BRYANT, Ruth Lane, 77, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at her home. A native of St. Petersburg, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Bryant, former Pasco County Property Appraiser. She was a homemaker, and had lived in Tampa for 37 years. She was a former model for Webb City, St. Petersburg and a Christian. She is survived by her children, son Robert E. Bryant and his wife Aline, and a daughter Linda Bryant Lee; five grandchildren, William Joseph Yardley, Brandi Lynn Yardley, Robert Scott Lee, Aline Lane Bryant, and Robert E. Bryant, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Kiera Lynn Yardley. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, at the Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.

BUTTON, Howard F., 72, died Sept. 22, 2002. He is survived by one daughter; one son; one brother; devoted friends, Georgia Davis, Virginia and Jim Liles. He was an Army veteran.

DEUTSCH, Gladys, 80, of Tampa passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2002. Mrs. Deutsch retired as a school teacher and accountant after many years. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Daniel; her daughter, Pamela Blustein and her husband, Dr. Steven; two sons, Marc Deutsch, and Ken Deustch and his wife Wendy; four grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary, Alexis and Samantha. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Congregation Rodeph Sholom with Rabbi Marc Sack officiating.

FLACK, Celia Galey, 41, passed away at home in Mulberry, Fla. Sept. 26, 2002. Born in Tampa, Fla., she was a Protestant and worked at WalMart. She is survived by her husband, Robert; mother, Nancy Galey Hughes; son, Jimmy Hinton; brother, John Galey; sisters, Tammy Moran, Rosa Robbins; aunt and uncle, Eugene and Pat Powell; and grandmother, Clara Guy. Visitation will be Oct. 1, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. with services on Oct. 2, 2002 at 2 p.m., at Hillsboro Memorial F.H.

GEARY, James Thomas, 74, of Largo, died Sept. 29, 2002. He is survived by his wife; two sons; six daughters; a brother; 10 grandchildren; andthree great-grandchildren.

HARRIS, Robert L., Jr., 51, of Plant City, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2002. He is survived by his father, Robert L. Harris, Sr. of Nichols, Fla.; his mother, Merida Johnson of Lake Wales, Fla.; one son, Christopher W. Harris of Plant City; two daughters, Aeresa Harris of Valrico, Fla., and Theresa Harris of Thonotosassa, Fla.; three sisters, Becky Howell and Brenda Gavin, both of Lakeland, Fla., and Barbara Waring of Lake Wales, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Harris was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Pinegrove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 2 p.m. in Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel. KAUFMAN, Katherine, 54, of Tampa passed away Sept. 27, 2002. She was born in Hartford, Conn., and moved to Tampa from Las Vegas, Nev., a year ago. Surviving is her son, Robert John Gurka Jr.

KLEINHAMPLE, Edward Joshua, 76, of Valrico passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2002. Born in Pittsburgh, he has resided in Valrico for 26 years. HE is survived by his wife, Cornelia; his brother, Donald Kleinhample; his children, Donna Weaver, Deborah Adams and Edward A. Kleinhample; his grandsons, Ronald Weaver and Jason Adams; his great-grandchildren, Christian and Catelynn Adams. A gathering celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 26, at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.

PONTIUS, Esther H., 89, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Dunedin, died Sept. 27, 2002. She is survived by two sons; one daughter; one brother; three sisters; and five grandchildren.

RIGGIO, Lily Valenti, age 91, passed away September 27, 2002 at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Tampa. She was a native of Tampa and was predeceased by her husband, Vincenzo `Jimmy` Riggio. Survivors include her son, Frank J. Riggio and wife, Dale; daughters, Yvonne Rodriguez and husband, Gilbert and Patricia Garcia and husband, Emilio; sister, Evelyn Slater; brother, Sexton Valenti; grandsons, Frank `Rocky`, Rodney and Jimmy Riggio and Anthony Garcia; granddaughters, Rosalie Rodriguez Kadelak, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephanie Riggio Romano and Nicole Garcia; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Lily and Reece Dale Riggio, Isabella Lourdes Garcia and Kendall Marie Romano. Funeral Services will be held today, Monday, September 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave. Interment to follow at L' Unione Italiana Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Les; a daughter, Mary Winze; two grandchildren, John and Ann Winze. TAYLOR, Evelyn P. `Lady Cherokee`, `Tommy`, 80, passed away September 27, 2002. She is survived by two sons; two daughters; one step-daughter; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

ASH, Charles G., Jr., 79, of Lakeland, died Sept. 27, 2002 at Wedgewood Health Care in Lakeland. Born in Sydney, Fla., he is survived by his wife, Betty of Lakeland; son, Charles G. `Chuck` Ash, III of Troy, Ala.; sister, Florence Lind of Winter Haven; and two grandchildren. Mr. Ash was a former science teacher at Kathleen Jr. High School; a charter member of Crestview Baptist Church; a former member of Parkview Baptist Church; director of the Junior Academy of Sciences for the State of FLorida and a US Navy veteran of World War II. Visitation will be Sept. 30, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Chapel, Lakeland with graveside services on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Socrum Cemetery. Rev. Steve McGee will officiate.

