PEREZ, Verna, 91, of Lakeland, died March 25, 2002. She is survived by three sisters; one brother; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

PLOWDEN, Pete Vincent, 88, of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Ellen Plowden; grandchildren, Jennifer Bartlett, Michael and Jessica Plowden; great-grandson, Henson Bartlett. He was born in Manning, South Carolina and was a Tampa resident for over seventy years. He was an active member of AA with over forty nine years of sobriety. He was a Florida State Fair Volunteer. He was in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II aboard the USS Rhodes. He was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 29, at 6:30 p.m. at Blount Curry & Roel, Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 East Lake Avenue.

POLLOCK, Ary Lee, 88, of Plant City passed away March 26, 2002. Mrs. Pollock was predeceased by her husband, Jewett Pollock. She is survived by two sons, Benny Lamar Pollock of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Douglas Pollock of Plant City; one daughter, Betty Jo DeLong and her husband John of Plant City; one sister, Eloise Loyd of Plant City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Waylon Carlisle, Rev. Tim Brown, and Father Mark Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele Street, Tampa, FL 33609.

RAYSIDE, David, 51, of Ruskin passed away March 22, 2002. David was born in Tampa and served 14 years in the Army along with four tours in Vietnam. He is survived by his son, Michael David; step-father, Al Marino; step-mother, Margaret; four brothers, Nelson Rayside, Joseph, James and Guilford; four sisters, Patricia, Helene, Mary and Alice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, 2 p.m. at Zipperer's Chapel.

SHRIDER, Louis Alva, 86, of Seffner passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Louis moved to the area in 1978 from Ohio and attended Faith Baptist. He was a member of the American Legion. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33569. The family will be receiving friends from 7 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home prior to the service. SPRAGGINS, Charles `Charlie` L., Sr., 56, of Tampa passed away Monday, March 25, 2002. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Dickerson. Survivors include, his wife, Audrey of Riverview; four sons, Terry Smith of Gibsonton, Charles, Jr., Calvin and William Spraggins, all of Riverview; one daughter, Charlene Pauley of Tampa; his mother, Venice Spraggins of Tampa; two brothers, Calvin and Jackie W. of Tampa; and two grandchildren, Angela and Anthony Pauley. He will always be loved and missed, and he will always be with us. Funeral services will held 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday (today) March 28, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

STATON, Glynda F., 56, passed away March 25, 2002 in Tampa. Born in in Wauchula, Fla., she was a Baptist and a Quality Control Inspector. She is survived by her partner of 21 years, Cindy Royal; father, Kenneth Peterson; brother, William Smith; and sister, Melody Keely. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She loved her family, friends and especially her `babies`. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Santa Cruz Animal Clinic, 431 W. Robertson St., Brandon, FL 33511. A Memorial Service will be held March 28, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.

WATSON, Lorraine H., 78, of Plant City, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Mrs. Watson was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her only son, Timothy Paul Rimes. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Watson of Plant City; one brother, Richard Luebke, and one sister, Sylvia Peterson both of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be on Friday, March 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Wells Chapel with Rev. Hugh Long officiating. Interment will be at Springhead Cemetery.

WINGATE, Jeramie R., 22, passed away March 25, 2002. Survivors include his loving parents, Larry and Deborah Wingate; sister, Fallon Wingate; maternal grandmother, Mary L. Holden; paternal grandmother, Ruth M. Wingate and his Fiancee, Sara Amato. Jeramie was Catholic by faith and an avid Scuba Diver, Swimmer, Fisherman and Surfer, he loved the outdoors and water. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Town & Country Chapel of Mark III Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2002 at the funeral home. Jeramie was dearly loved by all those who knew him. We love you Jeramie, you will always be in our hearts.

