Joe Hollis Toole, age 61, of Chipley, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Chipley and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He was a retired correctional officer from the Division of Corrections for the State of Florida. The funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. in Salem Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Hussey officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Freewill Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends today, Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wachob Chapel. Survivors are his mother, Estel Toole of Chipley; wife, Annie Merle Toole of Chipley; daughter, Penny Ann Aycock of Chipley; brother, Bobby Toole of Cottondale; and grandchild, Hunter Aycock of Chipley.

ROBERT H. WHIGUM
Mr. Robert H. Whigum, 89, of Port St. Joe, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000 in Gulf Pines Hospital. He was a longtime resident of Port St. Joe and was retired from St. Joe Lumber and Export Company. He was of the Missionary Baptist faith and was retired from St. Joseph's Catholic Church as a custodian. Survivors include one daughter, Mary F. Brown and her husband King of Palmetto, Fla; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlie Mae King and Iris Bolden, both of Port St. Joe; and one brother, the Rev. Henry Whigum Jr. of Bagdad. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. EST today at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Luther Baker. Interment will follow in the family plot in Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Fla. He will lie in state at the church from 9 until 11 a.m. today, Jan. 8.

THELMA N. DROGOWSKI
Mrs. Thelma N. Drogowski, of 320 George C. Wallace Blvd., Panama City Beach, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 in a local hospital. Mrs. Drogowski had been a resident of the area since 1979 coming here from Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a homemaker and was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Drogowski is survived by her husband, Henry A. Drogowski of Panama City Beach; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Sandria Turner of LaPlata, Md., and Mrs Andria Corby of Waldorf, Md.; four grandcildren: Tommy, Derek, Brent, and Jason; a sister, Mrs. Verie Mae Snider of Troy, Ala., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000 at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Gallagher officiating. Entombment will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000.

FLORENCE DODD GREEN
Mrs. Florence Dodd Green, 79, of 204 S. Kimbrel Ave., Panama City, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1979, coming here from Jasper, Ala. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Parker. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, McKinley "Mack" Green of Panama City; a daughter, Patrice E. Wood and husband Michael of Perrysburg, Ohio; a son, Michael R. Green and wife Sabrina of Decatur, Ala.; a sister, Grace Smith and husband John of Albany, Ga., and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Hartzog officiating. A graveside service and interment will follow at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 9, 2000.

Ms. Marylou R. Hurst, 71, of 322 Burkett Drive, Panama City, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1998, coming here from Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Ms. Hurst was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She attended Panama City Korean Church. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Davis and husband Roger, and Darrolyn Robison and husband John, all of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; sons: Richard Hurst of Springville, Tenn., Randy Hurst and wife Myong of Callaway, and Oral Mason Hurst, II and his wife Julie of Fort Lauderdale; her former husband of 30 years, Oral Mason Hurst of Fort Lauderdale; sisters, Nancy Allen and husband Glenn of Gallatin, Tenn., and Betty Hooven and husband Ed of Port St. Lucie; and brothers: Gene Baker and wife Jo of Paris, Tenn., Bud Baker and wife Chris of Chugika, Alaska, Allie Baker and wife Judy of Cedarville, Mich.; 9 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Adelaide Baker; and a daughter, Lynne Morgan. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Young E. Song officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from one hour prior to the service.

DAPHINE MARIE NELSON
Daphine Marie Nelson, 88, of Panama City, died Jan. 7, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a member of the Palo Alto Church of Christ. She is survived by a brother, Oren Hargrove and his wife Geneva of Paducah, Ky.; sister-in-law, Helen Hargrove of Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services will be held in Poplar Bluff, Mo., with the Cotrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

JACKIE J. TAYLOR
Mr. Jackie J. Taylor, 64, of Panama City, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 at his home. Born in Nashville, Ga., he moved here in 1939 from Georgia. He retired after 33 years of service with Stone Container as a crew leader. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and loved fishing and was a very dedicated Florida Gator fan. Taylor is preceded in death by his wife, Margarete Taylor. He is survived by one daughter, Ursula Pybus and her husband James of Panama City; one brother, John C. Taylor of Circleville, Ohio; two sisters, Fannie Bell Fretwell and husband Eddie of Palatka, Mary Lois Maultsby and husband Tommy of Panama City; one very close nephew Charles "Bubba" Taylor; two special nieces, Billy Joyce Johnson and Karen Corley; and many other nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Tammy Casey and husband Scott, Cindy Griffin and husband Matthew, all of Panama City; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at 4 p.m. in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Michael McCann officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bay Medical Hospice or the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Taylor.

QUAY J. WATSON
Mr. Quay J. Watson, 71 of Panama City died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000 at his home. Mr. Watson was a retired Sgt. Maj. in the U.S. Army with 26 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Mooney Watson; a grandson Donnie Quay Rawlinson; his parents Jesse B. and Hallie Cauthen Watson Sr.; and a brother Jesse B. Watson Jr. Mr. Watson is survived by one son Bill Rawlinson and wife Barbara of Fort Mitchell, Ala.; two brothers, Duane C. Watson of Sheyboygan Wis., William Kent Watson and wife Barbara of Camden, S.C.; a special friend, Audrey Vincent of Panama City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home in Phoenix City, Ala. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000 at 2 p.m. EST at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phoenix City, Ala. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Long of Phoenix City, Ala., and Ashley Pallock of Valley, Ala., also serving are the Widowed Persons Services of Panama City. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers family may make contributions in memory of Quay Watson to Hospice of Northwest Florida, Widowed Persons Services of Panama City or the Bay County Council on Aging.

Mrs. Beryl M. Caler, 77, of 4240 Harbor Villa at Bay Point in Panama City Beach, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000. Mrs. Caler had been a resident of the area since May 1994, coming here from Pittsburgh, Pa. She was Catholic by faith. Mrs. Caler is survived by her husband, Ralph J. Caler of Bay Point; a daughter, Mary Lou Hodson and husband Tom of Panama City Beach; sons, Jim Caler and wife Jean of Panama City Beach and Bob Caler and wife Clara of Pittsburgh; grandchildren: Monica Wilkinson and husband John, Justin Caler, Adam Caler and Gina Hodson; a brother, Russell Greer of Riverside, Calif.; and a special friend, Pat Nelson of Panama City. She is preceded in death by her grandson Mark Caler. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Chapel with the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11.
