Mrs. DeShannon Yanee Jackson, 23, of Collins, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Jesse Jackson; one son, Cameron Jaymon Jackson; mother, Linda Jackson; father, Eddie T. Jackson; two brothers, Eddie T. Jackson, II and Byron Jackson; grandmother, Melrose Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Tison, GA. Public visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harper’s Funeral Home.
Professional services are entrusted to Harper’s Funeral Home.

Carolyn Waters Lynn, 77

Carolyn Waters Lynn, 77, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Tattnall Community Hospital.
Carolyn was born in Glennville, Georgia, and lived in the Tattnall County area her entire life. In 1947, she graduated from Glennville High School and attended the Georgia Teacher’s College. Carolyn worked at the Farm Program Service Agency in Reidsville from 1952 until she retired in 1986.
Friends and family will cherish memories of Carolyn as the devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother extraordinaire. Her home and heart were always open and her kitchen was the family gathering place.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Mada Smith Waters and a brother, Dan Waters.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Byron Lynn of Collins; son and daughter - in - law, Dr. Steve and Miriam Lynn of Collins; granddaughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Lynn of Athens, GA; brother and sisters - in - law, Wendell and Bobbie Waters of Reidsville and Nell Waters of Glennville; five nieces, two nephews and many cousins also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 3, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend David Hudson officiating. Interment followed in the Little Flock Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Lynn, Paul Davidson, Mike Waters, Steve Layden, Barry Franklin and Walt Freeman.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to your favorite charity or the Reidsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 218, Reidsville, GA 30453.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of serving the Lynn family.

David A. Barnard, 63

Carlos Cleveland Barrow, Sr., 73, passed away April 19, 2008, under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. He was a deacon and member of Emmaus Church. Mr. Barrow was a member of 47th Bomb Wing Tactical Air Command, 47th Air Police Squadron RAF Station, Schulthorpe, England in 1956, and was retired from Daniel Measurement and Control in Statesboro, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William Cleveland and Retha Vashti Barrow.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jane Oliver of Claxton; two sons and daughter - in - law, Derek Barrow and Carlos C. Jr. and Ida Sue Barrow, all of Claxton; one daughter and son - in - law, Kimberly B. and Daniel J. Pennington of Statesboro, GA; four grandchildren, Stephen and Hannah Barrow of Claxton and Shelby and Daniel Pennington of Statesboro; one brother and sister - in - law, Curtis and Loretta Barrow of Claxton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Hubert Hendrix officiating. Burial followed in the Emmaus Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Akins, Ray Oliver, Wayne Stewart, John Womble, Chad DeLoach and Kurt DeLoach. Honorary pallbearers were the Class of 1955.

Margaret Wright Butler, 74

Margaret Wright Butler, 74, of Glennville, died Friday, April 18, 2008, after an extended illness. She was an active resident of Glenvue Nursing Home for several years, and a faithful member of the Center of Life Church of God. She was preceded in death by her sons, Len and Larry Coleman.
She is survived by her children: Susie Butler of Jesup and Naomi and Judy Butler of Trenton, NJ; sisters, Novella (Ruben) King of Glennville and Susie Williams of Brunswick; brothers: Horace (Pat) Wright of St. Paul, NC; Laverne Wright of Callahan, FL; Glenn Wright of Lambertville, NJ; and Earnest Wright of Paterson, NJ; several grandchildren; a devoted friend and roommate, Gladys Hallman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at King and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Center of Life Church of God, located at 1202 MLK Drive in Glennville.

King and Brothers Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.

E.F. Fountain, 64

Mr. E.F. Fountain, age 64, died at his residence after a short illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and had resided there most of his life. He served six and one half years in the Air force and retired with thirty years of service at Bell South. Mr. Fountain was a Mason and Shriner, with his 32nd Degree Scottish Rites. He served on the Montgomery County DFACS Board and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He enjoyed retirement and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Eschol Fountain, mother and father - in - law, John and Ethel McCaw.
Survivors are: his wife, Elaine McCaw Fountain, of Vidalia, one daughter and her husband, Amy and Phillip Culpepper of Vidalia, his mother, Frances B. Fountain, two sisters, Martha Horne and husband, James of Vidalia, Joyce Collins and husband, Powell, of Lyons, one granddaughter, Amelia Elaine Culpepper of Vidalia.
Funeral service for E.F. Fountain were held Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia with Dr. Keith Tipton officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery with full Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers were Jack McMillan, Joseph W. Adams, Homer Rivers, Kenneth Senterfeit and John McCaw.
Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.

Eboni Galloway, 18

Eboni Galloway, 18, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. She was born at Winn Army Community Hospital on Ft. Stewart, living in Tattnall County most of her life. She was a member of Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries Church. She was a Senior at Tattnall County High School.
She is survived by her parents, Val and Sandy Jackson of Glennville; father, Gregory E. Galloway of Fitchburgh, MA; one brother, Christopher Michael Eulin of Augusta, GA; one half brother, Tyler Galloway of MA; two half sisters, Candyce Galloway and Jasmine Galloway, both of MA; three step - sisters, Erin Smalls of MA, Candyce Jackson and Chrystal Jackson, both of Atlanta; maternal grandmother, Rosenee Rolee of Vero Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m. at the Tattnall County High School gymnasium. Burial will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.
Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville is in charge of the arrangements.

