Nee Maenza) Marino, his brothers, Sam, James, and John and his sister, Lena Lombardo all of Cleveland.
Dr. Marino was born in Cleveland in 1930. He graduated from Medical School in Philadelphia and then returned to Cleveland where he practiced family medicine until moving to Ft. Myers in 1975. His medical practice thrived in Ft. Myers, and he was a founder of Gulf Coast Hospital. Although Dr. Marino was a prominent member of the medical community Nick always felt his greatest legacy was his children and his grandchildren. His many friends became part of his extended family and will be forever grateful for the hospitality, fellowship and food shared at Nick and Margaret's table.
The family of Dr. Marino will receive friends for calling hours at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home, 12777 SR 82 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 15, 2004. All are invited to a memorial service and burial to be held at the same location on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Dr. Marino's memory to the Building Fund, Christ Community Ministries, 8681 County Road, Estero, FL 33928.

Pat Painter passed away October 10, 2004. She was born in Youngstown, OH, November 20, 1921 to the late Louis & Mary Kitchton. A graduate Of Ohio State University, Preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Frank M. Painter Jr.
She is survived by daughter Patti M. Hansen, Her granddaughters Lori L. Hansen & Jennifer B. Pomphrey, Her great grandchildren Bobby M. & Kayla M. Pomphrey, all of Ft. Myers, FL, also sisters Mary Moss of Greenville, PA, Eveyln Parent of Charleroi, PA & Ann Yurchak of Youngstown, OH. She was preceded by four brothers Dr. John Kitchton, Frank, George & Charles Kitchton, all of Columbus, OH.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers, FL., on Thursday Oct. 14, 2004 between 4:30 & 6:30 p.m. Where donations can be made to the Hospice in her name.

Cris A. Regas, 47, of Lehigh Acres, passed away suddenly on October 11, 2004. She was born April 7, 1957 in Canton, OH.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Regas on May 11, 1991. She is survived by mother Patricia of Lehigh Acres, her two children, Johnny (Stephanie) Blouir, and Patty (Bert) Eddy, her two brothers, both of Lehigh Acres, Jim (Valerie) Micki (Virgil), and sister Vicki Lu (Doug) also of Lehigh Acres. She also leaves three grandchildren, Cody, Brianna, and James, and 4 nieces and nephews, Sunshine, Jennifer, Amanda, and Doug. Cris also leaves may wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home, 12777 SR 82. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM.

Lee Nelson Stanley, 80, of St. James City, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Born on October 30, 1923 in St. Paul, MN to Edward and Svea Stanley. Mr. Stanley was a Veteran and Purple Heart recipient of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He retired from Lago Oil and Transport of Aruba after 36 years and moved to St. James City.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Forbes Stanley; sister, Linnea (Ron) Desirant, all of St. James City; and cousins in New England and California.
Private services with military Honors will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, Cape Coral.

F. Daniel Sullivan, 82, of Ft. Myers, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004. A resident here for the past 19 years formally from Wisconsin. Dan was a Veteran of World War II, enjoyed golfing at Myerlee Country Club and spending time in Wisconsin with his family.
Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Peg Sullivan of Ft. Myers, beloved children Penny (Keith) Whaples, Pat Degimann, Rick (Joanie) Sullivan and Nancy (Steve) Lamb; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in Phillips, WI, at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers any donations in his memory be made to Winkler Court Reflections Unit, 3250 Winkler Ave. extension, Ft. Myers, FL 33916.

Barbara Downing Uhlar, 73, formerly of Pine Island, FL passed away Sunday in a nursing home in Westfield, MA, where she had lived since her husband Mike passed away in 1996. She moved there to be near her daughter, Arden and her family. Barbara was born and raised in Hawaii., surviving Pearl Harbor. She moved to Ft. Myers at the age of 14, then to Pine Island, where she had lived most of her adult life. Barbara worked for the Lee County School District for many years, before being stricken with Alzheimer's in 1989.
Barbara leaves behind her five children; Tim, David, Gary, Jeff all who reside in Florida and her daughter, Arden who lives in Massachusetts. Barbara leaves 7 grandchildren, Eileen, John Michael, Christopher, Nichole, Bryant, Kristina and Brandon, and a brother, George in Hawaii.
She will be buried next to her husband, Michael Uhlar, Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 from 6-8 PM in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Ft. Myers on Friday at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family asks that instead of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Barbara.

Jacqueline L. DePaolo, 73, of Cape Coral, FL died unexpectedly Monday, December 6, 2004. Mrs. DePaolo was born March 4, 1931 in State College, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Beatrice Murphy Hower. She attended St. Andrew Catholic Church and had resided here since 1977 coming from Clarksville, Virginia.
She is survived by her husband, Alphonso F. DePaolo of Cape Coral; 2 sons, Alphonso (Deborah Groll) DePaolo Jr. and Frank (Susan) Depaolo both of Bokeelia, FL. Her grandchildren, Jackie, Nicole, Chris, Nicholas, Ashley and Anthony. Great grandchildren, Austin and Chandler.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2004 from 6-8PM in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Coral Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Otto C. Kaintz, 79, Ft. Myers, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2004. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of the Pacific Theater in WW II. Following his military service, he became a pilot with Capital Airlines in 1949, which later became United Airlines. He flew with United until his retirement in 1984. During his career, he was an active member in the Airline Pilots Assoc. He and his wife came to Ft. Myers from Ben Avon, PA, in 1999.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth, 2 daughters, Rebecca Jane (Gerald) Wolfe, Miami, FL, Caroline (Henry) Lee, Elko, NV; a son, Otto Kaintz, Irving, TX; a sister Edna Rippey, Butler, PA; 4 grandchildren, Bryce & Brett Wolfe and Tiffany & Whitney Lee.
Funeral services will be celebrated at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at 2:00 PM with visitation 2 hours prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Radford Jay Lampert, "R.J." "Rusty", age 58, a longtime resident of N. Ft. Myers, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral.
He was a graduate of N. Ft. Myers High School, former superintendent of Maintenance of Lee County, former President of FL CMA, former VP Board of Directors FCMA, Poet, Songwriter, entrepreneur.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse James "Red" and Ruth Ethel (Clark) Lampert. and infant sister Christina.
Mr. Lampert is survived by his wife of 38 years Donna Marie (Callow) Lampert, N. Ft. Myers, children; Donna & David Rutherford, John Lampert, Sr. & Tanya; 4 grandchildren; Mark Rutherford, Brian Rutherford & Faith, Haylie Lampert, John Lampert, Jr., He is also survived by 10 brothers & sisters; Shirley McIver, Stephen Lampert, Joyce Conkle, Tommy Lampert, Kenneth Lampert, Debbie & Raymond Tucker, Jeffrey & Nina Lampert, Sue & Tim Tucker, Jon & Doris Lampert, Becky Lampert and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at 2 PM at Hope Hospice Chapel, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy., Cape Coral, Chaplain Mark presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Hope Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
