JOHN LESTER HAHN
Mr. John Lester Hahn, 74, of Panama City Beach, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Born in Hillsboro, Ohio, he moved to Panama City Beach in 1973 following retirement from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. Mr. Hahn retired with a rank of major and was a command pilot having served in both World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita "Nita" Wheeler Hahn; three sons: Less Hahn and wife Nancy of Panama City Beach, Rohn Hahn and wife Patty of Spokane, Wash., and Randy Hahn and wife Linda of Spokane, Wash.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Southerland Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, at which he will receive full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 9, 2000, from 5 to 7 p.m.

BETTY RUTH HOLMES
Funeral services for Betty Ruth Holmes, 67, of Southport, who died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in a local nursing home, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Baldwin Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Roger Morris, 1605 Belmont Blvd. Active pallbearers are Greg Boggs, Wilburn Brannon, Roy Brahier, Jim Scott, and Jimmy Cox.

LOUISE HUNT MOSLEY
Funeral Services for Mrs. Louise Hunt Mosley, 82, of Callaway, who died Thursday, May 4, 2000, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Springfield Community Church with the Rev. J.W. Hunt and the Rev. Fred Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springfield Community Church Building Fund, 1200 J.W. Hunt Blvd., in Springfield.

CHARLES H. 'SQUIRE' WILLIAMS
Col. Charles H. "Squire" Williams, died peacefully on Friday May 5, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; and two sons, Michael of Wedowee, Ala., and Steven of Springfield, Va. He was born Feb. 22, 1920, in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from college, he was appointed as an aviation cadet and received his pilot's wings and second lieutenant commission on May 21, 1942. He and Beverly were married the same day prior to departing for his first duty station. Col. Williams flew 65 combat missions while serving in Europe with the 17th Bomb Group. While serving later in Japan and Korea as Commander 9th Fighter Squadron, he flew 123 jet fighter missions against North Korea. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and accepted a position in the U.S. Civil Service with the FAA in Washington, D.C. He retired from government service in 1972 and settled in Panama City. He was active in retiree activities at Tyndall Air Force Base, the local Air Force Association and served several terms as flight captain of the local 89th (Pelican) Flight, Order of Daedalians. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday May 8, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Tyndall Chapel No. 2 with Air Force Chaplain Dan Nigolian officiating. Full military honors will be accorded. Donations in his memory may be made to the Awards Program, 89th Flight, P.O. Box 40096, Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. 32403.

LEONARD RAY SR.
Mr. Leonard Ray Sr., of Port St. Joe, died Thursday May 4, 2000, at Gulf Pines Hospital. Mr. Ray is survived by his wife Freedonia Ray. Funeral services for Mr. Ray will be conducted Monday May 8, 2000, at 1 p.m. in Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive at the church from 11 a.m. until the service on Monday.

SHEILA HUDNALL
Mrs. Sheila Hudnall, 60, of 122 Marin Dr., in Panama City, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of Bay County for 17 years after coming here from Jacksonville, where she also lived for 13 years. She was employed by Jacksonville University Hospital, Orange Park Hospital and Gulf Coast Hospital. She retired as a registered nurse with Bay Medical Center where she worked for 17 years. She also enjoyed gardening and dancing. She was a member of the St. Dominics Catholic Church. Mrs. Hudnall is survived by her husband, Fred E. Hudnall Jr., of Panama City; two daughters, Kathryn Rook and husband Wayne of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Patricia Wilder and husband Mark of Pensacola, Fla.; grandson Joshua Rook and granddaughter Kristina Rook, both of Cocoa Beach; seven sisters, Marie Moscatel and husband Tony of Arlington, Mass., Nora Broughton of Waltham, Mass., Catherine Gear and husband Jack of Quincy, Mass., Eileen Pasquarello and husband Teddy of Sudbury, Mass., Wilma Trioli and husband Sal of Malden, Mass., Anna Dugan and husband Dick of Woburn, Mass., and Patty Fuligni and husband Augie of Stoneham, Mass.; a brother, Joe Broughton of Waltham, Mass. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with Father Pete Zalewski officiating. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Tony Diotalevi, James Griffin, Tony Loconto, Joseph Ganakos, Tony DiBella and Fred Engle. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000, with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

DOROTHY ELIZABETH KOVALESKI
Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Kovaleski, 83, of Panama City, passed away Friday, May 5, 2000, in Boise, Idaho. Mrs. Kovaleski was a resident of Panama City during the 1940s and 1950s. She and her husband moved to Boise in the 1960s but returned to Panama City in 1969. For several years she had lived with her son in San Diego, Calif., and in Boise. Mrs. Kovaleski is survived by a daughter, Joann Kosharek of Newberry Springs, Calif.; a son, Victor Kovaleski of Boise; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; a sister, Beulah Campbell of Beauford, S.C.; and three brothers, Edwin Butler, Charles Bulter and Carl Butler, all of Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Kovaleski was preceded in death by her husband, seven of her brothers and sisters, and a grandson. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Scalf officiating, with interment following. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 10, 2000.

LEONARD RAY

THOMAS EDWARD RYAN
Mr. Thomas Edward Ryan, 81, of Panama City Beach, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2000, at a local hospital. Mr. Ryan had been a resident of Bay County for 22 years after coming here from Chicago, Ill. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 10555 of Inlet Beach. He was also retired police officer in the Chicago Police Department. Mr. Ryan is survived by a daughter, Darlene Ryan of Panama City Beach; two sons, David Ryan of Inlet Beach and Thomas R. Ryan of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren, Eric Ryan, Kyle Ryan and Alan Ryan; three sisters, Peggy Nevins of Oaklawn, Ill., Pat Gleason of Chicago, Ill., and Mary Kirkwood of Oaklawn, Ill. Funeral services and burial will be held at a later date in Chicago, Ill. The family will receive friends at the Kent- Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000.

JOSEPH CREA
U.S. Air Force Ret. Msgt. Joseph Crea, age 83, of 621 Arrow St., Parker, Fla., passed away Saturday, May 6, 2000, in a local hsopital. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1964, coming here from Smyrna, Tenn. Mr. Crea served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force for 30 years during World War II and was a survivor of Bataan Death March, and was a POW. He enjoyed stamp collecting and coin collecting, was a member of Masonic Lodge of Parker and was a member of Parker United Methodist Church. Mr. Crea is survived by two sons, Joseph W. Crea of Parker, and John Thomas Crea III and wife Mary Elizabeth of Callaway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Parker Crea. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, at Parker Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Daniels officiating. Interment will follow with military honors conducted by Tyndall AFB and Masonic Rites conducted by Parker Lodge. Parker Lodge will be open an hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
