Robert “Bobby” Kennedy, 76
Robert “Bobby” Kennedy, 76, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia. The Tattnall County native and lifelong resident was the son of the late Olin Kennedy Sr. and Lizzie Monroe Kennedy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and farmed with his father for many years.

He is survived by a sister - in - law, Edris Kennedy of Bellville; nephews, Gary Kennedy of Collins, Larry and Danny Kennedy both of Bellville, Charles Kennedy of Claxton, Norris and Billy George both of Deland, FL; a niece, Angie Hendrix of Claxton and several cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Kennedy

Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Gary Toole officiating. Burial followed in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Kennedy, Raymond Brown, Boonie Monroe, Michael Kennedy and Daniel Kennedy.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

George Marvin Love, 53
George Marvin Love, 53, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at his residence in Claxton. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of his life. He was employed by Altamaha Pest Control and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Katrina and Larry Hill of Claxton and Danny Love of Glennville; mother, Leila Love of Glennville; sisters, Elizabeth Clark of Claxton, Patsy Bacon of Ludowici and Carolyn Swindell of Glennville; brothers, Gene Love, R.L. Love, Ernie Love and Eli Love, all of Glennville; grandchildren, Hannah and Noah Hill and Kensly Love and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, with Rev. Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Glennville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Lee Bacon, Edward Oglesbee Jr., Leslie Bacon, Shannon Rogers, Jonathan Waters, Marty Oliver, and Ronnie Williams.

Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Sarah Meeks McNeely, 80
Mrs. Sarah Meeks McNeely, 80, of Metter died Monday, November 4, 2008, at the Candler County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and former member of the Metter PBW and also a charter member of Cedar Street Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband H.J. (Junior) McNeely, five brothers and one sister.

Survivors: Sons, Ronald and Ricky McNeely both of Metter; Daughters, Brenda McNeely of Statesboro and Nancy Godowns of Hilton Head SC; Sister - in - Law, Catherine Meeks of Metter; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6 in the chapel of Kennedy - Morgan - Brannen Funeral Home of Metter with burial to follow in the Lake cemetery.

Anne G. Moore
Anne G. Moore died October 23, 2008. Mrs. Moore was the public relations director for Bethesda Memorial Hospital for 35 years. She was preceded in death by husband Dr. John D. Moore, a native of Cobbtown.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Moore and Darsey Moore. A private memorial service will be held at as later date.

George Allen Randall, 64
George Allen Randall, 64, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at his residence from injuries in an accident. The Toombs County native had lived in Evans and Tattnall County area all of his life. He was co - owner of Randall - Lewis Lumber Company and an avid outdoorsman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all and a member of Daisy United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. F.C. and Martha Randall and Clide Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Valarie D. Randall of Claxton; daughters and son - in - law, Allie Randall of Waynesboro and Mandy and Anthony Anderson of Collins; sons and daughters - in - law, Al and Kristi Randall of Glennville and Foy and Betsy Randall of Claxton; sister, Denise Randall Smith of Beaufort, SC; brothers and sisters - in - law, Clifford and Jane Randall of Reidsville, Darrie and Sharlene Randall of Glennville and Wayne and Cathy Randall of Claxton; grandchildren, Chancellor and Payton Randall, Rebecca Mixon and Matthew Anderson, one great - grandchild, Jayce Mixon and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Harmony United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles (Bucky) Strickland, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Neal Anderson, Shane Sikes, Drew Thomas, Daniel Dreggors, Jarad Randall, Edgar Danner, Wayne Strange and Bill Callaway.

