Walter L. Williams Jr., 80, of Sparr

Walter L. "Buddy" Williams Jr., of Sparr, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Estelle's House. A native of Minneapolis, Minn., he came here in 1977 from Miami Springs. He was 80.

Mr. Williams was an electrician employed by IBEW Electrical Workers' Union. He attended Unity Baptist Church and dearly loved his family. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty J. Williams of Sparr; two daughters, Cynthia Newbern of Salt Springs, Fla. and Deborah Huntington of Sparr; two sons, Walter L. Williams III of Miami Springs and Michael S. Williams of Sparr; five sisters, Audrey Kundrot of Hixon, Tenn., Beverly Hardy of Keystone Heights, Fla., Ruth Thompson of Eugene, Ore., Muriel Costa of Davie, Fla., and Carol Trent of Merritt Island, Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County or the American Cancer Society.

Tylenna Haischer, Infant

Tylenna Essence Haischer, infant, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, in Inverness. She was born Nov. 20, 2003, daughter of Jennifer Rose Haischer of Dunnellon.

Besides her mother she is survived by maternal grandmother, Elaine L. Haischer of Dunnellon; uncle, Jonah B. Hinz of Lexington Park, Md.; aunt, Evelyn W. Haischer of Dunnellon; and "adoptive grandparents, " Pastor Blaine and Mrs. Lois Holmes of Dunnellon.

Alice D. Higbie, 73

Alice Dean Higbie, 73, of Morriston, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. A native of Hollywood, she moved here in 1983 from Davie.

Mrs. Higbie was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pembroke Pines.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur G.; daughters, Donna Higbie Watson and Brenda Higbie Redd, both of Ocala; sons, Arthur D. Higbie, Brett A. Higbie and Robert M. "Sandy" Higbie, all of Ocala; sister, Yvonne Williams of Pembroke Pines; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Grace Lee, 90

Grace Lee, 90, of Dunnellon, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, in Summerfield. She was born Nov. 1, 1913 in Live Oak to Carl and Clara Hill. She moved to Citrus County in 1999 from West Palm Beach.

Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Bryant Lee of Texas; daughter, Barbara Stugis of Ocala; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Donald Peacock, 76

Donald W. Peacock, 76, of Dunnellon, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in St. Petersburg to Elias and Mary F. (Davis) Peacock. He came to the area 35 years ago from there.

Mr. Peacock was a retired union ironworker and a member of the IAOBSAOIW Local 397 in Tampa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Peacock.

Survivors include three sons, Lee Peacock of Tolono, Ill., Donald Peacock of Dunnellon and Robert Miner and his wife, Carol, of Homer, Ill; three daughters, Donna Bergeron of Newark, Del., Jettie Gilbart of Dunnellon and Zola Herb and her husband, Ken, of Homosassa; two brothers, Gene Peacock of Dunnellon and Horace Peacock of St. Petersburg; 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Stephan Robertson, 41

Stephan Shayne Robertson, 41, of Inglis, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003. Born in Tampa, he moved to Inglis from Welaka in 2003.

Mr. Robertson was an aquatic weed contractor. He was a member of Red Level Baptist Church of Inglis.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Robertson of Inglis; sons, David Robertson of Homosassa and Mack Robertson of Inglis; daughters, Amber Robertson of Roanoke, Va., Rebecca Robertson of Raleigh, N.C., and Ida Robertson of Inglis; his mother, Janette Rutland of Land O'Lakes; grandmother, Mary K. Austin of Tampa; and sister, Marci Fultz of Lutz.

Edward Sarro, 71

Lt. Col. Edward D. Sarro, Ret., 71, of Citrus Springs, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, in Orlando. Born in Somerville, Mass., he moved to Clermont in 1997 and later to Citrus Springs. He also lived in Tucson, Ariz.

Mr. Sarro served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Boston University. He retired after being a purchasing agent for Kino Community Hospital.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He was an avid horseman and golfer and was Catholic.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sally.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arizona Kidney Foundation, 4203 E. Indian School Road, #140, Phoenix, Ariz. 85018, in recognition of Karen Shields Jenness, a friend.

Samuel Strick, 75

Samuel Strick, 75, of Dunnellon, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River. A native of Williston, he was a member of Union Baptist Church of Dunnellon.

Mr. Strick was a retired machine operator.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta; sons, Samuel Strick Jr. of Gainesville, Axavier Strick of Orlando, Nathaniel McClendon of Dunnellon; daughters, Joann Strick of Dunnellon, Sara Brooks of Beverly Hills, Donia Colomen of Williston, and Rose Tyson of Dunnellon; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Rose Taylor, 85

Rose Mary Taylor, 85, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, in Ocala. She was born in Pillares, Mexico and moved here in 2001 from Douglasville, Ga.

Ms. Taylor was retired from the food service industry. She was a member of the Dunnellon Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Bates of Dunnellon, and a granddaughter, Tina Heinlein of Douglasville, Ga.

Mary L. Barrett, 80, of Palm Cay

Mary L. Barrett, of Palm Cay, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at her residence. A native of Towanda, Pa., she resided in the Ocala area since 1989, formerly of Towanda, Pa. She was 80.

Mrs. Barrett was a retired human resource assistant with G.T.E. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Palm Cay Tee's of Ocala.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John E.; and a daughter, Connie Rowe of Ocala.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Leonid C. Courcy, 82, of Oak Run

Leonid Charles Courcy, of Oak Run, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. A native of Lowell, Mass., he resided in the Ocala area since 1988, formerly of Auburn, Mass. He was 82.

Mr. Courcy was a retired machinist with Allied Metal Products. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church; Charter member of Auburn Elks 2118, Auburn, Mass.; member of Knights of Columbus, Auburn, Mass.; life member of VFW Worcester, Mass. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II and Panama Canal.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Hedy; son, Leonid Courcy Jr. of Auburn, Mass.; daughter, Patricia Coates of Fairfax, Va.; sister, Jane Cusson of Auburn, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Courcy in 1945; brother, Arthur Courcy in 2000; a sister, Leona Langiois in 1962 and a sister, Theresa Wilber in 2002.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital for Cancer Research.

Gladys Ann Gaudet, 74, of Ocala

Gladys Ann Gaudet, of Ocala, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at her residence. A native of Quincy, Mass., she resided in the Ocala area since 1991, formerly of Plymouth, Mass. She was 74.

Mrs. Gaudet was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Frederick; three sons, Stephen Gaudet and Richard Gaudet, both of Fort Myers, and James Thorley of Conway, N.H.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
