ASTORQUIZA, Rosa, age 87, of Tampa passed away Saturday, March 15, 2003. Mrs. Astorquiza was a teacher and business woman in her native Cardenas, Cuba. She was of the catholic faith and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Hugo Astorquiza in 1994. She moved to Tampa in 1976 from New Jersey. She is survived by her sons, Hugo and his wife, Teresa Astorquiza, Jorge and his wife Teresa Astorquiza of Tampa; her sister, Hermina Sosa of Coral Springs, her sisters Carida, Clara, Maria; and brother, Miguel; all in Cuba; grandchildren, Maritza and husband, Alex Cora, Harold and wife, Diana Astorquiza of Temple Terrace, Herold and wife, Janel Astorquiza, Melissa and husband, Randy Morgado, Jorge Astorquiza, Jr., Hugo and wife, Alli Astorquiza; 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 18th, 10:00 a.m. from the Boza Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., with Monsignor Diego Conesa officiating, with Entombment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Family will receive friends tonight, Monday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of Catholic Wake Rite Service at 6:30 p.m.

BLUNK, Larry G., 55, of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 at his residence under the care of LifePath Hospice. Larry is Survived by his wife of 17 years, Nancy S. Blunk; a daughter, Sarah Haire, Land O' Lakes, Fla.; five sisters, Ramona Littell, Cardington, Ohio, Linda Blunk, Maringo, Ohioi, Karen Bowell, Columbus, Ohio, Regina Emry, and Diana Renfrow; both of Morgantown, Ky.; and two brothers, Ricky and Rodney Blunk; both of Morgantown, Ky.

BUTTON, Luella , 82, of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 at the Austin House in Lutz. Born in Corning, N.Y. , Luella was an inspector for a glass manufacturing Co. before retiring and moving to Florida 28 years ago. She is a member of the Sheldon Road Baptist Church , a member of the Grange, the Town & Country chapter of A.A.R.P., and member of TOPS. Luella is survived by two sons, Rodney E. `Pete` Button, Tampa and Thomas J. Button, Orlando; five grandchildren, Theresa A. Pages, Colleen M. Maddox, Franklin Button, Stephen Button, and Sarah Button; and seven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Regina and Gayle; and three nephews, David, Tommy and Johnny. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayland Button. A Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa, where friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until service time.

CASTELLANO, Nick, 84, of Gainesville died March 14, 2003. Survived by wife, Lucy Castellano of Gainesville; two daughters, Aileen Worley of Grapevine, Texas and Claudia Harris of Gainesville; one son, Nick Brent Castellano of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Lily Guarino and Nina Urso; both of Tampa; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Castellano was a retired School Teacher with Hillsborough County. He was a World War II Army veteran and of the Catholic faith. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday March 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories in Tampa. CURRY, Bertha G, 76, of Tampa, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 14, 2003. She was preceded in death by her son, Riley James, and is survived by her husband of fifty years, Mark W. Curry, Jr.; daughters, Frances 'Cissy' Ryan, Barbara Kalita;son, Mark W. Curry, III; sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances M. Vaughn and her husband, Robert E. Vaughn; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Bertha was a former resident of Daytona Beach and was a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bertha and her husband Mark W. Curry, Jr. were the original owners of Curry's Funeral Home on South MacDill from 1957 to 1991. She was a member of Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, Tampa, Palma Ceia Golf And Country Club and Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue. there will be no funeral procession. Those wishing to be at the interment service are requested to meet at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 17th at the funeral home. FERLITA, Rosa, 98, passed away March 15, 2003. Born July 1, 1904 in Tampa, Fla., she was raised in Ybor City and was a cigar maker, wonderful mother, and housewife. Her husband of 60 years, Vincenzo Ferlita; and her loving daughter, Frances Quesada predeceased her. She is survived by her sons, Sam Ferlita and wife, Norma, and Tony Ferlita; six grandchildren, Sam Ferlita, Jr., Janie Scolaro, Eli zabeth Wilson, Dr. James Ferlita, Dr. Michael Ferlita, and Rose Ann Robles; 16 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her caretaker, Sonia Montoya for her years of loving and tender care. Flowers will be accepted or a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. JOHNSON, Gail Lorraine, age 84, of Tampa passed away March 13, 2003. She is survived by daughters, Mildred Kathleen Lightfoot, Loretta `Lori` Johnson, Tampa, Marsha Mock, Merritt Island; son, Virgil Johnson, Bay City, Mich.; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and an unselfishly giving person. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Gonzalez Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens with her loving husband, Marshall Johnson, `Together forever`.

