BENNETT, Betty Jean, 74, of Zephyrhills, died Monday, May 19, 2003. She was born October 17, 1928 in Knoxville, Tenn. to Gaines and Verdie (Black) McLain. She made her home in Zephyrhills in 1958. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Bennett; three daughters, Brenda Spivey and Linda Taylor both of Lakeland and Becky Norton of Lithia; three sons, Doug Simpson of Knoxville, Tenn., Vincent Bennett and Lavoy Bennett both of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Elsie Qualls of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Clara Hill of Knoxville, Tenn. and Sandra Underwood of Dunn, North Carolina; a brother, Ted McLain of Haywood, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, attn: Moffit Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-9809. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home, Richey Chapel, 38303 North Ave., Zephyrhills. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

CLOSHEIM, Mary Veronica, 92, of Holiday, Fla., died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Integrated Health Services of Tarpon Springs. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Holiday from Queens, N.Y. in 1974. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Charles `Charlie` Closheim of Holiday; son, Louis D. Cork of Riverhead, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Kimberly Kennedy of Patchogue, N.Y., Melinda Young of Riverhead, N.Y. and Stephen Cork of Tampa; and four great-grandchildren.

FARR, Robert Stanley, 46, of Hudson, Fla., died Sunday, May 18, 2003 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson. He was born in Dade City, Fla., and was a lifetime resident of Pasco County. He was a concrete finisher for Canfield Construction Co., Port Richey and a maintenance man for Lawnscapes of Port Richey, and a Christian. Survivors include two sons, Randy Farr and Richie Farr of Dade City; daughter, Aubrey Lee Kidwell of Hudson; three brothers, Rodney Farr of Dade City, James Rodger Farr of Tampa, and Tommy Farr of Dade City; and three sisters, Abigail Posey of Hudson, Margie Tackett of Harold, Ky., and Margaret McGee of Danville, Ala.

FOYLE, Margaret C., 80, of Zephyrhills, went to be with the Lord May 19, 2003. Born in Zolfo Springs, Fla., she moved to this area 18 years ago from Tampa. She was a Registered Nurse and had served as a Navy Nurse during World War II. She was a graduate of Mound Park Nursing School in St. Petersburg, Fla., and was a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa most of her life. Mrs. Foyle was a member of First Baptist Church in Zephyrhills where a Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003 with Rev. Steve Odom officiating. The interment will follow the service in New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Zolfo Springs. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Foyle is survived by one daughter, Susanne and husband, Travis Rogers of Zephyrhills; two sisters, Doris and husband, Dean Richardson of Zolfo Springs and Bea and husband, Jep Stanaland of Wimauma; two grandchildren, Travis and wife, Robin Rogers, Jr. of Tampa and Scarlette and husband, Chuck Owens of Zephyrhills; one great-grandchild, Sydney and Trey Owens of Zephyrhills; and her beloved Cat `Smoky`. She is predeceased by her husband, Andy Foyle and one sister, Francis Wells.

GUSSE, Pauline P., 75, of Weeki Wachee, Fla., formerly of New Port Richey, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Bayonet Point Health & Rehab Center, Hudson, Fla. She was born in Rockbridge County, Va., and moved to Weeki Wachee from New Port Richey in 1994 and to New Port Richey in 1977 from Virginia. She was a retired executive secretary for Hercules. Inc., Covington, Va. (29 years of service), then later worked for Sonitrol Securities, New Port Richey for 12 years, and a church and choir member of the First Lutheran Church, New Port Richey. Survivors include two sons, George Allen Robertson of Columbia, S.C. and Roy Vaiden Robertson, Jr., of Highland County, Va.; two daughters, Nancy L. Agee of Claytor Lake, Va. and Terri Ann Pope of Hernando Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home where funeral service will be Friday May 23, at 11 a.m. Burial following at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater.