BAKER, Bonnie Dabbs, age 98, of Zephyrhills, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2002. She is survived by son, C. Lloyd Dabbs of Cookeville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church of Lakeland, Fla. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2002 at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

BARNES, John `Scotty`, 91, formerly of Lake Placid, died Sept. 26, 2002 in Pekin, Ill. Survivors include Roy (Joyce) Barnes and Ray (Joyce) Barnes. Funeral will be Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin, Ill.

BOGAN, George, 68, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife, Muriel; son, John Bogan of Clayton, Ga.; daughter, Vickie Meyer of Brandon, Fla.; brother, Ragene Bogan of Tenn.; and a sister, Arline Locke of Chiefland, Fla. George was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars since 1954, transferring his membership to Post 4340 of Brandon in 1999. He will be memorialized at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. George will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from Pleasant Grove Assembly of God with Pastor Elton Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. DENNIS, Keith E., 54, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002 at home. Survivors include his loving companion of 23 years, Barbara C. Cordell; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Carol Knowlton; son, Chris Dennis; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mike Pennington; aunt and uncle, Katie and John Schultz; and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association or the American Heart Association. A memorial visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEROCHER, Nancy J. 63, of Tampa, died Sept. 23, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Haskins and husband, Richard; son, Norman Derocher; grandchildren, Ryan and Jordynn Haskins and Nicole and Elizabeth Derocher; great-grandson, Isaac Derocher; sister, Linda Rhoads and husband, Garry; and niece, Monica Beahm. She is predeceased by her parents, William E. and Brenda L. Beahm; and a brother, William C. Beahm. Memorial Services will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Carrollwood, Oct. 5, at 11:30 a.m. Interment Private Services. EICHHOLZ, Gerhard C., Ph.D., LCDR (Ret.), aka `Doc` and `Poppa Gary`, born Rochester, N.Y., passed away September 14, 2002. Predeceased by his daughter, Anita Corrine. He is survived by a son, Gary Eichholz III, Tampa, Fla.; sister, Martha Lemcke, Brockport, N.Y.; former spouse, friend and confidante, Antoinette (Toni) Eichholz, Tampa, Fla.; five nieces, nephews and grand nephews and nieces. He received M.S. Degree from Bowling Green State Univ., Ohio, and was on the teaching staff. He taught in Maumee, Ohio. Received his Ph.D. at Ohio State University, and was on staff there. He joined the Navy, was commissioned as a Naval Aviator with Squadron VP-5, Jacksonville, Fla.; retired from active Navy as LCDR, and remained in Naval Reserve. He was charter staff as well as Director, Division Educational Resources, University of South Florida. He developed and pursued the establishment of WUSF radio station FM 89.7, and WUSF television Channel 16, while Director for 13 years as well as establishing Open University which allowed students to take credit courses on TV. Left USF to start his own company developing educational training materials that are used throughout the world. He pub lished articles, created films, cassettes, and lesson guides for teaching and training. Produced materials for NFIE teaching kids math. Created another company, NSWI, was Senior Consultant and Advisor of safety and loss control in the solid waste industry throughout five states until his recent retirement due to health. This kind, humorous, overly generous man was loved and respected by many in hi s private pursuits, as well as the business world, and will be forever missed. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in his memory to LifePath Hospice, Tampa, Fla., or a favorite charity. Family contact is Gary Eichholz III. (813) 963-6096. FURLONG, Neil A. Sr., 67, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Thursday, September 26, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, Neil, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, Randall and his wife, Mandy and Kevin and his wife, Jennifer; two daughters, Julee Ann Coulter and her husband, Jim and Susan Kay Stevenson and her husband, Paul; mother, Velma Johnson; brother and friend, Patrick Furlong and hi s wife, LeeAnn; brother, Tracy Furlong, Jr.; sister, Kathy Belson; and nine grandchildren, Paul, Jessica, Megan, Christina, Tiffany, Aaron, Michele, Danielle and Jerry. A native of Oswego, N.Y., he moved to the area in 1971 coming from South Carolina. He was a member of the Causeway Baptist Church and served in the US Air Force for 20 years. He retired as a Technical Sergeant and was a veteran of Viet Nam. Memorial services will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, 7 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. GOODRICH, Pam, 47, died Sept. 5, 2002. Pam's family will receive her many friends at a celebration of her life on Sunday, October 6, 2002 from 1-5 p.m. at the Tampa Garden Center, 2629 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa, Fla.
