BETTY JANE KEYES
Mrs. Betty Jane Keyes, 82, previously of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, April 3, 2000, in Zanesville, Ohio. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was the retired owner and operator of Betty's Beauty Shop in Zanesville. She was a member of Central Trinity Methodist Church in Zanesville. While living in Panama City, Mrs. Keyes was very active in the retirement community and lived at St. Andrews Towers for eight years. Mrs. Keyes is preceded in death by her mother and father, Harold Heim and Grace Factor; two husbands, Richard C. Warner and Clarence "Bud" Keyes. She is survived by one son, Robert Keyes and wife Helen of Bradenton, Fla.; one daughter, Carol Maddox of Zanesville, Ohio; one sister, Ruth Martin of Destin; aunt, Hilda Factor of Zanesville; numerous cousins; three grandchildren: Christine Lungerich and husband David of Texas, Donald Maddox and wife Miji of Texas, Molly Andrews and husband Thad of Zanesville; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Keyes will be conducted on Saturday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Louie Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Saturday before the services.

RICHARD SHERMAN BROOKINS SR.
Mr. Richard Sherman Brookins Sr., age 66, of 1603 W. 11th St., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at home. He returned to Panama City in 1968 after a 20 year career in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Boatswain's Mate First Class. Mr. Brookins was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by a son, Richard S. Brookins, Jr. of Panama City; a daughter, Susan Safdari-Sadaloo and her husband Javad of Panama City Beach; grandchildren: Richard S. Brookins III and his wife Michelle and Duane Lee Brookins, all of Tallahassee, Atta Safdari-Sadaloo, Somayee Safdari-Sadaloo, Alia Safdari-Sadaloo, and Sara Safdari-Sadaloo, all of Panama City Beach; a sister, Ethel Kressley of West Bay; four nephews; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia C. Brookins and four sisters: Doris, Mary Frances, Effie, and Anne Muriel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 8, at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Marty Bratek officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Full military Honors. Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, April l7, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society, 472 Oak Ave., Panama City, Fla. 32401. The family will be staying at 114 Sandalwood Lane, Panama City Beach, Fla., Summerwood Subdivision, and will be receiving family and friends after the service.

WENDALL 'ALLAN' BARFIELD
Mr. Wendall "Allan" Barfield, 36, of 14233 Mastro Lane, Southport, Fla., died Friday, April 7, 2000, at his sister's home in Southport. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a truss-maker for Fagans Truss Company for six years before his retirement due to an accident. He was also a member of Sand Hills Community Church. Mr. Barfield is survived by his wife, Toni Barfield of the Sand Hills; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Woodrow Barfield of East Point; one son, Christopher "Chris" Kirton of Sand Hills; one daughter, LeAnn Kirton of Sand Hills; one brother, Michael Barfield of East Point; two sisters, Darlene Shivers of St. George Island, Fla., Anna Waltman of Southport; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 11, at 1 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Moon, the Rev. Nixon Miller and the Rev. Chris Kirton officiating. Interment will follow in Old Southport Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

BERNADETTE CEASAR
Ms. Bernadette Ceasar, 40, of 1206 Transmitter Road, died Thursday, March 30, in Gulf Coast Medical Center. Funeral services for Ms. Ceasar will be held today, April 8, at 11 a.m. in Neal's Temple First Born Church of the Living God with Bishop S.J. Williams, pastor, and Elder Bradford Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of her parents, Mack and Estelle Ceasar of 104 Henderson Ave.

JOHN FRANKLIN HALL
Mr. John Franklin Hall, age 29, of 5 Joseph Circlee, Southport, Fla., died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at a local hospital. He hae been a lifetime resident of the area. Mr. Hall was of the Protestant faith and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hall liked to ride in the woods in his Jeep, even if it meant getting stuck. He loved hunting and fishing and FSU football. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Tammy Hall of Southport; a daughter, Cassidy Hall of Southport; a son, Donovan Hall of Southport; his parents, Diane and Jesse Adair of Youngstown and James and Gloria Hall of Southport; sisters, Cleland Canfield of Chipley and Grace Hall of Southport; brothers: James Hall of Springfield, Jamie Hall of Oregon, Jeremy Hall and Matthew Hall, both of Southport; father and mother-in-law, Bennie and Johnnie Newton of Springfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today, April 8, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow. Asked to serve as pallbearers are: Greg Creel, Lee Etheridge, Joe Hall, Bill Mixon, Gary Newton and Jonathan Mixon. The family will be staying at the home of Bennie and Johnnie Newton, 806 Forest Dale Ave., Springfield, Fla.

PRENTICE MOODY HAYNES
Prentice Moody Haynes, 84, born in Emerson, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2000. He had been a resident of Panama City, Fla., since 1997. Prior to his moving to Panama City, he lived in New Orleans, La., where he resided with his wife for 56 years. Mr. Haynes is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor Elizabeth, and daughter, Elizabeth M. Felton. He is survived by daughter, Sylvia Maceluch of Panama City and son Larry Bentley and wife Dolores of Fort Walton Beach; two brothers, Lawrence Haynes of Shreveport, La., Franklin Haynes of Emerson, Ark.; two sisters, Gracie Barker of Shangaloo, La., and Laurine Walters of Jackson, Miss.; eight grandchildren: John Jr. II, Keith and Paula Maceluch, Doug Felton, Susan Didier, Robyn Poston, Rhonda Pannocchia, Russell Bentley; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held today at 3 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. R.C. Warren officiating. Those desiring to may make a donation to American Diabetes. Association or the St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., in memory of Mr. Prentice Haynes.

Deborah Ann Johns, 43, of Fountain, died Tuesday April 4, 2000 in a car accident. She was a shift supervisor for a restaurant. She had been a resident of this area for 20 years, moving here from New Orleans. She is preceded in death by her parents, Macie Moore Dixon and Aaron Lewis Dixon Sr.; brother, Aaron Lewis Dixon Jr.; sister, Carla Jo Dixon; and nephew, Christopher Michael Dixon. She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Johns of Fountain; five children: Joseph Jason Enfinger of Panama City, Jennifer Lynn Enfinger of Fountain, Kimberly Beth Hutto of Fountain, Michael Ashley Johns of Panama City, and Joshua Mercer Johns of Port St. Joe; one grandchild, Damien Trevor Brown of Youngstown; brother, Gary Michael Dixon of Bolton, N.C.; two sisters, Sandra (Sandy) Jones of Panama City, Pamela Dixon Tart of Dunn, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Carden officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tim Brock, Rick Brush, Al Carr, Carey Scott, Avery Tarleton and David Walsingham.

Mr. Frank King, 89, of Millville, Fla., died Friday, April 7, 2000 in a local nursing home. He was a lifelong resident of Millville and was a landscaper. He was also a member of Springfield Community Church. Mr. King is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Rillie Beatrice King. He is survived by one son, Clyde King and wife Rosemary of Castleberry, Fla.; three daughters: Marilyn Whelton and husband Roger of Panama City, Lois Miller of Port St. Joe Beach, Ruth Vincent of Panama City; 113 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. King will be conducted on Monday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. in Springfield Community Church. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Victor Whitehead, Colby Whitehead, Kyle Whitehead, Kenneth Stewart, Nathan Frost and R.T. Young. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