JANDER, Hedwig D., 87, of Port Richey, died on May 20, 2003 at home. Born in New York City, N.Y., she moved to the area in 1976 from Scotch Plains, N.J. She was retired from Cosmair, Inc. in Clark, N.J. She was a Catholic. She is survived by a daughter, Jeannette DeLago, of Holiday; four grandchildren, Donna Marie, Robert, Jon Paul and Tara; Eight great grandchildren.

LINTNER, Virgil Robert, 76, of Zephyrhills, died Tuesday, May 20, 2002 in Dade City. A native of Milwaukee, Wis., he had been a winter resident of Zephyrhills for the past 10 years. He retired from the Ladish Company in Cudahy, Wis., after working there for 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served on the U.S.S. New Orleans. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Milwaukee, Wis. He is survived by his wife, Marian Lintner; one son, Jeffrey Richard Lintner of Racine Co., Wis.; one daughter, Maribeth Jean Kaiser of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Buddy Lintner of Amarillo, Texas and Neal Lintner of Waukesha, Wis.; one sister, Joan of Milwaukee, Wis.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

O'SUCH, John N., 79, of Port Richey, died May 19, 2003 at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey. Born in Garwood, N.J., he moved to Florida in 1966 from Garwood, N.J. John was a retired Foreman with Flamingo Paper Company, a veteran of the US Army Air Force serving in World War II and a Catholic. He was a past member of the VFW and the American Legion. Survivors include two brothers, Michael O'Such of Stuart, Fla. and Frank O'Such of Stewartsville, N.J.; and three sisters, Helen Hall of Port Richey, Mary Schadewaid of Palm beach Gardens, Fla. and Ann Fitch of Landsdowne, Va.

SUDER, John E., 94, of Hudson, Fla., died on May 20, 2003 at Tandem Healthcare, New Port Richey, Fla. Born in Detroit, Mich., he moved to Fla. in 1977 from Detroit, Mich., where he was an accountant for Ford Motor Co., Detroit, Mich. John was a Veteran of Worl War II, serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Methodist Faith. He is survived by a brother, Robert Suder, of Austin, Texas; and also a Nephew. CAMPANELLA, Charles J., 79, of Zephyrhills, passed away May 16, 2003 in South Pasadena. He is survived by his wife, Gladys M. Campanella of Zephyrhills; three sons, Michael Campanella of East Aurora, N.Y., Robert Campanella of Bridgeville, Pa., and Peter Campanella of South Wales, N.Y.; several grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three sisters, Carol Doyle of Orchid Park, N.Y., Jane Royalski of Buffalo, N.Y., and Josephine Czuprynski of Eden, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Born September 22, 1923 in Buffalo, New York to Charles and Maria (Micciche) Campanella, he worked as a rigger in the steel industry and came to Zephyrhills in 1997 from E. Aurora, New York and he was a Lutheran.

DOTSON, Issac `Ike`, 53, of Zephyrhills, passed away at his home Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 1:48 a.m. Ike battled cancer at home for three months. He was employed by Kinsey Central Air for over 20 years. Ike is survived by his wife, Kathy `Kat` Dotson of Zephyrhills; sons, Tony ODell Dotson of Poplar Branch, N.C., Kevin Lee and wife Barbara Dotson of South Tampa, Jeffrey Grant and wife Reginia Dotson of Zephyrhills; daughters, Kimberly Denise Dotson of Dade City; sisters, Julie Beck and Margie Reynolds of Lakeland, Alma Brogden and Davenna Wingate of Nashville, Ga.; three grandsons and three granddaughters, several nieces and nephews. FLETCHER, Jim R., age 60, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was a native of Moultrie, Ga. and lived in Hinesville, Ga. for the past 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #168 in Hinesville. He had previously served in the Florida National Guard. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Sandra Fletcher of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; two nephews; one niece; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; one step-daughter, Hollis Anderson of Hinesville; and two step-sons, Billy Anderson and Bobby Anderson, both of Hinesville. FRANKLIN, Marie W., 82, of Holiday, Florida, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. She was born in Knott, Kentucky and moved to Holiday from California, Ky. in 1991. She was the owner and seamstress of A to Z Sewing in Alexandria, Ky., a member of Peoples Baptist Church of West Pasco in Holiday and a member of Crime Watchers of Buena Vista Mobile Home Park in Holiday. Survivors include two sons, Daniel R. Franklin and Michael W. Franklin, both of Foster, Ky.; daughter, Connie Myers of Holiday; three brothers, Charles Williams of Alexandria, Ky. and Jim Williams and Robert Williams, both of St. Albans, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Peoples Baptist Church of West Pasco.

