Ranelda W. Tilmon, 36
Ranelda W. Tilmon, 36, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA, after an extended illness. She attended school in many places, including Collins Elementary. She continued her port of education with three degrees from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA.
She is survived by her mother, father, two children, three brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Bethel AME in Collins, GA. Burial followed in the Jackson cemetery in Collins, GA.

Karen Tene Boles, 50
First Lady Karen Tene Boles, the last child of the late Mr. William (Gene) Cole Taylor Sr. and Miss Mary Louise Jackson, was born September 7, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. She was an intelligent, remarkable and talented young woman full of faith for God.
She completed her early education in Texas and is a product of the Dallas Independent School District. Later, she attended El Centro College and St. Leo University, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. She was currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Business. She was the First Lady of the First African Baptist Church in Glennville, GA. She was employed with the Chatham County District Attorney’s office for the past 14 years. Karen was joined in Holy Matrimony to the absolute love of her life, the Reverend Clarence Edward Boles Jr. on February 23, 1980. To this union were added four loving children.
“God’s tomorrow is a day of greeting: we shall see the Savior’s face. And our longing hearts await the meeting in that holy happy place....” Early Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009, God called her home to be with him at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by two siblings: Beverly Louise Taylor and Kenneth Cole Taylor, both of Dallas, Texas.
Karen leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 29 years the Rev. Clarence E. Boles Jr. of Pembroke, GA; four children, Brannon Taylor (Sarah), Malissa Boles Mackay (Eric), Jessica Boles and Jonathan Boles; a loving mother, Mary Louise Tyler; brother, William Cole Taylor Jr. (Marilyn); one grandchild, Donovan Taylor; nieces, BriOnna Taylor and April Day; nephews, Kenneth C.Taylor Jr. and Renalden Taylor; as well as many other cousins, aunts, uncles, a host of friends and countless brothers and sisters in Christ.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 23, 2009, at the First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Abundant Life Church of God in Christ, with burial in the Laura Land cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Golden Gate Funeral home, 4155 S.R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX.

Linda Elaine Medlin Emanuel, 57
Linda Elaine Medlin Emanuel, age 57, of Daisy, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009, at her residence. A native of Evans County, Elaine lived most of her life in Daisy. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandson whom she adored dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Skinner and her parents, Lee and Helen Medlin.
She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Deal of Daisy; three sons, Junior Lee (Brandy) Emanuel of Batesville, AR, Jesse Emanuel of Claxton, Curtis Skinner (Amber Hall) of Daisy; one sister, Carolyn Hutto of Daisy; three brothers, Robert Medlin of Jenkins County, Wayne Medlin of Reidsville and Jimmy Medlin of Statesboro; four grandchildren, River White, Lucky Emanuel, Emily Skinner and Brian Christopher Deal Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 25, 2009, from the Glennville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with Reverend Andrew Nelms and Reverend Daryl Harn officiating. Interment followed at The Anderson Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Deal, Jimmy Medlin, J.R. Emanuel, Jeremy DeLoach, Jackie DeLoach and Heath Strickland.

Anne Dasher Norburg, 77
Anne Dasher Norburg, 77, died Wednesday, November 18, 2099, at Effingham County Extended Care. The Tattnall County native had lived in Savannah most of her life and was employed with Atlanta Gas Company and Savannah Sugar Refinery, retiring after many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Norburg; parents, Marcus L. and Mattie Jones Dasher; brothers, Vernon Dasher, Remer Dasher, and Thurman Dasher; sisters, Katie D. Rushing and Fannie D. Holland.
She is survived by a sister, Dean D. King of Moultrie and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 21, 2009, from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, with Dr. Darren Thomas officiating. Burial followed in Battle Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brett Holland, Edwin Purcell, Mark Dasher, Vernon Dasher Jr., Brad Dasher and Andrew Benton.

Claude M. Ray, 98
Claude M. Ray, 98, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville most of his life. He was a farmer and a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mittie Mae Ray and a daughter, Aundrey R. Stanfield.
He is survived by his children, Claudia R. Narcarti, Lana R. Padgett (Edwin) and Dale Ray (Dianne), all of Glennville; sister in law, Lois Ray of Glennville; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; seven step great - grandchildren; six great - great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, with Reverend Michael Morgan officiating. Burial followed in Watermelon Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Smith, David Christman, Danny Hughes, Lee Herrington, Clint Baxley and Quinton Rush. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Tattnall county Sheriff’s Department and the Tattnall County Road Department.

