ROLAND, Marguerite G., 79, of Winter Haven, Fla., died January 19, 2001. Survived by two daughters, Diana and Lin; one grandson, Scott; two sisters, Oleta and Mildred. Trinity Funeral Home

SIMMONS, Vernon Charles, 85, of Brandon. A loving husband, father, brother, granddaddy and friend, was reunited with his sweet Louise on January 18, 2001. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Verna Lou and David Worthington; daughter, Carol E. Adcock and her fiance Frank Hooker; sister and brother-in-law, Ewana and Joe Weaver; special brother-in-laws, Ronald I. and wife Ana Griffin an d Gerald W. and wife Delores Griffin all of Brandon. Adoring grandchildren, Katherine Nelsen and husband Keith, Kimberly J. Worthington, John A. Adcock and wife Allison, Robert `Chuck` Adcock; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Adcock and many nieces and nephews. He was a loyal employee of TECO for 45 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Hopewell Funeral Hom e with Rev. J. Boyce Sweat officiating. Interment will follow in Sringhead Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. He was a role model for all and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

SMITH, Wilton Eddie, 56, of Gibsonton died Friday, January 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, son and daughter- in-law; Matt and Wendy, daughter Melissa Pettys, sisters; Joyce and her husband Jim Riley of Balm and Wanda and her husband Pat Berry of Cross City, and his beloved grandchildren, Courtney and Michael Pettys and Shelby Smith and mother-in law Margaret Mudry. He was a retir ed Supervior from I M C, served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and a member of Alafia Baptist Church, he was active in the church serving as Sexton of the Cemetery and served on the Building Committee. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Alan. Baptist Church (222 Alafia Church Rd.,off Hwy 39, S, North of SR 674 and South SR 672, at the Fire Tower.) Funera l services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Don McLauglin officiating; assisted by Rev. Erle McMichen, Rev. Larry Westman ,Rev. D.S. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Born in Cuba City, Wisconsin she lived in this area for the past five years, coming from Ohio. Mrs. Splinter was an antique appraiser, founding president of W orthington Hills Country Club, and on the board of Worthington Historical Society. She was also a member of the Ohio Historical Antique Society and The Questers Investment Club and of the Episcopal Faith. Funeral services and interment will take place in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

A native of Santi Espiritus, Cuba and resident of Tampa for the past 33 years, Mrs. Vina is survived by her beloved husband, Mario M. Vina; son, Maria J. Vina and wife, Kerry; daughters, Luisa Alvarez and husband, Jorge, and Carmen Garces and husband, William Calderon; grandchildren, John, Mercedes, Jorge, Mario, Jr., Marcus , Robbie and Julian; brothers, Andres Brito and Francisco Lastallo; sisters, Armenia Diaz and Maria Brito. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends this afternoon, Sunday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with recitation of the catholic Wake Rite to begin at 7:45 p.m. at the chapel


HUMPHREYS, Betty, 71, of Zephyrhills, formerly of Thonotosassa, died Friday, January 19, 2001 at home. Survivors include a son, Don Hagerty of Tipton, IN; two sisters, Kathryn Anderson of Frankfurt, IN and Dorothy Burns of Kokomo; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

LAWRENCE, Lillian W., 95, of Zephyrhills, Fla. died Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at Hospice of Pasco, Dade City. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, she moved to the area 35 years ago from her native. She served many years on the Advisory Board of Zephyrhills Senior Center and on the Board of her Foxwood Condominium on Airport Rd. Survivors include a nephew, Mike French of Cantonment, Fla.; a niece, Joanne Adrianson of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; five nieces and nephews; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Memorial service is being planned for a future date. No calling hours are scheduled. LEWELLEN, Linda, 61, of Dade City, died January 19, 2001 at Tampa General Hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Day and Karen Roach, both of Dade City; two sons, John of Zephyrhills and Kent of Dade City; a brother, Reidus Johnson of Crookston, Minn; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2001 at the funeral home.



REESE, William D., 83, of Thonotosassa, passed away January 18, 2001. Survived by his wife Margaret; two sons, three daughters, a step daughter, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

