Mrs. Mary R. Stedham, age 77, of 1904 Clay Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at a local nursing home. She has been a resident of the area since 1959, coming here from Anniston, Ala. Mrs. Stedham was a member of the Jenks Avenue Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband: Matt Stedham of Panama City, Fla.; daughters: Wanda Dick and her husband Danny, and Mary Nelson and her husband Randy, all of Panama City, Fla.; a grandson: Keith Michael Nelson of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters: Virginia Hilbird and Fay McMurray, both of Anniston, Ala.; brothers: Roscoe Rainwater of New York, Douglas Rainwater and Robert Charles Rainwater, both of Anniston, Ala. Funeral services for Mrs. Stedham will be held today, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel with Mr. Jack Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will be staying at the home of Mary and Randy Nelson, 1700 Rhode Island Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Calvin Smith, C.L. Smith, Paul Calhoun, Ferrel Lawrence, Hugh Tucker, and Todd Reece. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Peavler, Benny Hawkins, Jack Hobson, and John Colburn.

ANNA LOUISE WATSON SAPP
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Louise Watson Sapp, 90, who died on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Bay Crest Nursing Center, will be conducted today, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Panama City with the Rev. Si Mathison and the Rev. Al Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in memory of Anna Louise Watson Sapp. Active pallbearers are Jerry Kennedy, James Sapp, J.T. Bozarth, Albert M. Lewis III, James C. Lewis, and Joe Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wesley Bible Class of the First United Methodist Church.

HARRY JUNIOR BAKER
Harry Junior Baker, 80, of Milton and formerly of Panama City, died Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, Ada Rosemary Baker, and son, Thomas Baker. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Mr. Glenn Wesley Black Sr., 68, of 802 Michigan Ave., Lynn Haven, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at his residence. He had been a resident of Lynn Haven since 1945, coming here from Converse, S.C. He was a member of the Converse Baptist Church. Locally Mr. Black owned and operated Glenn Amusement Co. and was known as the "Jukebox Man" to everyone. He was a 32-degree Mason and member and past master of the Harry Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 314. He was a Shriner, and a member of the York and Scottish Rites and a member of the Shaddai Clowns. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Mr. Black is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Black of Lynn Haven; four daughters: Sheila Black Penny of Lynn Haven, Ann Clark of Southport, Patricia Black Kent of Lynn Haven, and Mary Welch of Sebring; four sons: Robert Johnson of Fountain, Glenn Black Jr. of Lynn Haven, Donald Black of Fountain, and Jimmy Black of Youngstown; a brother, Bill Petty of Youngstown; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Eugene Black; his mother, Luna Petty; his brother, James Hoyt Petty; his brother, Don Black; and his sister, Margaret Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 27, 1999, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Capt. M. Newton Brown and the Rev. Omar Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites to be conducted by the Harry Jackson Lodge No. 314. Members of the Harry Jackson Lodge No. 314 will serve as active pallbearers.

RUTH SHELTON NANCE
Mrs. Ruth Shelton Nance began her earthly journey Nov. 20, 1916, in Chattanooga, Tenn., and spent her early years in Cowan, Tenn. During her Grundy County High School years she played tennis, lettered in basketball and was an outstanding scholar as well. After receiving her education at Middle Tennessee State Teaching College, she used her education, gentle touch and kindness to teach the poverty-stricken children in a one-room schoolhouse in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and later had a kindergarten in Port St. Joe. Ruth was a member of the Wewahitchka Church of Christ, a charter member of the Sea Oats and Dunes Garden Club, Florida State Garden Club, National Council of State Garden Clubs and a Master Flower Show Judge Emeritus. She exhibited her artistic ability through flower arrangements, shared her knowledge of wildflowers, inspired others to become involved with plants and loved digging in God's earth. Preceding her in death were her parents, Christopher Ellis and Sallie Lou Shelton; and three brothers: Billy, Ray and Shep. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Nance; her son, David Nance and his wife Rita of Fortson, Ga.; her daughter, Carol Smith of Lynn Haven; and three grandsons: Chad Nance of Lexington, Ky., and Chris Smith and Wes Smith, both of Lynn Haven. She also had a step-granddaughter, Melissa Thomas and her husband Tim, and two step-great-grandchildren, Hunter and Caitlyn Thomas, all of Columbus, Ga. Ruth's family and friends will gather at Holly Hill Cemetery today, Nov. 26, 1999, at 4 p.m. EST to carry out her wishes for a simple graveside service.

