Margaret Cooper Wieczorek, 80

Margaret Cooper Wieczorek, 80, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007, at Glenvue Nursing home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Montgomery County native had lived in Savannah many years before moving to Glennville in 2003. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wieczorek, Sr.
She is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Frank and Holly Wieczorek of Glennville; daughters and sons - in - law, Barbara and Steve Reimer of Jacksonville, FL, Renee and Roger Layman of Chadsworth, GA; 12 grandchildren, 20 great - grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend John Nunes and Brother Jack DuRose officiating.
Burial followed in the Cooper Family cemetery in Montgomery County.
Pallbearers were Shannon Wieczorek, Keith Norris, Carl Clark, Rodney Moore, Kenny Wieczorek and Matt Terrell.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Linda Tucker Hallman, 57

Linda Tucker Hallman, 57, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at Chandler Hospital. The Evans County native had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elwyn Tucker Sr.; brother, Elwyn Tucker Jr. and her sister, Ellen T. Strickland.
She is survived by her husband, James Theron Hallman of Glennville; mother, Ella Ouida Tucker of Claxton; children, Derek Hallman and Kimberly Hallman of Glennville; sister and brother - in - law, Jackie and Ray Snellgrove of Claxton; and two grandchildren, Noah and Joseph.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 4, 2007, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville with Reverend Vance Riggins officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Tucker, Jerry Kerby, Danny Kerby, Charles Kerby, Adam Snellgrove and Scott Snellgrove.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Ann Weitman Mobley, 69

Mary Ann Weitman Mobley, 69, of Glennville died Monday, August 6, 2007, at her residence. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of her life. She retired from Glennville Lingerie as a seamstress and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Mobley.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Barnard DeLoach of Ludowici; sons, William Wayne Mobley of Glennville and Mitchell Daniel Barnard of Richmond Hill; sisters, Eloise Weitman, Diane Folsom and Cheryl Durrence, all of Glennville; brothers, Lester Weitman, Jr., of Auburndale, FL, and Derrell Weitman of Glennville; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stacy Howard, Kevin Weitman, David Baxter, Mark Weitman, James Weitman and Tracy Sands.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

Iris H. Perkins, 79

Mrs. Iris H. Perkins, age 79 of the Blue Ridge Community of Lyons, died Sunday, August 5, 2007, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a year - long battle with cancer. She was a native of Toombs County and lived most of her life in Lyons. She retired after 47 years of service from Oxford Manufacturing Company and was a member of the Marietta Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Wynne Perkins, a daughter, Shirley Harvey Larisey and her parents, Rufus Findley and Netta Monroe Paradice.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by two daughters and sons - in - law, Earnestine Powell and Kenny of Metter and Sue Kennedy and Kenneth of Reidsville; two sons and daughters - in - law, Wendell Harvey and Linda of Lyons and J. C. Harvey and Cheryl of Vidalia; one sister, Dealva Jones; two brothers and sisters - in - law,
Pete Day and Sandra and Buddy Paradice and Bonnie all of Lyons; 11 grandchildren, 19 great - grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Iris H. Perkins were held Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home, with Reverend Irvin Murphy officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne McCumber, Shannon McCumber, Travis Harvey, Hunter McCumber, Dillan Sharpe and Jeremy Harvey.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Community Hospice House, P.O. Box 2277, Vidalia, Ga. 30475 or the American Cancer Society, 515 Denmark St., Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.

Nina Mae Sands Smith, 95

Nina Mae Sands Smith, 95, of Glennville died Monday, August 6, 2007, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of her life. She was a graduate of Glennville High School class of 1930 and the oldest living member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashmore Smith.
She is survived by daughters and sons - in - law, Mary Ellen and W. A. Rogers, Jr., of Dunwoody, and Madera and S. E. Smith of Glennville; a brother, Marcus Sands of Glennville; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2007, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pat Brannen, Paul Conner, Jason Conner, Jimmy Bland, Terry Smith and Ronald Smith.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

Donald S. Wright, 81

Donald S. Wright passed away suddenly Sunday, August 5, 2007, at Winn Army Hospital. He was born November 25, 1925, in St. Petersburg, FL, and had lived in Augusta and Savannah for many years before moving to Glennville in 1995. He had a lifetime career in the newspaper business with the Augusta Chronicle and Savannah Morning News, retiring in 1993. He was a lifetime member of Sertoma International, being a charter member of the Athens and Augusta Clubs. He was an avid bowler for many years, and served as President and Secretary for many leagues.
He is survived by a loving wife of 54 years, Frances A. Wright of Glennville.
Graveside Funeral Services were Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Glennville Memorial Gardens.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge of the arrangements.

Annie Lou Baker, 84

Annie Lou Baker, 84, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007, at her residence. The Long County native had lived in Glennville all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Luther Baker.
She is survived by daughter and son - in - law, Edwina and Dan Karch of Glennville; grandchildren, Rachael, Sari, and Rebecca Karch all of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Knight officiating. Burial followed in Beards Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shad Dasher, Scott Lynn, Jim Dasher, Frank Vadala, Lance Dasher, and Jerry Burkhalter.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald “Dink” Dinkins, 52

Ronald “Dink” Dinkins, 52, of Arabi, GA., died at his residence Wednesday, July 25, 2007.
Mr. Dinkins, a native of Tattnall County, was born June 10, 1955, and was the son of the late Zelty and Helen Pagett Dinkins. He was employed by Firestone of Cordele as a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Maurine Dinkins of Arabi; three children, Candie Marie Dinkins, Heath Ronald Dinkins, and Heather Maurine Dinkins, all of Cordele; a foster son, Paul Walker, Jr. of Knob Noster, MO; three brothers, Danny Dinkins of Glennville, David Dinkins of Reidsville, and Randy Cribbs of High Fall; a sister, Diane Hard of Bonneau Beach, SC; a step - sister, Linda Todd of Reidsville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, 2007, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up at Regions Bank in Cordele.
Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

Steven Brantley
Steven T. Brantley, age 62, of East Dublin, died at his home on Friday, December 24, 2010.

Mr. Brantley was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Gladys Edge Brantley, and a brother, Frank Brantley. He was a retired electrician and attended the Dublin Church of God. He served in the Army Reserve for six years.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Annette Phillips Brantley; children, David (Crystal) Brantley of Dublin, Scott (Kristen) Brantley and Tina Brantley of East Dublin; grandchildren, Rebecca Brantley, Emma Kate Brantley, Adriana Brantley; siblings, Donald (Lois) Brantley, Dale (Rhonda) Brantley, Dervin Brantley, Ann (Doug) McDaniel, Joyce Ward, Helen (J. B.) Giles, Vivian Davis, Brenda Patrick, Nell (Jimmy) Brown, all of Soperton, Shannon (Mell) Brantley, Norristown, Buck (Patti) Brantley, Vidalia, Hilbron (Sandy) Brantley, Macon, and Teresa (Bruce) Morris, Evensville, TN.

Services will be held in the Blackville Church of God at 2 p. m. Tuesday, December 28, with the Reverend Steve Hardeman officiating. Burial will be in Tarrytown cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be David Brantley, Scott Brantley, Michael Giles, Clint Brantley, Gerald Brantley, Mitch Brantley, Brian Whitaker and Jerry Carter.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.
