Funeral services for Lt. Col. John M. Galbraith Jr. (U.S. Army Ret.), 82, of 128 Linda Ave., Panama City, Fla., who passed away on Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at a local hospital will be held at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel today, Feb. 4, 2000, with the Rev. Bruce Raley of First Baptist Church officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow on Monday in High Springs, Fla., at the High Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the Hutchison-Poplawski Chapter of American Ex-Prisoners of War, 4917 Hensey Ave., Panama City, FL 32404.

Mr. Jorge Vinicid Madrid, 40, of Mexico Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, in a local hospital. He was born in Guatemala and was a plumber by trade. He worked with P & T Plumbing. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. EST in the Gilmore-Southerland Funeral Home Chapel.

ANNIE P. JONES
Mrs. Annie P. Jones, 71, of 156 Harlem Ave., died Jan. 28, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a native of Seminole County, Ga. She lived in Panama City until 1945. She moved to Sarasota and worked 30 years for the Ringling Museum of Art. After her health failed, she returned to Panama City in 1995. She was a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Sarasota and served as a musician for the adult choir. She is survived by four sisters: Mary Bass (Roscoe) of Sarasota, Irene Dixon of Panama City, Millie Craddock (David) of Klamath Fall, Ore., and Nora Dean Jones of Bainbridge, Ga.; brother, Johnny Jackson (Beatrice) of Houston, Texas; four aunts: Rosie Williams and Lillie Hanford, both of Bainbridge, Ga., Evelyn Jackson and Irene Jones (Linto), both of Belle Glade, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Jones will be held Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. in the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Sarasota, Fla., with the Rev. Dr. A. L. Phillips Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in the Palm Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Sarasota, Fla. The family will receive relatives and friends locally at 156 Harlem Ave.

Funeral services for Lt. Col. Clarence Monroe Smith Jr. (Ret.), 83, of Panama City, Fla., who died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, in a local hospital, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Old Cedar Baptist Church, Monterey, Ky. Interment will follow in the Monterey Masonic Cemetery with full military honors conducted at graveside. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services. Lt. Col. Smith is survived by his daughter, Melodye Smith Prows and her husband, Sherwin of Panama City, Fla. Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, 312 Washington St., Frankfort, KY 40601 will be in charge of the services. EDNA L. LEDMAN
Mrs. Edna L. Ledman, 87, of Panama City, Fla., died Feb. 1, 2000, in Glen Cove Nursing Pavilion. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1978, moving here from Phoenix, Ariz. She was born on Dec. 15, 1912, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lived until 1952, when she and her family moved to Phoenix. Edna was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur E. Ledman and her daughters: Janet Ledman, Lois Ledman and Helen Kaiser. She is survived by her son, Wilbur (Bill) T. Ledman and his wife Melanie A. of Panama City Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren: Cheryl L. Meyers and her husband David of Panama City, Fla., Thomas W. Ledman and his wife Sealy of Panama City, Fla., Connie Ledman-Pyle and her husband Kirk of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Randy A. Ledman and his wife Julie of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren. Edna was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to either the Alzheimer Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated. Their addresses are: Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders, P.O. MAYZA HALL PENEWITT
Mayza Hall Penewitt, 95, of Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1988 moving here from Springfield, Ill. She was a lifelong member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She is survived by a son, Paul Penewitt and his wife, Shirley; grandson, Paul Penewitt Jr. and his wife, Teresa; granddaughter, Cathy Penewitt all of Panama City, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren: Steven Penewitt, Julie Penewitt and Alan Penewitt. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Newton officiating. Those desiring to may make a contribution to your favorite charity or the Salvation Army in memory of Mayza Penewitt.

EDNA LOUISE SAULS
Mrs. Edna Louise Sauls, 66, of Youngstown, Fla., died Wednesday morning, Feb. 2, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Holmes County, she moved here in 1942 and was a homemaker and a member of The House of Prayer. Mrs. Sauls was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marvin W. Sauls and her mother, Mozell Churchwell. She is survived by two sons, Marvin Wendell Sauls and wife Melissa of Panama City, Fla., and David Leonard Sauls of Springfield, Fla.; three daughters: Mavis Nowell and husband Bobby of Bayou George, Fla., Edna Jane Morris of Vernon, Fla., and Gaynell Crockrell and husband Chris Goodwin of Springfield, Fla.; two brothers, Horace Slay and wife Irene of Panama City, Fla., and Douglas Slay and wife Sylvia of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sisters, Nancy Ward and husband Roscoe of Bay County, Fla., and Johnnie Grainger and husband Dwight of Valley, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Sauls will be held today, Feb. 4, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buford Carter and the Rev Lewis Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Victor Whitehead, Gus Butchikas, Greg Grainger, John Ward, Tommy Fidler and Kenneth Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Lowe, Buford Nowell, Fealice Strickland and Tommy Boswell.

RUTH ARLENE STOLL
Ms. Ruth Arlene Stoll, 63, of 2100 Jenks Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at her residence. She had been a resident of the area since February 1999, coming here from New Port Richey. Ms. Stoll was a CNA for the Helping Hands Home Healthcare in Clearwater, Fla. She was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Dunedin. Ms. Stoll is survived by a daughter: Suzanne Bennett and her husband Mark of Panama City Beach, Fla.; sons: Ronald A. Stoll and his wife Teresa of Eustis, Fla., and William Stoll of Spring Hill, Fla.; a stepbrother: Larry Isenbarger and his wife Nancy of Medina, Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A private memorial service was held at the home of Mark and Suzanne Bennett.

HERBERT B. BAGGETT
Mr. Herbert B. Baggett Sr., 68, of 4519 Vista Lane, Lynn Haven, Fla., died Thursday evening, Feb. 3, 2000 after a brief illness. Born in Cairo, Ga., he moved here in 1971 and was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was also a graduate of Purdue University. Mr. Baggett is survived by his wife, Barbara Baggett of Lynn Haven; two sons, Herb Baggett Jr. and wife Janet of Fort Walton Beach and Robert W. Baggett and wife Ronda of Panama City Beach; one stepson, David Mims and wife Debbie of Tallahassee; one brother, Allen Baggett of Cairo, Ga.; five grandchidlren: Heather Mims, Christi Mims, Patrick Baggett, Katherine Bagett and Hannah Chastain Baggett. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Graveside services will follow on Monday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. EST in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Ga. Full military honors will be accorded at graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