ODIES HENRY TAYLOR
Odies Henry Taylor, 74, of 190 Glenwood St., Wewahitchka, died Friday, Nov. 26 in a local hospital. He was retired from the civil service and had been a resident of this area since the 1950s. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Lodell Taylor; daughter, Linda Sides and her husband Alex; son, Larry O. Taylor, all of Wewahitchka; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Letha Nolin and Zelma Sasser. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Springfield Community Church with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Florala, Ala. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

HOMER EARL THOMAS
Homer Earl Thomas of Panama City died Nov. 23, 1999. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Souter Thomas, and father of Nanci T. Lank, Hanover, Md., Carole T. Rodgers and James E. Thomas, both of Casanova, Va. Mr. Thomas had been a resident of Panama City for 24 years and was retired from Associates. He was a member of Panama Country Club and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary, 500 Hospital Drive, Warrenton, Va. 20186.

LEO LAWRENCE MORRISON
Mr. Leo Lawrence Morrison, 76, of 21624 Sunset Ave., Panama City Beach, died Friday, Nov. 26, at his residence. He had been a resident of Panama City Beach for 10 years, coming here from Muskegon, Mich. Mr. Morrison served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. During his life Mr. Morrison worked as a deputy sheriff, a police officer, a justice of the peace, an aircraft assembler and finally an auctioneer after retiring from Teledyne Corp. He was involved in local politics in the Muskegon area serving on the Jolman School Board and the Muskegon Township Zoning Board. Locally he was a member of Pythagoras Masonic Lodge No. 358, the Scottish Rite and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10555. He enjoyed boating and fishing, loved music and was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Patsy Morrison of Panama City Beach; a sister Virginia Miller of Laporte, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Morrison. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Floyd officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Pythagoras Lodge No. 358. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shriners Burn Institute, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.

PHYLLIS ANN BYRD
Phyllis Ann Byrd, 71, of Ocala and formerly of Panama City, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gouveneur, N.Y., and moved to Ocala from Panama City in 1997. She was secretary/bookkeeper at the St. Andrews Bay Center in Lynn Haven. She is survived by her husband, H. Lou Byrd of Ocala; two sons, Terry Lynn Byrd of Jacksonville and Timothy Louis Byrd of Ocala; one brother, Ralph Booher of Augusta, Ga., and five grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ocala. WILFORD KENNETH HANCOCK SR.
Mr. Wilford Kenneth "Ken, Bubba" Hancock Sr., 70, of 318 Coronado St., Port St. Joe Beach, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at his residence. Born in Key West, he moved here about four years ago from Geneva, Ala. He was a maintenance electrician with General Electric of Dothan, Ala., a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God and veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Hancock is survived by his stepmother Wanda Hancock of Daytona Beach; son Wilford Kenneth Hancock Jr. and wife Kimberly of Baker, Fla.; three daughters: Brenda Christiansen and husband Charles of Safety Harbor, Deborah Kimbrell and husband Frank of Safety Harbor and Kathryn Hayes and husband Ricky of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers: Blondel Hancock of Chiefland, Manuel Hancock of Key West and Carl "Bubbie" Hancock of Charleston, S.C.; four sisters: Ruth Garcia of Port St. Joe, Frida Clarke of Alamogorda, N.M., Mary Wilson of Orlando, and Karanina Hancock of Daytona Beach; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Dave Fernandez and the Rev. Earl Weech officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Gilmore-Southerland Funeral Home.
