Kristina Renee Hamm, 28, Anthony, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Anthony.

She was born in West Palm Beach. She came here from Port St. Lucie in 1991.

She was a customer service representative for Cingular Telecommunication.

She was Pentecostal.

Survivors include her husband, Gary L. Hamm II of Anthony; two sons, Gary L. Hamm III, and Stephen Michael Hamm, both of Anthony; mother, Sharon Cook of Port St. Lucie; step-father, Bob Cook of Port St. Lucie; father, Clay Wooten of West Palm Beach; and grandfather, James W. Huffman of Greensboro, N.C.

Bess Koines, 86 Inverness

Bess Mae Koines, 86, Inverness, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

Mrs. Koines was born in Fresno, Calif., June 10, 1917, to Fred and Nancy (Davis) Schulz. She came here in 1998 from Clearwater.

She was a retired property manager in the real estate industry.

She was Catholic.

Mrs. Koines is survived by her husband of 40 years, John C. Koines.

Alfred Lajoie, 73 Floral City

Alfred Francis Lajoie, 73, Floral City, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

Born in Peabody, Mass., on Jan. 17, 1930, he came here in 1988 from St. Petersburg.

Mr. Lajoie was a retired master cabinet builder.

He served in the United States Navy.

He was a member of

TOOFAR.

Survivors include his son, John Lajoie of St. Petersburg; daughter, Janice Hammers of Floral City; granddaughter, Maralyn Hammers; and great-granddaughter, Sierra Hammers.

A. Jack Martin, 74 Beverly Hills

A. Jack Martin, 74, Beverly Hills, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Inverness.

He was born March 17, 1929, in New Haven, Ind., to Arthur and Neola (Bermes) Martin.

He came here from Fort Wayne, Ind., in 1998.

He retired in 1986 with 40 years service as an assembly line manager with International Truck & Engine Corp., Springfield, Ohio, formerly Harvester Company, Fort Wayne, Ind.

He served as a military policeman for the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He was an avid fisherman. He was quiet and enjoyed being at home.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Jane Martin of Beverly Hills; and half-brother, Carl Gable of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made to a church of choice, or to the American Cancer Society, Citrus County Unity, P.O. Box 1902, Inverness FL 34451.

Opal Parr, 83 Mascotte

Opal Marie Parr, 83, Mascotte, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Arbor Village Nursing Home in Wildwood.

She was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Grantsburg, Ind., to Howard and Louells King.

She came to Florida in 1984 from Kentucky.

She was a former Inverness resident.

Mrs. Parr was preceded in death by her husband, Temple Parr, on Nov. 27, 1997; and son, Robert Parr on Sept. 22, 2001.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Faye Parr of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mary Stout Schuette, 86 Floral City

Mary Joy Stout Schuette, 86, Floral City, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Lawrence, Mass., to Frank and Alice Watson Joy. She came here from Miami in 1970.

She was retired from the horse racing industry. She traveled the country with her first husband as a jockey manager.

She served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

She was Catholic.

Mrs. Stout Schuette was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Forrest Stout on Oct. 12, 1976; second husband, Fred Schuette on Jan. 3, 1989; and two brothers, Franklin and Frederick Joy.

Survivors include two nieces, Pamela Joy (Edwin) Koscielniak of Haverhill, Mass., and Linda Joy of Lawrence, Mass.; step-son, Bob Schuette of Ohio; and companion Viviam Harter of Floral City.

Grace Cooke Sommerville Hernando

Grace Devine Cook Sommerville, Hernando, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Inverness.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., to William and Esther Wilson, she came here in 1978. She was a winter resident since 1964.

She was a manager of the heart station at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., from 1955 to 1964.

She was a member of TOPS and KOPS, both in Hernando.

She was a volunteer at area hospitals. She loved music, movies, reading, being with family, and traveling 48 states with her husband in their RV.

She was Presbyterian.

Mrs. Cooke Sommerville was preceded in death by her first husband, Jasper A. Cooke in 1950; second husband, James Luther Sommerville on April 6, 2001; and sister, Esther Devine Bowker.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace Susan Cooke Vadino of Pocono Lake, Pa., and Lesa Sommerville Ferguson of Inverness; brother, Leslie Devine of Hatboro, Pa.; sister-in-law, Ruth Lambert of Chapmanville, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Helene Wolf, 89 Inverness

Helene Bauer Wolf, 89, Inverness, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Avante of Inverness.

She was born March 27, 1914, in New York City, N.Y., to George and Emilie Bauer.

She came here from Woodland Hills, Calif.

She worked at Sak's Fifth Avenue as a manager in the wig department.

She was a member of O.E.S. Chapter 164 of Floral City.

Mrs. Wolf was preceded in death by her husband, William Wolf in 1983; and son, George Wolf on Sept. 16, 2000.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Wolf of Inverness; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to O.E.S. Chapter 164, P.O. Box 370, Floral City FL 34436.

Opal Parr. Graveside funeral services for Opal Marie Parr, 83, Mascotte, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at the Hills of Rest Cemetery of Floral City with the Rev. Leary Willis Jr., officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
