Marianne Esquilin, 65, of Seymour, Tenn. departed this life Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, following a lengthy illness.

She had spent the last five years in the Seymour area.

She is survived by: Her daughter, Margarita Smalls of Marianna; two sons, Chestnut Brown III, currently serving in Iraq, and Thomas Esquilin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and very close friends of the family, Shawnee-Ada Grazieno and her husband Dan of Colorado Springs, Colo.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Highland South Funeral Home.

Ronald Harry Rose, 69, of Alford, passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at his residence in Alford.

He had resided in Alford since 1988, coming from Miami. He was the youngest of 13 children, being born Dec. 17, 1933, to Elbert Byron and Bessie Pearce Rose in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

He worked with Pan-American Airlines for 23 years as manager in air cargo. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was of the Baptist faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Alford.

He was a baseball coach. He was the founder of R&D Auto Electric in Panama City. His hobbies were fishing, gardening, camping and was a racing fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. (No. 3). He loved his family dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Byron and Bessie Pearce Rose; and brothers Elbert Byron Rose Jr., Robert Warren Rose, Franklin Allen Rose and Vincent Rose.

He is survived by: His loving wife of 49 years, Inez Thompson Rose of Alford; five sons, Ronald Douglas Rose of Panama City, Kevin Allen Rose of Panama City, Jeffrey Lee Rose of Alford, Donald Aaron Rose of Panama City, and Timothy Neal Rose of Panama City; three brothers, Wilbur Graham Rose of New Jersey, James Pyeser Rose of New Jersey, and John David Rose of New Jersey; five sisters, Margaret Pearce of New Jersey, Anna Mae Gehring of New Jersey, Darlene Rose Hamburg, of New Jersey, Roberta Joyce Ketcham of New Jersey, and Joan Francis Rose of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Genevieve, Kevin, Haley and Crystal; and several nieces, nephews and friends; a special great-niece, Ashley Clark; and two special friends, Ann Kittson and Ann Landers.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the First Baptist Church in Alford with the Rev. Tommy Seadorf officiating. Interment will follow in the Wachob-Forest Lawn Cemetery in Chipley with Brown Funeral Home directing.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Alford.

Those asked to serve as active pallbearers are Richard Thompson, Fred Thompson, Edward Rush, Todd Neiheiser, Ricky Barrow and Mike Clayton.

Casey Richard Davis Jr., infant son of Casey Davis and Carolyn Votta, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Jackson Hospital.

Other survivors include parental grandparents, Ricky and Connie Davis, and maternal grandmother Carolyn Ostrum.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. CST at Sonrise Baptist Cemetery in Compass Lake with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Funeral services for Ann M. Ward will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 19, at James and Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Herman Rudolph McMillian, 93, of Grand Ridge died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in the Blountstown Health and Rehab Center.

He was a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of the Dellwood Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by: The mother of his children, Stallie Simpson McMillian; daughter, Naomi McMillian; and granddaughter, Beverly McMillian Lawrence.

He is survived by: His children, Mildred Lawson and her husband Hubert of Sneads, Jean Wyckoff and her husband Jim of Sneads, H.L. "Buddy" McMillian and his wife Earlene of Grand Ridge, Beatrice Gilley and her husband L.J. of Grand Ridge, Doris Edenfield and her husband Ronald of Grand Ridge, and James McMillian and his wife DeDe of Grand Ridge; one sister, Verna Baxter of Sneads; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Salem Wesleyan Church with Pastors Jack Howell, Bill Pevy and Sam Swinney officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening, Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Salem Wesleyan Church Building Fund.

Rebecca Spencer, 60, of Sneads died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, in Jackson Hospital.

She is survived by: Her daughter, Carolyn Lewis Lee (Billy) of Sneads; granddaughters, Shelia Pennywell Gibson (Malcolm) of Quincy, and Ebony Lee of Sneads; one grandson, Billy Ray Lee of Sneads; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Monroe, Wilhemina Rose of Sneads, Hattie Sykes (Isiah) of Greenwood, and Esther Bowers (Milford) of Queens, N.Y.; and brothers, Nathaniel Koonce of Sneads, Clinton Thomas (Etta) of Orlando, Iseral Minor, and Charles Minor (Lavern), both of Miami.

The funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sneads with the Revs. Eddie Bowers, and C.S. Pope officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will lie at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Vann Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles T. McGraw Jr., 83, of Lynn Haven died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in a local hospital.

He was a 1942 graduate of Georgia Tech University. After graduation, he went to work for Air Research Company in Hampton, Va. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army before transferring to the U.S. Air Force Central Intelligence Command. After his military service, he went to work for Worthington Pump Co. in New Jersey. He then returned to Georgia Tech where he received his master's degree in engineering. He then went to work for Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Ga. before moving to Panama City in 1958 to work as a civil engineer at the Naval Coastal System Station where he retired. He was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church and the BPOE Elks Club.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Charles and Louise McGraw Sr.; a sister, Ann Keene; and a brother, Eomer McGraw.

He is survived by: His wife, Willie (Sissie) McGraw; his children, Greg Roland and his wife Joyce, and Scott Roland and his wife Melanie; his grandchildren, Ashley Roland, Anna Roland, Colby Roland, and Avery Roland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright and the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church of Cottondale Cemetery in Cottondale.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Those desiring to may make a contribution to Covenant Hospice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Flynn, Dr. Dempsey, and the staff of Covenant Hospice and Bay Medical Center for their excellent care.

Jett Junior Barnes, 65, a retired automotive paint and body specialist, of Tallahassee died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in Tallahassee.

Born in Jackson County, he moved to Tallahassee in 1970. After his retirement from the paint and body business he devoted his time to help his son with his towing business (Parkway Wrecker Services, Inc.) and enjoyed every minute of it. He was also an avid drag car racer who enjoyed it very much. He was well-liked and respected by all who knew him and he was known as a kindhearted person who was always willing to help others.

He was preceded in death by: His father, Jett Barnes; mother, Nellie Barnes; a brother, Charles Barnes, and a step-son, Sonny Branch. Junior will be sadly missed by his friends and family including: His wife, Alma Barnes of Tallahassee; his son, Frankie Barnes of Tallahassee; two daughters, Linda Corley of Tallahassee, and Cindy Meacham of Tallahassee; two step-sons, Andy Branch Sr. of Tallahassee, and Ernie Branch of Crawfordville; three stepdaughters, Rita Asbel of Quincy, Jinny Sanders of Tallahassee, and Johnna Caldwell of Alabama; three brothers, Sam Barnes of Largo, James Barnes of Cottondale, and Bud Barnes of Cottondale; six sisters, Katie Sullivan, Thelma Russle, Emma Barnes, and Helen Barnes, all of Cottondale, Betty Clark of Monticello, and Elouise Potter of Largo; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, at 12:30 p.m. EST at Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Parkway Chapel in Tallahassee. Burial will be at White Church Cemetery in Woodville.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. EST Friday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, Inc., 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.

Tom Hall, 43, of Altha died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at his residence.

He was a very giving and helpful man who enjoyed hunting and could often be seen driving in mud bogs. A lifetime resident of Altha and an employed at the Altha Farmer's Co-op, Tom was a hard worker and loved his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Polan Hall in 1996, and his grandfather, Coy Willis.

He is survived by: His mother, Bernice Baxter and her husband Ernest of Altha; two sons, Eddie Hall and his wife Amanda of Bristol, and Joseph Hall of Altha; his grandmother, Lessie Willis of Marianna; one sister, Jeannie Nicks of Sneads; three grandchildren, Bradley Hall, Courtney Hall and Kelsey Hall, all of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Altha Community Center with the Rev. Dewayne Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Altha with Hall Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Hall Funeral Home in Altha.

Eddie Lee Britt died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in Union County.

He was born Aug. 13, 1953 to Emmit and Eula Mae Britt. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Paul High School in Campbellton. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served eight years. He later attended Chipola Junior College and received his Associate of Arts degree in social work. He joined New Bethel C.M.E. Church at an early age and later joined Bethlehem AME Church. In 1973, he married Betty Spears of Cottondale and to this union two children were born, Cornel and Ebony. In 1998, he was blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Jasmine with Tammy Saulsberry of Pensacola.

In addition to his parents and children, he leaves two special great-aunts, Blanche McKinney and Willie Barkley of Graceville; a special friend, Bernice Mims of Pensacola; and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. in the Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel in Graceville with the Rev. Nepolean Pittman officiating. Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville is in charge of the arrangements.
