WILSON, Anne Rose, 94, of Brandon passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2001. Preceded in death by her husband, Dewey and two sons, Edward and Ralph Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Sturgeon of Brandon, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A native of East Stone Gap, Va., Mrs. Wilson had resided here for 25 years, coming from Ocala and was a member of the 1st Baptist Churc h of Riverview. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation. Those who wish, may make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Bill Graham Evangelical Assoc.

BLACK, Eleanor M., 96, of Tampa, passed away on October 2, 2001. She is survived by her son James M. Black and his wife Nancy of Tampa, Fla. and grandson, Ian Black. Mrs. Black moved to the area from Pennsylvania in 1942 and retired from the Hillsborough County Health Department after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church.

BURGER, John, Sr., 81, of Tampa, passed away October 3, 2001 in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Burger; daughter, JoRene Schretzmeijer and husband, Kees; son, John Burger, Jr. and wife, Julie; four grandchildren, Lewis Lackos and wife, Karen, Sheri Spencer and husband, Sam, Leah Burger and John L. Burger; great-grandson, Cassidy Lackos; brother, Milton Burger and wife, Nancy. Mr. Burger was a tail gunner in the 306th Bomb Squadron in World War II and also served in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as an Air Force Major. Mr. Burger was also a retired Hillsborough County Sheriffs Deputy and a member of the A.W. Windhorst Lodge #185 F.& A.M. Graveside services will be held Monday 1:00 p.m. at Lake Carroll Cemetery with military honors afforded by MacDill Air Force Base Honor Guard. COOKE, John P., 67, born in Charleston, W. Virginia, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at his home in Tampa after battling cancer for seven years. He is survived by his wife, Angela Molina; his daughter, Kathy Castillo; granddaughters, Sydney and Shelbie; his sisters, Jo Zonders and Betty Raines; and his nieces and nephew Paula, Kathy and Susan Raines, Sharon Sebert, and Lee Piper. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son and brother, `Dr. Cooke`, as he was known by his students, was an economics professor at the University of South Florida for 30 years. He was a strong advocate for peace and justice, and a protector of the environment and all of our fellow creatures who share this earth. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 7 at 6:00 p.m. at the First United Church of Tampa (Congregational) at 7308 E, Fowler Ave., 1/2 mile west of 1-75, behind the Amoco station at the stoplight at Fowler and Riverhills. DEL RE, Joyce, died at her residence Thursday morning, October 4, 2001. She is survived by husband of thirty years, Robert Del Re; her sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Dan Smith of California; her niece, Laura Dougall and husband John; her nephews, Bryan Smith and wife, Tammy, and Bruce Smith and his wife, Yen Vy; and eight great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Del RE was born in Los Angeles Count y, California, and had been a resident of Tampa, Florida for the past thirty years. She was a nurse by training and a Realtor here in Tampa. She was a partner in an antiques business, and actively involved in numerous charitable organizations. In her professional capacity as a Realtor, Mrs. Del Re obtained her CCIM designation and was former head of the Commercial Group of Smith & Associates Realt ors, Inc. Subsequently her Realtor's license was with Mike Preston of Preston & Farley, Inc. Mrs. Del Re was the 1988 Realtor of the year of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtor's; Director (1988-1993) and Secretary (1993-1994) of the Tampa Bay Commercial Brokers Association. She was a Charter Member of the Florida Gulf Coast Commercial Association of Realtors and served as Secretary - Treasur er 1994-1995, Chairman of the Grievance Committee 1994, and Director 1995-1996. She was also Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee and served on numerous other board committees including those for MLS, Professional Development, and Orientation. Among the many organizations in which Mrs. Del Re took an active role were the Tampa Symphony Guild, The Tampa Bay Art Center, Tampa Museum of A rt, Friends of the Arts, Guilders, Las Damas de Arte, Gasparilla Sidewalk Art Festival, Easter Seal Guild, Museum of Science and Industry, and the Morning Star School. WHITNEY, James Robert, 53, Ruskin, formerly of Ridge Manor, St. Petersburg and Tampa, died of pancreatic cancer Wednesday at Tampa General Hospital. Survivors include his wife Mary; his mother, Elizabeth Whitney, St. Petersburg; a nephew, Kenneth Scott Whitney Jr., Gainesville. Born in Geneva, Ohio. In 1954 moved to Ridge Manor in East Hernando County where he attended Brooksville Schools. In 1 962 the family moved to St. Petersburg and he was a 1966 graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy. Associate in Arts degree, St. Petersburg Junior College. At University of Florida, a member Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. After college he was a general contractor and built several hundred homes in Gainesville and Palatka. Since 1987 he operated Ridge Manor Properties Inc., a family-owned commercial real estate investment and management firm. Memorial service today 3:00 p.m., Lewers Funeral Home, 308 E. WILSON, Roland Austin, III, 72, of Tampa, passed away Friday, October 5, 2001, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia Sale Wilson; two daughters, Virginia Wilson Smith, of Tallahassee, and Mary Winifred Wilson Proudfoot and her husband, Robert Lee Proudfoot, of Tampa; four grandchildren, Virginia Austin Smith and Warren Hamilton Smith, of Tallahassee, Robert Lee Proudfoot, Jr., and Margaret Elizabeth Proudfoot of Tampa, Fla. Mr Wilson was a member of a long-time Tampa family identified with the Tampa Box Company. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland A. and Winifred `Peggy` Wilson, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Margaret Leiman, and paternal grandparents, Roland and Martha Wilson. Active in Tampa business circles, Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Florida Milit ary Academy and the University of Florida, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. After several years in cattle ranching in Marion and Sumter Counties, he returned to Tampa as a stock broker for Shearson, Hamill and Co. He then joined First National Bank of Tampa as an assistant vice president and eventually became senior vice president and manager of First Florida Bank's investment couns eling group. He was a founder and member of the Financial Analysts Society of Central Florida. In later years, he worked as an independent investment adviser. Mr Wilson had been a Sunday school teacher, a senior warden and vestryman at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and was a member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, the Tampa Yacht and Country Club, the Merrymakers Club and the University Club. He was also a member of Holyrood Masonic Lodge and Egypt Temple Shrine. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Very Rev. Stephen Ankudowich, D. Rector officiating. Private burial will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Andrew's Foundation or LifePath Hospice.
