DuBOIS, Herman B., age 86, of Tampa, passed on January 1, 2001. He is survived by son, Joel; daughter-in-law, Gloria; grandson, Heywood. Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

EARNEST, Arman Starr Sr., 78, formerly of Boissevain, Va., passed away Monday, January 1, 2001 at his home in Land O'Lakes, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Boyd Earnest, of Land O'Lakes, Fla.; three children, Gerald Wayne `Jerry` Earnest, of Land O'Lakes, Fla.; Arman Starr Earnest Jr., of Princeton, W.Va. and James Emory Robertson a/k/a Jimmy Earnest, of Curitiba, Brazil. He is als o survived by three sisters and six brothers, Wenona Earnest Sauerzoff, of Eaton Town, N.J.; Joleen Earnest Weigand, of Independance, Va.; Judith `Judy` Earnest Smith, of Lutz, Fla.; Sanford B. Earnest, of Donalsonville, Ga.; Bobby J. Earnest, of Donalsonville, Ga.; John Delano Earnest, of Bluff City, Tenn.; Charles E. Earnest, of N. Tazewell, Va.; Arlie Ray Earnest, of Reidsville, N.C. and Dwi ght D. Earnest, of Pottsville, Ark. There are 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren also surviving. He was preceded in death by mother, Bannie Wolfe Earnest and father, Daniel P. Earnest Sr., both of Tazewell, Va.; one son, Harold Eugene Earnest, of Boissevain, Va.; one sister, Mary Kathleen Earnest Meade, of Reidsville, N.C. and two brothers, Daniel P. Earnest Jr. of Bastian, Va. and Carr oll G. Earnest, of Lutz, Fla. He was a World War II veteran and served in the South Pacific area during World War II. A member of Lutz/Land O'Lakes VFW, The American Legion and a member of the Boissevain Baptist Church in Boissevain, Va. Viewing will take place at the Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Home in Lutz, Fla. at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 with funeral to be held at the funeral home chapel Thursday, January 4, 2001 at noon. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, FL. Rev. A.J. Smith will be officiating. Friends who prefer an alternative to flowers are asked to make a donation to the Pasco/Hernando Hospice who were so wonderful during his long illness.

EGAN, Martin Stephen, 71, of Tampa, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away December 31, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary of 46 years; four sons, Richard (Sharon), Martin ( Arlene), James (Heather), Michael; two daughter: Mary (Quinn), Patricia (Tim); twelve grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. A native of New York, he resided in Tampa since 1974. He serv ed in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and was a graduate of Hofstra University. He worked in numerous cities throughout the U.S. as a special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his retirement from the F.B.I., he worked as a Staff Investigator for The Florida Bar for almost 19 years. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 4, fro m 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a wake service at 7:00 p.m. at Blount, Curry and Roel Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5521 N. Himes Ave., with Monsignor Higgins celebrant, followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in his memory. He will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; stepfather, Edward Cadieux of Tampa; sisters, Rose Mayo of New Hampshire, Wendy Daniels of Tampa, Penny Adamo of California; five nieces and one nephew. She was a secretary for Copart, Inc. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. GODEJOHN, Katherine Frances, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at Integrated Health Services Nursing Home, where she resided in Brandon, Florida. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kay Murray of Brandon, Linda Ashley of Raleigh, North Carolina; sons-in-law, Robert Murray and Bob Ashley; grandchildren, Scott Murray of Birmingham, Alabama, Matthew Murray of Tallahassee, Kim Ashley-C armody of Broomfield, Colorado, Stacy Ashley of Omaha, Nebraska and nephew Robert Deubel of O'Fallon, Missouri. Katherine joins her husband of 56 years, Charles, who passed away November 27, 2000. She will be forever missed by her family and friends for her loving, caring, and giving ways. The family will be in prayer following her cremation. In her memory, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity.

HURLEY, Marvin (Pete) ended his earthly assignment after 85 years and entered into rest on January 3, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sylvia Maxine on December 22, 2000. He is survived by his sister, Betty Hodson of Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, David and Beverley Hurley of Tampa; granddaughter, Lezlee Pardo and great-grandson, Elijah of Riverview; grandson, Aaron Hurley and great-grandson, Zachary of Altamonte Springs; and granddaughter, Julie Hurley of Tampa. He was born in Muncie, Indiana. He was an auto worker and retired from Guide Division of General Motors in Anderson, Indiana. He was a UAW committeeman and served on the board of directors on the Lampco Federal Credit Union. He moved to Hillsborough County in 1979. He has been an active member of Pro vidence Baptist Church in Riverview. The family will receive friends January 5, 2000 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, (SR 60) in Brandon. The funeral will be January 6, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Providence Baptist Church, 5416 Providence Road in Riverview withthe interment at the church cemetery.

Velie McFarland; three daughters, Latrelle Arias of Tampa, Lavon Heun of Tulsa, Okla., and Lavinna Tompkins of Tallahassee; two sisters, Almeda Bowman of Schoharie, N.Y. and Lena Ann Watton of Tampa; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A native of Waycross, Ga., she lived mo st of her life in Tampa where she was a member of the Lowry Park Advent Christian Church, a Girl Scout leader, and retired after being an Avon Rep. for 33 years in the Tampa area. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Lowry Park Advent Christian Church in Tampa, with burial at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Glenn E. Musser, of Raleigh, North Carolina; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She is survived by one brother, Herbert Brown and his wife, Marie, of Dover; and two sisters, Vera Weeks, of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Mary `Betty` Barnes, of Sydney. She was a lifelong resident of Sydney and retired from Hav-A-Tampa Cigar Company. Funeral services will be Friday, January 5, at 2.00 p.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, with Brother Irvin June officiating. Friends will be received Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Dover Cemetery.
