Taniq Aresia Thomas was taken to a higher ground on March 30, 2004. She is survived by her parents, Todd and Tammy Thomas, her brothers, Todd Jr. and Tariq; her sister Janovia.
All who were fortunate to be in her world will treasure her short time on this earth. She also leaves behind a loving second family, the Barnes, and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 3, 2004 from St. Mary M.B. Church, 2182 Mitchell Court, Ft. Myers. Interment to follow in Ft. Myers Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to Hickson Funeral Home, Inc., 2530 Highland Ave., Ft. Myers, FL 334-6440.

Jean Slingerland Troland ws born December 13, 1921 in Boston, MA. She was a resident of Ft. Myers Florida and Hingham, Massachusetts. She graduated from Newtown High School in Newton, MA and married E. Parker Troland at Old South Church in Boston on November 1, 1941. Mrs. Troland was active in Hingham civic activities and, with her husband neighbors, re-opened the Second Parish, an 18th Century church that had been closed during World War II. She owned and operated the Troland Mailing Service, a bulk mailer for both commercial and charitable organizations. Mr. and Mrs. Troland retired to Ft. Myers in 1977 where she was active in community events at Sunshine Mobile Village and worked as a volunteer at Reach for Recovery of the American Cancer Society and at Southwest Regional Hospital.
She is survived by sisters; Dorothy Kane of Dennis, MA and Ft. Myers and Miriam Sargent of Ft. Myers; sister-in-law Margaret Slingerland of Abell, MD and Ft. Myers; daughters Nancy Greenfiled of Pembroke, MA, Karen Delano of Hull, MA and Gretchen Stoddard of Berlin, MA, by 2nd cousin Norman Clarke of Turner's Falls, MA who was a member of the nuclear family and by three grandchildren including Lane Mabbett, Jr. of Whitman, MA and by two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held for both MR. Troland who predeceased her in January of this year and for Mrs. Troland at the Sanibel Congregational Church on Saturday, April 3 at 1:00 PM and in Hingham, MA at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers are encouraged.

Memorial services for John 'Jack' Henry Kelley retired C.W.O.-3 U.S. Marines age 66 died at Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL June 2, 2004 will be held at St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Sebring, June 6, 2004 at 6:00 PM. Father James Kurtz of St. Agnes officiating.
John is survived by his loving wife Martha J. Kelley of Sebring, daughter Julie Ann Bell of Ft. Myers, FL, sons John H. Kelley, Jr. of Eagle Ridge, AK, and Albert 'Al' L. Kelley of Key West, FL; sisters, Mary Birarelli of Trumbull, CT and Roma Ryder of Hudson, NC; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
John was retired form the U.S. Marines with rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3rd Class. He was a 20 year Veteran serving in Viet Nam 2 tours. He moved to Sebring from Marathon, FL 4 years ago, was a member of choir of St. Agnes Episcopal Church, member of Marines Counter Intelligence Assoc. and Commandant of Cracker Trail Marine Corp League. He was born in Pinehurst, NC in 1938. John was a man who loved his family, church and country.
Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Arrangements under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home in Sebring, FL.