ROSCOE, William J., 79, of Dade City, died Friday, January 19, 2001 at Hospice of Pasco in Dade City. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Annie; a son, Ralph Roscoe of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a daughter, Rita Frew of Tampa; three grandchildren, Joe Roscoe of Royal Oak, Mich., Billy Frew of Ferndale, Mich. and Rachel Westbrook of Redford, Mich.; and three great grandchildren. He was a native of Detroit and was a winter resident of Traveler's Rest since 1981 coming from Southfield, Mich. He was a retired Tool and Die Designer for Ford Motor Company and was President of the Zephyrhills Deaf Club. A Memorial Service will be held at the Traveler's Rest Citrus Center at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2001. ADAMS, Robert E. `Bob`, 79, born in Cleveland, Ohio, a life long resident of Tampa, passed away January 17, 2001. He is survived by June, his wife of 56 years; two sons, Robert and his wife, Jimmie, Tampa, Fla.; Walter and his wife Tami, Knoxville, Tenn., their two children Daniel and Katie; sister-in-law, Claire Adams; a nephew, Jim Adams; a niece, Tracy Moore; and a cousin David Derhammer. M r. Adams was a retired Manager of the U.S. Postal Service, an original `River Rat`, Captain and World War II Pilot, Past Master Northside Masonic Lodge, West Coast Umpires Assoc., and a long time member of Seminole Heights United Methodist Church. A memorial service in celebration of Bob's life will be held at Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, Saturday, January 20, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ron D eGenaro, Jr. will be officiating with long time friend Rev. James Harvester assisting and life long friend Jack Griffin will speak. The Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. til service time. A private burial will be held in Florida National Cemetery. AGUINAGA, Rosita, age 72 of Tampa, passed away January 18, 2001. Survivors include her husband, Urbicio Aguinaga; son, Robert Aguinaga; daughter, Rosa Amelia Aguinaga and grandson, Robert Michael Aguinaga. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. o'clock at Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Everyone is to meet at the Mausoleum for the graveside services.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Bargeron; four sons, Ronald Bargeron, Plant City, Donald Bargeron, Lakeland; James Bargeron, San Diego, Calif.; David Bargeron, Haines City: two daughters, Cynthia Gaughf, Ocala; Debra Hicks, Plant City; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. CHATHAM, Irene, age 55, of Vine Grove, Ky. died Sunday, January 14, 2001 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, Ky. She was born May 9, 1945 the daughter of Arthur Eugene and Juanita Stone Chatham. There are no immediate survivors. Miss Chatham was a music Teacher at Walker Middle School, Ft. Knox, Ky. The body was cremated. There will be a memorial service Friday at Walker Middle School. Arrangements by Adams-Stovall Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Vine Grove, Ky.

CISMOWSKI, M. LaFern 77, of Seminole, died January 14, 2001. She is survived by her son, Kevin L. Cismowski of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Born in Chattanooga, Ohio and moved to Seminole from Ft. Wayne, Ind. Holloway Funeral Home

COLEMAN, Thomas L., age 51 of Tampa, passed away January 17, 2001. Mr. Coleman was born in Ypsilanti, Mich., and moved to Tampa in 1986. Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathleen; three sons, Gerald James Coleman and wife Erin of Annapolis, Md., William Thomas Coleman and wife Shannon of Seaburg, Texas, and Jason Edward Coleman of Tampa; his father, Laverne Coleman of Detroit, Mich.; two bro thers, William Coleman and Michael Coleman of Roseville, Mich.; and two sisters, Sylvia Lefkowitz and Mary Baird of Utica, Mich. Mr. Coleman was also loved very much by Brendan Malone. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Purple Heart. He was retired from Cadillac Motor Car, Detroit, where he worked as a design analyst in the engineering depa rtment. He most recently spent his time volunteering at the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital where he accrued over 2,710 hours of service. He was a member of the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans). The family will receive friends Friday, January 19, 2001 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Wake Rite Service at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.

GRIFFITH, Graciene A., died January 17, 2001. She was born February 3, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pa. and came to Florida in 1934. She was the widow of William E. Griffith and was married for 54 years. She leaves four children, Victoria Benchimol, of St. Petersburg, Dianne Hofmann, of Gulfport, Barbara Jean Gerald, of Ft. Meyers, and William E. Griffith, Jr., of Solon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Dawn Hofmann, of Tampa, Kaitlin Benchimol, of St. Petersburg, William E. Griffith, III and Robert Griffith, of Solon, Ohio; and four nieces and nephews. She was a registered nurse and graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She retired from nursing in 1986, then worked part time and was a volunteer for the last 12 years at St. Joseph's Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations m ay be made to Hospice of The Florida Suncoast or the American Cancer Society. Receiving friends and family Friday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 4311 San Miguel St.

GUZMAN, Julio Sr. age 67 of Tampa passed away January 16, 2001. Survivors include his beloved wife, Antonia Guzman; two sons, Julio Guzman Jr., and Emilio Guzman; three daughters, Elizabeth Messineo, Luisa Mayer, and Raquel Eliott; and seven grandchildren, all of Tampa, Florida. Mr. Guzman Was retired from the U.S. Air Force, serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. He was also a member of `Club Iberico Espanol`.
