MARY METZ-HIGBY, 60, of Cantonment, formerly of Tampa died Friday. A native of Racine, Wis., she was an insurance underwriter and Catholic. She is survived by her husband, Peter of Cantonment; a son, Jerry Higby of Land O'Lakes; a daughter, Carrie Noland of Pensacola; her mother, Lola Metz of Peoria, Ariz; a brother, John Metz of San Diego; and two grandchildren. Faith Chapel, Pensacola.

THOMAS MORAN, 80, of Tampa died Saturday at Mariner Health Care. A native of Hartford, Conn., he moved to the area in 1948. He was a retired bookkeeper, Air Force veteran of World War II and Catholic. He is survived by a brother, John of Newington, Conn.; and a sister, Anna Shey of Hartford. MARY HELEN MANNING NEEL, 92, of Tampa died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Leesburg, Ga., she moved to the area 75 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of East Chelsea Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Mason of Inglis and Bobbie Thornton of Valrico; a brother, L.C. Manning of Moultrie, Ga.; two sisters, Bessie Ross of Ahoskie, N.C. and Tommie Davis of Tarboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