Terry R. Lautenbach, long time Darien, CT resident and retired IBM senior executive, died Wednesday in Bedford Hills, NY. He was 65. He died of heart failure according to his family. He was with his nephew, Marc Lautenbach, at the time of his death.
Born August 10, 1938 in Cincinnati, OH, Mr. Lautenbach was the second son of the late Frances Herbert and Robert Charles Lautenbach. Mr. Lautenbach graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1959 and joined IBM that same year.
Mr. Lautenbach and his wife, Carole, moved to Darien in 1974, where they raised their six daughters. He held a variety of senior executive positions while at IBM. When he retired in 1992, he was a senior vice president and a member of the four-person IBM Management Committee. He oversaw a large part of IBM's operations, including its U.S. sales force and its worldwide manufacturing and development. He held a number of marketing and management posts during his rise to become the youngest president of the data processing division in 1976. Afterward, he served in a series of senior positions in the United States and internationally, including chairman IBM Americas, Far East and Group Executive Information Systems and Communication Group.
Mr. Lautenbach left a strong legacy at IBM. Retired IBM Chairman and CEO, John Opel, said of Mr. Lautenbach, 'Terry had an extremely bright and quick intellect matched with his sensitive good humor and energy that gave him the ability to be excellent in everything he pursued - family, business, career and social and civic endeavors - every place he added value. We all wanted him on our team.'
Part of Mr. Lautenbach's legacy included contributions to the advancement of women and African Americans at IBM. Ted Childs, IBM vice president, said of Mr. Lautenbach, 'Terry was committed to all people and ensured that everyone had a fair chance. He hated intolerance and injustice and had a profound impact on my career and ability to do the work that I do at IBM.'
Mr. Lautenbach was also an active member of the Darien Community, serving as president of the board of trustees of the Darien Library, Campaign Chairman for the Darien United Way and on his church council. After retiring from IBM, Mr. Lautenbach moved to Sanibel, FL but continued to visit Darien frequently.
Mr. Lautenbach remained active after his retirement, serving as a director on various corporate boards, including Varian Medical Systems, CVS, Footstar, Air Products and Loomis Sayles. Mr. Lautenbach was an avid golfer and a founding member and first president of the Sanctuary Golf Club in Sanibel, FL.
While known primarily as a leader in the business world, Mr. Lautenbach was most proud of his family, both immediate and extended. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather known to his thirteen grandchildren as Poppop. He was at his happiest when surrounded by as many family members as possible.
Mr. Lautenbach is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carole; his six daughters, Jennifer Streeter of Darien, CT, Susan Bates, Julie Maxman, Martha Lautenbach, Mary Lautenbach and Anne Stern of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Ned Lautenbach, Dan Lautenbach, Jim Lautenbach and one sister, Cynthia Chappell. Mr. Lautenbach's oldest brother, Thom, is deceased. Mr. Lautenbach is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren and four godsons.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 7, 2004 at Saint Isabel Catholic Church, 3559 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel, FL. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Sunday at Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Home, 1600 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. A Scripture service will be held at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elder High School, Lautenbach Scholarship Fund, 3900 Vincent Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45205.

Leslie L. 'Les' Mumford, 56, of Cape Coral passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004. He was born in Boon Hill, NC, the son of Ralph & Ethel (Evans) Mumford. He came to Cape Coral from North Carolina in 1957 and was affiliated with Page Field Aviation.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda; his mother Ethel Mumford, Cape Coral; 2 daughters, Shannon Mumford, Ft. Myers and Shelby (Brian) Richardson, Cape Coral; 4 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be celebrated at the North Ft. Myers Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, June 6, 2004 at 2:00 PM.
Memorials in his name may be directed to the 'Make A Wish Foundation'.

Walter H. Schliessman, 75, a resident of Lehigh Acres since 1979, from East Meadow, Long Island, NY passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004 at his residence while under the compassionate care of the Red Team of Hope Hospice. Walter was born December 18, 1918 in Corona, NY to the late Martin and Margaret (Kelly) Schliessman. Walter was a WWII Hero who proudly served his country with 165th Infantry of the U.S. Army. He was the recipient of two Bronze Service Stars for service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, the Gilbert Islands and Mariannes; he was awarded a Purple Heart with One Oak Leaf Cluster for wounds received in action. He was also presented the Combat Infantry Award, earned the New York State Combat Infantry Badge and Conspicuous Service Cross for Valor. Walter was a member of the military Order of the Purple Heart; the DAV (Disabled American Veterans); American Legion Post 323; and BPOE Lodge #2602 Lehigh Acres. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two brothers: Martin and Daniel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years: Mary (Leahy) Schliessman, Lehigh Acres; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Frank Renzulli, Lehigh Acres; Linda and Daniel Cameron, Coral Springs, FL; six grandchildren: Debra Allen; Mary Byland; Frank Renzulli, Jr.; Michele Cameron; Nicole Cameron; six great grandchildren: Lauren, Nicholas, Scott, Frankie III, Joseph, and Danny; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Loretta and Richard Martin, Long Island, NY; Joan and Hugh Blake, Fairhaven, NY.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. SUNDAY, June 6, 2004 at the Farley Funeral Home, corner of Lee Boulevard and Williams Avenue (enter from Williams Avenue). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2004 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, with Fr. Henry as celebrant. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park. military Honors will be presented by his comrades of American Legion Post 323. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in loving memory of Walter may be directed to Hope Hospice , 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Lehigh Acres. He will be deeply missed by all.

