CARMEN FERNANDEZ, 98, of Tampa died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Spain, she moved to Tampa in 1916. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Eustasio Jr. and James A., both of Tampa; a sister, Delfina Martinez of Spain; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. CORETTA ELTHENA FOSTER, 60, of Tampa died Monday in Oldsmar. A native of Cayman Brac, British West Indies, she moved to Tampa in 1960 from Port Arthur, Texas. She was a customer service representative for Nations Bank and member of Florida Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Edward S.; a brother, John Bodden Jr. of Tampa; and two sisters, Marilyn "Lucy" Morse and Betty Carlton, both of Tampa. ROBERT HASSON, 80, of Tampa died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Lincolnton, N.C., he moved to Tampa in 1957 from Clearwater Beach. He was a manager and concessionaire for Outdoor Amusement Inc., an Army veteran of World War II, member of GTSA, Elks Lodge 1519, Hillsborough Lodge 25 F & AM, Tampa Consistory, Egypt Shrine Temple, Showmens League of America and volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital. GILMER BURTON LASHMIT, 77, of Tampa died Monday. A native of Forsyth County, N.C., he moved to Tampa in 1954 from Lenoir, N.C. He was a carpenter, a Marine veteran of World War II, Baptist and recipient of the Purple Heart. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Lashmit Carter of Tampa; five brothers, Spencer of Rhonda, N.C., Floyd Ray of Derwood, Md., Don of McLainsville, N.C., Carl of Elkin, N.C. and James of Spicewood, Texas; two sisters, Pauline Clark of Williamsburg, Va. and Phyllis McCoy of Bunnlevel, N.C.; and a granddaughter. GENEVA S. LINTON, 73, of Plant City died Monday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Plant City, she was a homemaker and member of Plant City Church of God. ELIZABETH M. LOUNSBURY, 77, of Odessa died Monday in Tampa. A native of Stacy Basin, N.Y., she moved to Odessa in 1981 from Hollywood. MARIA NANCY MENDOZA of Orlando died Saturday. A native of Havana, she moved to Orlando one year ago from Tampa. She was a nurse and Catholic. MABEL K. PHILLIPS, 88, of Tampa died Monday at Hillhaven Rehabilitation. A native of Long Point, Texas, she moved to Tampa in 1990. GEORGE ROBERT "BOB" SPRINKLE, 79, of Lutz died Tuesday. A native of Burrows, Ind., he moved to the area in 1932. He was the owner of Sprinkle-Quinby Electric Co. and Inland Development Co., an Army Air Corps veteran, member and elder at Hillsboro Christian Community Church and youth leader at First Christian Church. GEORGE E. BLACKSHEAR JR., 70, of Thonotosassa died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital. A native of Lakeland, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired captain for Tampa Police Deptartment, a Navy veteran of World War II, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 424 and Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his wife, Ruby S.; a son, George E. III of Utica, N.Y.; two daughters, Cathy Strawser of Lutz and Edwena J. GLENN C. COLGAN, 74, of Safety Harbor died Monday at Mease Hospital Dunedin. A native of Detroit, he moved to this area in 1986 from Lapeer, Mich. He was a maintenance worker for General Motors Corp. in Flint, Mich. for 36 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lapeer and Protestant. He is survived by his wife, Colleen A.; four sons, William of Clearwater, Wesley of Davison, Mich., Robert of Safety Harbor and James of Lapeer; two daughters, Glenda Colgan Johnson of Lum, Mich., and Tracy Colgan Hoyt of Mesa, Ariz,; a brother, Robert of Pinellas Park; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
