SHARRON DIANNE STINSON
Mrs. Sharron Dianne Stinson, 53, of 338 Spikes Road, Southport, Fla., died Saturday evening, April 8, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Chipley, Fla., she was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a secretary and an active member of Central Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Stinson is preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn Hall. She is survived by her husband, Gary Stinson of Sand Hills Community; one son, Chris Stinson and wife Lynn of Fort Campbell, Ky.; one daughter, Casandra Fowler and husband Ronnie of Callaway; two brothers, Buddy Hall and wife Gloria of Sand Hills community, Joe Hall and wife Mae of Lynn Haven; two sisters, Connie Carpenter and husband Ronnie of Chipley, Theresa Fountain and husband James of Callaway; five grandchildren: Amanda Stinson, Ryan Stinson, Cara Stinson, Thatcher Fowler and Thomas Stinson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m. in Central Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola at 1:15 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.

CURTIS EDWARD STOKES
Mr. Curtis Edward Stokes, age 82, of Blountstown, died Sunday evening in Calhoun Liberty Hospital in Blountstown. Mr. Stokes was native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a stevedore. He was a veteran of World War II serving the U.S. Army as a medic in the 82nd Airborne. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Stokes of Blountstown; one son, Paul Stokes of Blountstown; three daughters: Janice Sumner of Hosford, Blonza Layfield of Panama City, Debbie Kolmetz of Ponce DeLeon; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown. Interment will follow in Bogg Cemetery in Blountstown. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 11 at Adams Funeral Home.

ERNEST W. JONES
Ernest W. Jones, Lt. Col., (Retired), U.S.M.C.R., 83, of Panama City Beach died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at his home. Born in New Orleans, La., he was a longtime resident of Panama City Beach. He was a member of St. Thomas By-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Laguna Beach, a graduate of Tulane University and was commissioned in the United States Marine Corp. in 1939. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Nell of Panama City Beach; three sons: Charley Jones and wife Marsha of Houston, Texas, Brian Jones and wife Sandy of Yorktown, Va., Michael Jones and wife Denise of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren: Chuck, Kelly, Nicki, Katie and Diana; one great-grandchild, Guinevere, also many nieces and nephews. Fuenral services will be conducted on Friday, April 14, at 2 p.m. in St. Andrews By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, First Ave and Wisteria Lane, Laguna Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrews By-the Sea Episcopal Church in memory of Mr. Jones.

CATHERINE HERNDON LASSETER
Funeral services for Catherine Herndon Lasseter, of 830 Florida Ave., Panama City, who died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in her home, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Wendell Owenby officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the medical association of your choice in memory of Catherine Lasseter.

MICHAEL ANDREW QUATTLEBAUM
Mr. Michael Andrew Quattlebaum, 17, of Tallahassee, Fla., died April 9, 2000, in Tallahassee. Michael was due to graduate from high school in Tallahassee and he had been accepted into the U.S. Marine Corps which had been a longtime goal of Michael's. Michael's family rejoices in the fact that he recently accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. Michael was the beloved son of Gene Quattlebaum and Elizabeth McAuley of Tallahassee; brothers, Donnie Quattlebaum and Ken Brannon both of Panama City; sisters, Kathleen Johnson and Christen Quattlebaum both of Panama City; maternal grandparents, Thomas McAuley of Valley, Ala., and Martha McAuley of Panama City. A memorial service will be held today, April 12, at 3 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel.

TONY REED SR.
Mr. Tony Reed St., age 48, of Blountstown, died Monday at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee. Mr. Reed was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and had lived in Blountstown for the past three years after moving from Sneads. He was a retired Wildlife Officer and a member of Salem Wesleyan Church in Sneads. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Air Force. He was a member of American Legion and the Freaternal Order of Police. Survivors include his wife, Sally Reed of Blountstown; three sons: Tony Reed Jr. and his wife Jerris of Sneads, Jay Reed of Blountstown, Colby Reed of Snead; three daughters: Nicki Reed and Abby Reed of Sneads, Kelsey Reed of Blountstown; one brother, Chris Reed of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Taylor and Caleb Reed of Sneads. Funeral services will be held today, April 12, at 3:30 p.m. from First Baptist Church in Sneads with the Rev. Sam Swinney officiating. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery in Sneads. Visitation was held Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Frank Wilson, age 74, of 706 W. 8th St. Cir., Lynn Haven, Fla., who died Saturday, April 8, 2000, will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Donald MacLeod officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. JOHN NATHAN BROWN
The Rev. John Nathan Brown, 84, of 1143 Harris Ave., went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 7, 2000, at Bay Medical Center. He was born on March 22, 1916, in Monteoccha, Fla., to the late Rev. Esias and Ruth Brown. He later moved to Gainesville, Fla., where he was reared and educated and became a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church. He moved to Panama City, Fla., where he was joined in holy matrimony on May 8, 1949, to Della Sallet. He was the father of seven children. He was employed by the city of Panama City and retired after 30 years. He became a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. R.B. Ivey. He was ordained as a deacon and served in many capacities there, as well as in the community. He was called into ministry in 1984. The Rev. Brown became a member of Gospel Temple Freewill Baptist Church, located in Panama City, in 1984 under the pastorage of the late Rev. V.V. Barker Sr. He became assistant pastor and later pastor in 1985 where he served faithfully and diligently until he retired in 1994 due to the declining of his health. While a member of Gospel Temple Church, he served as chairman of Board of the West Florida Annual Conference; officer of D.L. Bright Inst.; member of the Sunday School Convention, District Union and a faithful participant of Free Will Baptist Organization mid-year and General Conferences. He was active in the NAACP; Empire Bethel Lodge No. 202, True Light No. 112, Eastern Star; Knights of Pythias; Lily White No. 155 and was a 33rd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Brown Jr.; three brothers: Orion, Legacy and Arthur Brown; three sisters: Ruby B. Jones, Henrietta B. Williams and Cerethea B. Leath. He leaves to celebrate his home going; a loving, devoted and caring wife of fifty years, Della Brown; six children: Margret Myles, Melissa Gould both of Gainesville, Patricia Brown, Timothy (Pearl) Brown Sr., Tony Leon Brown of Panama City and Sharron (Dennis) Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; a loving and loyal sister, Lucille Perkins of Gainesville; two sisters-in-law, Amy (Alvin) Baker of Gainesville, and Mary (Samuel) May of Tampa; two brothers-in-law, Willie (Lillian) Sallet, Harry (Beronia) Salley, both of Gainesville; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A special tribute to a loving and dedicated granddaughter, Zelda (Freddie) Parrish. Funeral services for the Rev. Brown will be held Friday, April 14, at 2 p.m. in Free Spirit Community Church, 3706 E. 11th St., where the Rev. James Kelly, pastor with the Rev. Charles Bethea, officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. A wake service will be held at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at their residence of 1143 Harris Ave.

VIVIAN N. CORDELL
Mrs. Vivian N. Cordell, age 77, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area for 10 years, coming here from Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Cordell was a member of Central Assembly of God Church since 1993. She is survived by her husband, James F. Cordell of Panama City; a daughter, Nancy E. Cordell of Panama City; two brothers, Herman McLeod of Winter Haven, Fla., and Hayward McLeod and his wife Mary of Winter Haven; and a sister-in-law, Carrie McNeal of Dothan, Ala. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 14, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Sam Holt, James Barr, Sam Pinckard, T. A. Greene, Marvin Benton, and Mike McFatter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or if you prefer, you may make donations to the Central Assembly of God Church Building Fund in her name.