He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years of service and was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Fay C. Hinz of New Port Richey; sons, Mark Hallisey of New Port Richey and Thomas Hallisey of Albany, N.Y.; daughters, Kristine Hallisey of Port Richey, Beth Borruso of Franklin Square, N.Y., Eileen Kredak of Queens, N.Y.; 19 Grandchildren; and 15 Great Grandchildren.

MOTLEY, John Paul, 86, of Dade City, passed away May 21, 2003 in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his wife, Alverta `Betty` (Myers) Motley of Dade City; three daughters, Pat Martin of Riverview, Gladys Hubbard of Gulfport and Gail Kolk of Manistee, Mich.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Kimbrell. Mr. Motley was born December 9, 1916 in Albany, Ga. to William E. Temple and Leila Mae Motley and came to Dade City in 1973 from Kalamazoo, Mich. He was a Veteran of the Navy serving in World War II, a member of the Eagles, a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E., a member of the Toastmasters and a Methodist. Inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.

RUDEEN, Kenneth Samuel, a four-decade veteran of Sports Illustrated magazine, died on May 21, 2003 in New Port Richey, Fla. He was 73. The cause was complications of cancer. Mr. Rudeen was born on August 21, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. His career in journalism began at age 14 when he went to work for The Kansas City Star and Times, folding papers for delivery. He became obituary editor and later the top general assignment reporter for the Times. He was the Star's own correspondent while attending the University of Kansas, where he graduated in 1952. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he joined the staff of Sports Illustrated in September 1954, three months after the magazine was founded. Starting out as a reporter, then writer, he became senior editor in charge of baseball, college football, hockey, motor racing and sailing. Noted for being an excellent headline writer, he posed Joe Namath in Times Square for the cover of the magazine, creating `Broadway Joe.` Mr. Rudeen was executive editor of Sports Illustrated when he retired in 1991. He wrote, Men at Speed, The Swiftest, and an enduring series of books for children about minority sports heroes: Wilt Chamberlain, Roberto Clemente, Jackie Robinson and Muhammed Ali. His interests were long-distance bicycling, ballroom dancing and bridge. He is survived by his wife, Anne, of South Salem, N.Y. and New Port Richey; his sister, Joan Bleich of Kansas City, Kan.; his daughter, Louisa Rudeen Beckett of Norwalk, Conn., editor in chief of Motor Boating magazine; son-in-law, Gary Beckett; and granddaughter, K aitlyn Beckett. AZCANO, Gilbert O., age 92, of Temple Terrace passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003. He was a member of Universal Lodge No. 178 F.&A.M., past Grand Patron of Eastern Star Harmony Chapter. He was a multi Gold Medal Recipient in the Senior Olympics in 2000 through 2002. He was preceded in death by his brother Pedro Celestino Ascano. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Theresa; daughter, Norma Albano and husband Peter; sister, Zoraida Alonso; brother, Andy Osorio; grandchildren, Terry Milis and husband George, Robin Griffin and husband Duane, Lori Morel and husband Steve, Dru Albano; great grandchildren, Stephen and Eric Milis, Krista and Richard Griffin, Peter Nicholas Gilberto Albano and Stephanie Morel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 26, 2 p.m. at Boza Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., with interment to follow at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park.