Ulysses Howard, 83

Ulysses Howard was born to the late Sally Mae Mason and Hardy Howard and the late Annie Howard June 8, 1924, in Bulloch County, Georgia. He departed this life on April 14, 2008, at Glenvue Nursing Home. He attended the public schools of Bulloch County. He retired from a long service of seasonal contract work. He joined the church at a young age.
He was preceded in death by a brother, the late Robert Howard; two sons and a daughter - in - law, Danny Howard and John (Linda) Howard; and a son - in - law, Walter Smith of Apopka, FL.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Karrie Kimble of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 57 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Emma D. Lovett of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Willie (Gertie) Howard of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Calvin Howard of Jacksonville, FL; a very special friend, Alexander Smith; a special nephew, Roger (Brenda) Lovett.
He is survived by children, Betty (the late Walter) Smith of Apopka, FL, Annette (Lewis) Marshall of Marsville, PA, Ulyssee (Helen) Howard of Ft. Worth, TX, Harriett (Paul) Lisbon of Glennville, GA, Earlean Howard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Norma (Ervin) Walker of Glennville, GA, Willie Lee Howard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tommy Lee Howard of Tampa, FL, Hardy Mae Howard of Tampa, FL, Sandra, Remel and Audrey Howard, all of Jacksonville, FL, Laven (Tonya) Howard of Arie, PA, Linda (Karrie) Doe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ricky Kimble, Virginia Kimble and Scottie Kimble, all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Roy Kince and Lamar (Debra) Kince of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 20, 2008, at 3 p.m. at St. James AME in Glennville, GA, with Pastor Dexter Edwards presiding.
Active Pallbearers were Raphael Howard, Stephen Byrd, Duke Howard, Dorrell Grant, Gary Doe and Sentell Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers were Willie Walker, Justin Walker, Walter Howard and Ulysses Smith.
King and Sons Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge of the arrangements.

Herdron “Pete” Mimbs, 67

Herdron “Pete” Mimbs, 67, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at his residence, under the care of Community Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Bremen, GA, prior to returning to Reidsville twenty years ago. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was retired from Boilermakers Union Local #26, a Mason, and a member of St. Matthews Church of God. He loved fishing, his puppies and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wise Mimbs of Reidsville; daughter, Vickie Lee Taylor of Reidsville; sons, Herdron “Pete” Mimbs (Sherry) of Lyons, Johnny Mimbs (June) of Reidsville, Tommy Mimbs (Kim) of Vidalia and Frank Cribbs of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Jean Mullins of St. Augustine, FL and Penny Mae Rogers of Reidsville; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home in Reidsville with Reverend Harry Sims and Brother Shannon Mimbs officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Moriah Church cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers were Wayne Martin, Wayne Martin, Jr., Emmitt Denmark, J.T. Martin, Josh Martin and Nathan Rogers.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Reidsville chapel, was in charge of all the arrangements.

David A. Barnard, 63

David A. Barnard, 63, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Candler County native had lived in Collins and Reidsville most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Barnard; brothers, Wendell and Gary Barnard; sister, Elaine Willis.
He is survived by his mother, Maude Holland Barnard of Reidsville; sister and brother - in - law, Janice and Steve Medors of Pataskla, Ohio; brothers and sisters - in - law, Bobby and Pearl Barnard of Claxton, Wayne and Libby Barnard of Metter, Stanley and Cherry Barnard of Collins, Brad and Debra Barnard, Timmy and Patricia Barnard, Ricky and Annette Barnard and Kevin Barnard all of Reidsville; brother - in - law, Bo Bo Willis; sister - in - law, Connie Barnard of Cobbtown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 12, 2008, from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend William Prince officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeffery Barnard, Bobby Barnard, Kenneth Barnard, Alvin Barnard, Brian Barnard, Jamie Barnard and Jason Medors.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home of Reidsville was in charge of the arrangements.

Trudie Viola Wilkins
Mrs. Trudie Viola Wilkins, age 91 of Soperton, died Saturday, October 16, 2010.

Mrs. Wilkins was born in Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph and Susie Smith McDaniel, and her husband, Thomas A. Wilkins. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Treutlen County.

Survivors include four sons, J.W. Wilkins, Salem, FL, Benny T. Wilkins, Sr., Tacoma, WA, Bobby Wilkins, Pleasantville, TN, Jessie J. Wilkins, Shady Grove, FL; daughter, Susie M. Wallace, Old Town, FL; twenty three grandchildren, numerous great - grandchildren and great - great grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, with the Rev. Nolon McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Red Bluff Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
