Stephan S. Robertson, 41

Stephan Shayne Robertson, 41, of Inglis, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003.

A native of Tampa, he moved here from Welaka a short time ago.

Mr. Robertson was an aquatic weed contractor. He was a member of Red Level Baptist Church of Inglis.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy; sons, David Robertson of Homosassa and Mack Robertson of Inglis; daughters, Amber Robertson of Roanoke, Va., Rebecca Robertson of North Carolina and Ida Robertson of Inglis; mother, Janette Rutland of Land O'Lakes; sister, Marci Fultz of Lutz; and grandmother, Mary K. Austin of Tampa.

Florida Cremation Society, Ocala, provided the information.

Mary S. Shoemaker, 78

Mary S. Shoemaker, 78, of Dunnellon, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Hospice Legacy House.

A native of Meadville, Pa., she moved here in 1999 from St. Petersburg.

Mrs. Shoemaker was a retired quality control inspector for Talon. She was Protestant.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia L. Sarachene of Dunnellon; and sister, Betty A. Clark of Meadville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Shoemaker.

National Cremation Society, Fruitland Park, provided the information.

Eugene J. Shultz, 89

Eugene J. Shultz, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Spring Hill.

During his career, Mr. Shultz was a salesman in the scrap industry and owner of Becker America.

He was also an avid fisherman and golfer, shooting his age at 82.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Adeline; daughters and sons-in-law, Cherryl and Robert Pritts, Judy and Whit Voiers, and Tica and Mike Hayes; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Salvation Army.

Martha O. Charest, 87, of Banyan Homes

Martha O. Charest, of Banyan Homes, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at TimberRidge Rehabilitation Center, Ocala. A native of Macon, Ga., she resided in the Ocala area since 2002, formerly of Pembroke Pines. She was 87.

Mrs. Charest was a retired cafeteria worker with the Broward County School System.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Lionel Charest of Ocala; daughter, Peggy Facente of Ocala; one grandchild, Gina Hopgood of Ocala; and one great-grandchild, Ashley Hopgood of Ocala.

Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge, handled the arrangements.

Florence Curtis, 81, of Ocala

Florence Curtis, of Ocala, formerly of Hernando, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Legacy House under the care of Hospice of Marion County. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., on April 27, 1922, she moved to Ocala in 1989 from Hernando.

Mrs. Curtis was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel Curtis; and daughter, Martha of New York.

Donald J. Davis, 45, of OTOW

Donald J. Davis, of OTOW, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Highland Park, Mich., he moved here 13 years ago from Rochester, Mich. He was 45.

Mr. Davis was disabled and was a member of College Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Jack and Gladys Davis of Ocala; brother, Jeffrey Davis of Michigan; and a sister, Susan Soloman of Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made to College Road Baptist Church Building Fund.

Christopher DePrima Jr., 75, of Dunnellon

Christopher DePrima Jr., of Dunnellon, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at his residence. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he came to Dunnellon nearly eight years ago from Seaford, L.I., N.Y. He was 75.

Mr. DePrima was a retired self-employed securities consultant. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran from 1946-1947 and was Roman Catholic.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Anna DePrima of Dunnellon; sons, Christopher DePrima III of Massapequa, N.Y., and Salvatore DePrima of Ocala; daughters, Antoinette Riebling of Lindenhurst, L.I., N.Y., and Annamaria DePrima of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren Bryan, Diana and Lisa Marie DePrima, all of Massapequa, N.Y.

Fero Funeral Home, Dunnellon, was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Long, 81, of Palm Cay

Thomas Long, of Palm Cay, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at West Marion Community Hospital, Ocala. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., he resided in the Ocala area since 1989, formerly of Collingdale, Pa. He was 81.

Mr. Long was a retired packer with Imperial Eastman Manufacturing Co. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps. veteran serving during World War II. He was of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Trinkle in 1980.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Catherine; two daughters, Catherine Hansken of Spring Hill and Irene Maffei of Norwood, Pa.; son, Stephen Long of Ocala; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.

Gerald M. MacKay, 75, of Ocala

Gerald Martin MacKay, of Ocala, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at home. A native of Worchester, Mass., he came here from Parrish in 1995. He was 75.

Mr. MacKay was a retired maintenance worker for Delta Airlines. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Lions Club and was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Mary T.; sons, William H. MacKay of Parish, Paul M. MacKay of Redding, Conn., and Brian MacKay of Deluca, Ga.; daughter, Sandra A. Maxwell of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Janet Cummings of Lake Villa, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Harry F. Menke, 84, of OTOW

Harry F. Menke, of OTOW, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at The Legacy House of Hospice. A native of Chicago, Ill., he resided in the Ocala area since 1986, formerly of Chicago, Ill. He was 84.

Mr. Menke was a retired claim agent with Illinois Central Railroad Industries. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of Neighbor Lodge 1169 F&AM;, Homewood, Ill.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elsie; two daughters, Teri Lou Nieft and Judith Ann Timcak, both of Kernersville, N.C.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Francis J. Raymond, 97, of Dunnellon

Francis John Raymond, of Dunnellon, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Milwaukee, Wis., he came here in 1974. He was 97.

Mr. Raymond was a retired accountant for a men's clothier. He was Lutheran and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Edna Helene Raymond, and a daughter, Donna Lorraine Nagle, both of Dunnellon.

Christopher P. Thompson, 40, of Ocala

Christopher Paul Thompson, of Ocala, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Fort Lauderdale, he came here in 1972 from there. He was 40.

Mr. Thompson was a self-employed draftsman. He was Protestant and a member of Ocala Word of Faith Church.

Survivors include his mother, Carol Davis Thompson of Inglis; father, Robert L. Thompson of Dunnellon; daughter, Amanda Ann Thompson of California; two brothers, Phillip A. Thompson and Robert L. Thompson Jr., both of Inglis; step-brother, William A. Thompson of Dunnellon; sister, Elizabeth Erma Cannon of Dunnellon.