Michael Bond, 51 of Pompano Beach passed away Sunday, June 6. He is survived by his parents, Morris, 'Moe' and Ruth Bond, Formerly of both Ft. Myers and New Jersey, his cousins, Mort Goldberg and Harvey (Bobbi) Goldberg and their families, all of Ft. Myers.
Services are today, Wednesday, June 10th at 3:00 PM at Ft. Myers Memorial Garden Cemetery, Gam Shalom Section.

Roberta H. Brush, 81, of Ft. Myers, FL went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2004. She was born May 22, 1923 in Portland, Indiana. She is survived by her husband Richard L. Brush of Ft. Myers, daughters, Nancy (Woodrow) Campbell of Muncie, IN, Janet Hughey & Joyce (Richard) Badders of Ft. Myers, Terri( Howard) Fuhrman of Portland, OR, Becky (Lee) Bray of Muncie, IN, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Dwaine Hughey, a daughter Brenda Brush, a sister Frances Williams, and a brother Raymond Mock.
Private family funeral services will be held at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Entombment will take place in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1436 Royal Palm Square Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33919.

James Anthony Dalessandro left this life on Sunday June 6, 2004 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral after a six year struggle with Stage IV Colon Cancer. He entered this life on November 9, 1937 to Nicholas Dalessandro and Florence Margaret Peltier in Detroit, MI. He attended St. David's and Southeastern on the eastside. His career was with computers. There was great joy in pop music of the 40's and 50's and the University of Michigan football games at home and away. Cruising and resorting in the Carribean many times was a great adventure for him.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Theresa, his children, Mark, Marie and Michael (Amy) Dalessandro, his step-daughter Kathy Firestone, his four grandchildren, his four grandchildren, his brothers Eugene (Delia) and Jerry (Dorothy), his aunt Edith (Pete) Evangelista, his uncle Michael (Theresa) Dalessandro, his aunt Dorothy Peltier, his aunt Irene Peltier and many cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday June 11, 2004 at 1 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2157 Cleveland Ave., Ft. Myers. Memorials may be made to The Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 4820703496 or Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908. Cremation and memorialization arrangements by North Ft. Myers Memorial Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Capt. Daniel (Danny) William Eggers, 28, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday in St. Andrew Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. He died May 29 while serving his country in Afghanistan. A burial service is planned for June 22 at Arlington National Cemetery.
Born July 15, 1975 in Pueblo, CO, he spent his early years in Hollis, NH, until moving to Cape Coral in 1987. He graduated from Cape Coral High School in 1993.
He earned a history degree from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army infantry in May 1997. He was stationed at Fort Stewart, GA. He began special forces training in July 2001 and earned his Green Beret in February 2003. He was deployed to Afghanistan in April 2003 and returned to the United States in October 2003. He was deployed again in April.
He spent his life and his time in Special Forces helping others become what they often thought they could not be. His dedication inspired every person he came in contact with. For that, he will forever be remembered.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca, and sons, John and William, all of Fort Bragg, NC; his parents, Margaret and William Eggers of Cape Coral; five siblings in Cape Coral, Anne Marie, Stephen, Maris, Mary Jeanne and Rose Mary; and a brother, William, who awaits deployment to Iraq with the U.S. Army, 24th Infantry Division.

Christine Fehlberg, 93, of Cape Coral passed away on Saturday June 5, 2004 in Arlington, Texas. She was born on Sept. 19, 1910 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Even and Andrea Odberg Wangen. She moved to this area January of 1963 and was charter member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1978 and a son, Gerald in 1988.
Surviving are her children, William (Anna) Fehlberg of Tampa, Roger (Delores) Fehlberg of Cape Coral, and Audrey Haight of Grand Prairie, Texas; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 12, 2004 at 1 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 2911 Del Prado Blvd. Interment will follow at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday June 11, 2004 from 5 to 7 PM in the Chapel of the Cape Coral Memorial Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. Memorials in Mrs. Fehlberg's memory may be made to Christ Lutheran Church Youth & Family Ministry Fund, 2911 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33904.