Robert (Bob) Sikes, 81
Robert (Bob) Sikes, 81, died Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Candler County Hospital after an extended illness. The native of Tattnall County lived most of his life in Metter and was retired from the Department of Transportation. Mr. Bob was of the Baptist Faith, an army veteran of the Korean conflict, worked several years at Hooks Mortuary, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Survivors: His wife of 55 years, Shirley Hodges Sikes; daughters, Wanda (Phil) Finnerty, Linda (Troy) Oglesby, Bobbie Jo (Jody) Nasworthy; grandchildren, Garrett and Jansin Jarrell and Shaylin and Payce Oglesby; great - grandchildren, Keagan and Kylie Ann Jarrell.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 25 at Cedar Street Baptist Church, with burial following in the Sunlight Cemetery.

Wilton Reppard Threatt, 79
Wilton Reppard Threatt, 79, passed away November 17, 2009, at his residence, after a long illness, under the care of Ogeechee Hospice.
The Evans County native was a member and Deacon of Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Korean War Veteran, was awarded Farm Family of the Year and was one of the original members of the Claxton Wildlife Club. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his church family. He was avid about fishing, coon hunting and tending his farm and animals.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louise Threatt of Claxton; two sons, Kenny (Barbara) Threatt and Norman Threatt, all of Claxton; three daughters, Tammi (Danny) Woodrum of Statesboro, Wendy (Steve) Boatright and Jeannie (Lee) Burkhalter, both of Claxton; one brother - in - law, Howard Hughes of Savannah; one sister, Versie Cribbs of Claxton; eight grandchildren, Heidi (Robbie) Barnard, Matthew (Valerie) Woodrum, Amanda (Brad) Black, Daniel Threatt, Brooke Boatright, Callie Boatright, Becky (Josh) Havener and Maggie Burkhalter; five great - grandchildren, Libby Black, Emily Barnard, Alana Barnard, Hallie Havener and Adisyn Havener; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Hagan and Elder John Scott officiating. Burial was at Threatt Family cemetery in Claxton.
Pallbearers were Marty Gilbreth, Marty Thompson, Derrell Anderson, Alan Sikes, Marty Daniel, Barry Anderson, Shane Blalock and Robert Noggle. Honorary Pallbearers were Deacons of Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church and Edward Blalock.

Sula Todd Webber, 79
Sula Todd Webber, 79, of Commerce, died early Friday morning, November 20, 2009, at the Athens Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Tattnall County, GA and was married
to the Rev. John Webber, former pastor for many years of the Commerce Church of God. Mrs. Webber was a minister herself, having also served alongside her husband, as they pastored several churches over the years. She was also a seamstress, a retail sales manager and a housewife.
Survivors, along with her husband, include a daughter, Valerie Dawn (John) Massey of Commerce; a sister, Sally Anderson of Savannah; and two grandchildren, Michael Beck and Carly Jade Massey.
Pallbearers, along with several honorary pallbearers, were Michael Beck, Michael Kitchens, David Adams, Tony Webber, Tommy Slater and Stevie Brock.
William “Bill” Bargeron, 51
William “Bill” Bargeron, age 51 passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Toombs County native was reared in Tattnall County and has lived in Evans County for the past thirty years. He was an entrepreneur owning B&B Enterprises and East Coast Environmental. He formally owned and operated Southern Barbeque and was a Tattnall County reserve deputy sheriff. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Claxton.
He is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Chris and Leigh Bargeron of Reidsville; a special friend, Kay Reese of Reidsville;three brothers and sister - in - laws, Buddy and Grace Evans of South Carolina, Bob and Debbie Jones of Ailey and Chuck Jones of Claxton; four sisters and brother - in - laws, Sara Neese of Meldrim, Jean and Lester Slaton of Reynolds, Peggy Munch of Port St. Lucie and Valree and Steve Holton of Reidsville; four grandchildren, Trevor Bargeron, Lindsey, Jonathan and Lance Willis all of Reidsville; two great - grandchildren, Leevi and Logan Willis of Reidsville and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers were Sheriff Quinton Rush, Sergeant Gary Scarboro, Chief Harold Rogers, Captain Raymond Bradley, Deputy Alan McNeese and Mr. Mike Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were Employees of B&B Enterprise and Public Safety Employees.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 8, 2009, at 3:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Smith officiating with burial followed in Harmony United Methodist Church cemetery in Glennville.

William D. “Bill” Cowart, 98
Mr. William D. “Bill” Cowart, age 98, passed away Tuesday November 10, 2009, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient facility. The Emanuel County native had lived in Glynn County many years, prior to moving to Tattnall County seven years ago. He was a crane operator, retiring from the State of Georgia, and was a member of Inman Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lyla Strickland Cowart and a daughter, Ann Lafavor.
He is survived by his grandson, Willie Lafavor and great - grandson, Andrew Lafavor, both of New York; two sisters, Marioum Amerson of Darien and Ethel Sikes of Reidsville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were conducted Friday, November 13, from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home in Reidsville. Interment followed in the Providence Baptist Church cemetery in Toombs County.