LEWIN, Gregg Leo, age 43 of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Frances Schaffer and Arthur Fitzgerald; daughter, Neena Ann Lewin and fiancee, Suzette Hanson. LOGAN, Guy S., age 100, of Sebring, Fla., died March 13th at Kenilworth Care & Rehabilitation Center, Sebring. He was born in Anona, Florida and son of Hillsborough County pioneers, Murdo and Mary Ellen (Lowe) Logan. He retired as Operations Engineer for Mass Brothers, Tampa, Fla.; a member of the International Union of Operations Engineer and Seminole Hights United Methodist Church, Tampa. He moved to Sebring in 1999 from Tampa. Survivors include his sons, Guy S. (Gary Ldna) Logan, Jr., Sebring, and Edward M. Logan, Largo, Fla.; brothers, Milton Logan, Largo, Fla., and Maurice Logan, Brevard, N.C.; grandchildren, Lynn C. Kramer, Lake Tahoe, Calif., Beth (Brad) Lamb, and Karen R. (Jeff) Ladinsky; both of Sebring, William Logan, St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Graveside services 2:00 p.m., Monday at Garden of Memories, Tampa. MEZRAH, Alegra Hasson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away March 15, 2003. Predeceased by beloved husband, Morris Mezrah. Survived by devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Jack and Amiee Mezrah, and Leon and Diane Mezrah; loving grandsons, Todd and Shari Mezrah, Michael and Nicole Mezrah, Allan Mezrah, Lee Mezrah, and Brian and Michele Mezrah; and six great-grandchildren. POPE, Lucy Mae, 97, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2003 in Raleigh, N.C., where she lived for the past five years. Ms. Pope was porn In Luverne AL, but lived most of her life in Tampa, FL. She retired from Maas Brothers Department Store after many years of devoted service. She was a Charter Member of Tampa Primitive Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for the loving care she unselfishly provided to her loved ones through the years. She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Bobbie Caton and Lois Pope; both of Tampa, FL, Frances Buczak of Brooksville, FL, and Mary Jo Galloway of Charlotte, N.C. She is survived by one nephew, Earl D. Caron and wife, Elsie of Tampa, FL; two nieces, Betty Harkey and husband, Erskine of Charlotte, N.C., Carol Hagar and husband, Arnold; and eight great-nephews. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, FL 33618. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. before the service. He was a Police Officer in New York City and a veteran of the U.S.Navy serving in World War II. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a Catholic. Mr. Bayne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma M.; a son, Steven, of Lake Elsinore, California; two daughters, Joyce M. Vanburen of Deltona, Florida and Diane L. Allen of Petaluma, California; a brother, Charles Bayne of Melbourne, Florida; and five grandchildren. Born January 22, 1929 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to George William and Evelyn Violet Adele (Wood) Briggs, he has been a winter resident of Zephyrhills for several years. Mr. Briggs was a steel worker for a steel company.

She is survived by her loving husband and buddy of 33 years, Henry (Hank) Despres, Jr.; her two sons, Brian Despres of Brandon and Jonathan Despres of Bradenton; her brother, Ed Fresco of Branford, Conn.; and two grandchildren, Brenda and Cindy Despres. IZZO, EMILY I.,79, of New New Port Richey died March 17, 2003 at home. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and came here six years ago from Clearwater, where she had lived for 18 years. She was a homemaker; member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church; and the Fairway Springs Homeowners Assn. She is survived by three sons, Ronald Mack of Lebanon, Kentucky, Brian Mack of Marietta, Georgia, and Dominic Izzo of Houston, Texas; four brothers, Raymond Mills of Spindale, North Carolina, Donald and William Mills; both of Marco Island, Florida, Charles Mills of Little Silver, New Jersey; sister, Catherine Brady of New Port Richey; seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, Richard Mack. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dora Lee of Zephyrhills; two stepchildren, six step- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and three sisters-in law, Edna Quimby at New Gloster, Maine, Edith Rickards of Madison, Maine, and Winonah Brown of Dallas, Oregon. He was born December 12, 1913 in Manchester, N.H., to Charles and Mary (Bischacis) Lee, and came to the Zephyrhills area in 1999 from Buxton, Maine. He was a First Lt. in the Army during World War II, serving in Rhineland, Germany, Northern France, and Central Europe. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a pilot and a sportsman, and a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Manchester, N.H. A memorial services will be held in the Spring.

MARTIN, Donna L., 81, of New Port Richey, died March 13, 2003. Born in Flora Township, Illinois, she moved to Florida in 1960 from Belvidere, Illinois. She was a Presbyterian. She had served in the US Navy and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW #10167 of New Port Richey. She is survived by her son, Rusty Martin of New Port Richey; three daughters, Candy Jenkins and Carol Short, both of New Port Richey, and Melody Fascher of Port Richey; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