Lannie (Snooky) R. Aldrich, 52

Lannie (Snooky) R. Aldrich, 52, died Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Candler County Hospital. The native of Candler County was a member of the Metter Church of God, Lannie loved singing in the church and sharing the Gospel through his jail ministry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and his dogs Coon Bug and Lea Lea.
Survivors are his wife, Denise M. Aldrich of Metter; sons, Paul Reinberg of Orange City FL, Kyle Aldrich of 29 Palms, CA; daughter, Michele Norinthia Aldrich of Metter; mother, Mary Faye Miller of Savannah; step - mother, Elizabeth Aldrich; brothers, Mike Aldrich, Broadus Aldrich, David Stubbs, Lonnie Aldrich, Roger Miller; sisters, Robin Holton and Ronda Cribbs, step - brothers Richard and Dennis Johnson, step - sister, Nancy Nichols and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at the Metter Church of God. Burial followed in the Primitive Grove Cemetery.

Wornie Wilcox Cummings, 90

Mrs. Wornie Wilcox Cummings, 90, of Glennville, GA, departed this life on Friday, December 19, 2008, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, GA. She was a native of Long County and resided in Tattnall County. She was a member of Zion Temple Church of Christ, 413 Jackson Street, in Glennville, GA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Henry Cummings, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 14 children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother and sister - in - law and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 26, 2008, from 6 - 8 p.m., at Zion Temple Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at Zion Temple Church of Christ.

Tavarus Miller, 23

Tavarus Miller, 23, of Glennville passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008, at The Doctor’s Hospital of Tattnall in Reidsville. He was a native of Tattnall County and attended the public schools in Tattnall County. He was a 2002 graduate of the Youth Challenge Academy in Macon, GA. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Udella H. Davis.
He is survived by his mother, Tammi K. Miller of Hawalli, Kuwait; his father, Frankie B. Sheppard of Glennville; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Laverne (Noah) Hill of Glennville; paternal grandfather, Alfonso B. Hawkins of Manassas; paternal grandfather, Willie Frank (Gloria) Sheppard of Dorchester, Massachusetts; sisters, Whitney, TaMarra, Shamae, Daysha, all of Glennville, Raven of Claxton and Shanequa of Mass.; brothers, Eric of Lakeland, FL and Tykeem of Glennville; a very special friend, Lourie Mobley of Claxton and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Michael Hall, Dayshun Davis, Willie L. Hall, Stacey Jordan, Von Stanley, and Luke Hardee. Honorable pallbearers were Classmates and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 28, 2008, at 1 p.m., at Faith Temple #2 in Glennville, with burial following in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Glennville.

Jimmie Curry, 58

Jimmie Curry was born March 25, 1950, in Tattnall County, Georgia, to the late Mr. Malcolm Curry and Gladys Carter Curry.
He joined the Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. C. L. Anderson. He attended Tattnall Industrial High School in Reidsville, GA. God saw necessity to call him home Tuesday, December 9, 2008.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters, Leatha, Mable, Versaline, all of Glennville, GA, and Lizzie Mae (Jimmy) Hall of Nahunta, GA; three brothers, Willis, Willie Lee and Clearence Curry, all of Glennville, GA; one aunt, Aretha Fair of Glennville, GA; one uncle, A. J. Carter of Gainesville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Services were held Saturday, December 13, 2008. King and Sons Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Michael “Mike” Davis, 66

Kenneth Michael “Mike” Davis age 66, passed away Thursday evening at The Doctor’s Hospital of Tattnall. The Whitfield County native was reared in Dalton and lived in Atlanta for a few years. He joined the Georgia State Patrol in 1968 and moved to Reidsville. He retired from the patrol as a 1st Class Sergeant and was the Post Commander of the Reidsville Post #18. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of Pinewood Christian Academy; Assistant Boy Scout Master for the Reidsville Troop 930; and served as the secretary - treasure of the Reidsville Airport Authority. He was currently a member of the Peace Officers Association, Rising Sun Lodge #32 and the Reidsville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond O. and Dale Hill Davis and his father - in - law, Herschel O’Brien.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy Davis of Reidsville; a son and daughter - in - law, Brien and Tricia Davis of Reidsville; a brother and sister - in - law, Raymond O. and Samantha Davis Jr. of Blue Ridge; mother - in - law, Hazel Tillman O’Brien of Mt. Vernon; sister - in - law and brother in - law, Johnny and Mary O’Brien Davis of Mt. Vernon; brother - in - law Jerry and sister - in - law Carol O’Brien of Alpharetta; several nieces and nephews also survive
Pallbearers were Georgia State Patrol Honor Guard, Honorary pallbearers were Law Enforcement and Mike’s closet friends.
Funeral Services were conducted Sunday, December 14, 2008, from the Reidsville Baptist Church with Rev. Sterling Bargeron and Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Interment followed in the Reidsville City cemetery with honors rendered by the Georgia State Patrol and Masonic Rites by Rising Sun Lodge #32.