FICK, Marjorie M., loving mother of son, Richard Fick, and daughter, Ruth M. Schultz of Zephyrhills, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2002. `Margie` was born on November 10, 1921 in Dunkirk, New York. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Michalski of Dunkirk and Louise Switalski of Warsaw, Poland. She and her family moved to Zephyrhills in 1967. For two years, she worked as a nursing assistant at Lakeland General Hospital. She will be best remembered by many as a retail clerk at McCrory's in Zephyrhills until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd L. Fick in 1986 and one sister, Beatrice England. Marjorie is survived by one brother, Donald Michalski; two sisters, Dolores Lentz and Jeanie Fijal, all of Dunkirk, New York, and several nephews and nieces. A ce lebration memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Zephyrhills with the Reverand Nancy Stone Farley officiating.

LOUND, Fredrick Canton age 84, of Holland Mich., and Zephyrhills, Fla., died Thursday, March 28, 2002 in Zephyrhills, Fla. Fredrick was born on March 27, 1918 to Fred and Nettie Lound of Shelby Mich. In 1943 he married Luetta Mae Georges, daughter of Carl and Opal Georges of Shubert, Nebraska. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater with the Army Signal Corps as a technical sergeant, and was a member of the DAV. He was employed as a switchman for Michigan Bell Telephone for 39 years and retired in 1980 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holland. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Lound and sisters, Hazel Peters and Ruth Hogan. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Luetta Lound of Holland; children, Carol and Ronald Maat of Holland, Mich., Linda and Nathaniel Weekes of Louisville, Colo., Gary and Barbara Lound of Holland, Mich., Diane and Stephen Cutsforth of Weymouth, England, Janet and John Ten Elshof of Caledonia, Mich.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Katherine Lound of Shelby, Mich., Margaret and Wayne Rowell of Omaha, Neb., Lyman and Debris Georges of York, Neb., Ruth and Ken Dietrich of Kearney, Mo.; several nephews, nieces and cousins Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church 57 West 10th Street in Holland, Mich., Rev. William Dobbs will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the ceremony. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice 12107 Majestic Blvd, Hudson, FL 34667 or the First United Methodist Church.

BABINETZ, Wash, 75, of Tampa passed away March 29, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Irene Babinetz; sons, Michael, Nicholas and John; daughters, Mary Babinetz and Irene Goff; sister, Mary Meeko; and seven grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be said 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 7120 Massachusetts Ave, New Port Richey, Fla. Private interment will follow. The family will receive friends, Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

BLENCE, Charles Andrew `Andy`, 20, of Tampa, died March 21, 2002. A Tampa native, he was a student and employed as a Sky Cap, a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, and enjoyed boating and travel. He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Cindi Blence; brother, Greg Blence; grandmother, Becky Blence; aunt, Beverly Perreault; and girlfriend, Chris Gonzalez. A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. April 2, at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, 6100 Memorial Hwy., Tampa, FL 33615. In lieu of flowers contributions to Wesley Memorial Building Fund would be appreciated in Andy's honor.

CANNINGTON, Gene, of Dover passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2002. Gene was a life long resident of the Tampa area and a member of North West Baptist Church. He is survived by sons, Donald Cannington of Tampa and Derrell Cannington of Plant City; daughter, Susan Cannington of Plant City; brother, Leon Cannington of Temple Terrace. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview. CASANUEVA, Richard ,age 93 of Tampa, passed away March 28, 2002. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mr. Casanueva was preceded in death by his loving wife, America Yanez Casanueva and granddaughter, Patty Relue and is survived by his stepdaughter, Maria `Jo` Relue; grandson, Richard Wayne Relue and wife, Wendy; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Casanueva was retired from the United States Post Office, was active at St. John Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Judeo Christian Clinic and the McClain Group Home for many years. He was a member of Fellowship Lodge No. 265; F & AM; Tampa Consistory/Scottish Rite; Egypt Temple Shrine; Masonic Low Twelve Club; and the National Association/Retired Federal Employees. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Smith, Pastor, St. John Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Don Hahn, Rich ard A. Relue, Richard W. Relue, Max Yanez, Calixto Casanueva and Fred Tomasello.