Donna Morgan Spell, 50

Donna Morgan Spell, 50, passed away Friday, December 12, 2008, under the care of Serenity Hospice. She was born in Savannah and lived in Metter for 12 years before moving to Cobbtown 18 years ago. Donna worked in retail clothing sales and was a former manager of the Metter Dog Kennel. She was a member of the Metter Church of God. Donna loved fishing and the sport of hunting, “but would not shoot anything.” She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Parrish.
Donna is survived by her husband, Thomas Spell of Cobbtown; father, Lee Morgan of Drew, MS; five children, Danny, John Robert, Jack and Pamela Stewart all out - of - town, and Lynn Brown of Metter; five step - children, Louie Spell, Eric Scott, Robin Lynn, Lisa Lynn and Cindy Canady, both of Reidsville; two brothers, Brad and Benjie Morgan of MS; two sisters, Rose Stanhope of Savannah and Frankie Smith of Lyons; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Owen Waters officiating. Cremation followed.

James Ishmael Thompson, 92

James Ishmael Thompson, 92, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at Evans Memorial Hospital. He was a life long resident of Tattnall County and was retired from civil service at Ft. Stewart. He was a World War II Army veteran, the oldest member of the Glennville VFW Post #8379, and American Legion Post #95, and was a life long member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bacon Thompson.
He is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Juan and Phyllis Thompson of Glennville; grandchildren, Dawn and David Distin, Phillip and Tracy Thompson, April and Michael Carter and Candy and Aaron Newhouse; 12 great - grandchildren, one great - great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin Saturday, December 20 at 1 p.m., at Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m., from the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Vance Riggins officiating. Burial will follow in Glennville City cemetery with military honors.

Maria Arizmendi, 58

Maria Arizmendi, 58, passed away early Wednesday morning at her residence. The Brownsville, Texas, native had lived in Brownsville and Reidsville most of her life. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by: her husband, Everardo Arizmendi of Reidsville; her mother, Felecitas Patlan of Reidsville; two daughters, Sandra Arizmendi and Elizabeth Arizmendi, both of Reidsville; three sons, Rudy, Everardo and Ruben Arizmendi all of Reidsville; three Sisters, Ernestina Sierra, Margarita Patlan and Evagelina Patlan all of Reidsville; three brothers, Trangelino Patlan, Juliam Patlan and Juan Patlan; 16 grandchildren, Uvaldo and Alejandro Gutierrez; Rudy, Roy, Randy, Anthony, Eric, Joel, Trevino, Jr., Maribel, Linda, Abby, Valerie, Shelsi, Viviana, Monic, and Briana Arizmendi; two great - grandchildren, Randy, Jr. and Shaniel Arizmendi; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services and Interment will be held in Brownsville, Texas.

Logan Michael Hinson, infant

Logan Michael Hinson, infant son of Julia (J.J.) and Jason Hinson, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by two sisters, Harley and Jaycee Hinson; brother, Landon Hinson; maternal grandparents, Bobbette and Edward Dasher; paternal grandparents, Linda Hinson of Daytona, FL and Steve and Kay Hinson of Glennville; special aunt, Dorothy Love of Glennville; special uncle, L.C. Blocker of Glennville and several other relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Jim Bowen officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
