Jerri Garrison Flournoy, 71
Jerri Garrison Flournoy, former president of the Long County Chamber of Commerce, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, September 17, 2010, following a brief illness. She was 71.
Jerri was born on February 2, 1939, in Bartow County and graduated from Taylorsville High School. She attended Marsh Business College (now South College University). Jerri was a long time resident of Long County, where she served on the Private Industry Council, the State Health Council, and the State Development Authority. She was a faithful member of Glennville United Methodist Church, where she was chair of the Status and Role of Women Committee and also served on several other church organizations.
Her favorite job was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Richard O. Flournoy Sr.; her daughter, Leslie F. Johnson; sons, Richard O. Flournoy Jr. and Samuel Matthew Flournoy; her son - in - law, Walter E. Johnson; daughters - in - law Lisa F. Flournoy and Melanie G. Flournoy. She had six special grandchildren, Lauren, Allison, and Heather Johnson, Taylor and Tripp Flournoy, and Emma Grace Flournoy. Jerri also leaves behind three special sisters, Laverne Turner, Hazel Daws, and Martha Gilstrap. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Luna Garrison, and her two brothers, Hugh and Charles Garrison.
Funeral services were conducted at the Glennville United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 19, with Rev. Vance Riggins and Rev. John Haney officiating. Interment followed at Jones Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Long County.
Pallbearers were Glenn Campbell, Chuck Garrison, Tommy Daws, Jimmy Turner, Vic Flournoy, and Tracy Flournoy Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Earl Tanner Sunday School Class of the Glennville United Methodist Church.

Jannette Lynn King, 43
Jannette Lynn King, 43, died Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Evans Memorial Hospital. She was born in Batavia, NY, on September 10, 1967, and lived in LeRoy and Bloomfield, NY, where she attended school. She moved to Georgia in 1999 and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Dorothy Washburn and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Rick King of Glennville; daughters, Katie King of Ellabelle and Natashia King of Glennville; son, Andrew King of Glennville; siblings, Bonnie Ellis (Lee) of Jesup, John Clark of Pennsylvania, Harold Washburn (Laura) of Clifton Springs, NY, Sharon Clark of Reidsville, Susan Halbert (Tim) of Spokane, WA, David Clark (Mary) of Harnell, NY, Mark Washburn (Sandra) of Ellabelle, Rebecca Elden (Robert) of Canandaigua, NY, Matt Washburn (Pam) of Conesus, NY, Joanne Magee (John) of Mt. Morris, NY; step - siblings, Charles Washburn, Joe Washburn, Richard Washburn, all of the Bath, NY area; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m, Thursday, September 23, 2010 from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, in Glennville, GA. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

Novadean Blocker Mobley, 95
Novadean Blocker Mobley passed away at the home of her daughter and son - in - law, June and Ben Bailey on Friday, September 17, after a long and valiant battle with strokes and breast cancer.
She was born on November 15, 1914 in Tattnall County, GA, to Albert and Della Strickland Blocker. She moved to Liberty County in 1933. She met and married
Hinton Mobley in 1935. After 64 years of marriage her husband died in 1999. She became ill with strokes in March of 2000 and was cared for, in Georgia, by her son and daughter - in - law until October of 2002. She then went to live with her daughter in Oak Ridge, TN.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hinesville, GA. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great - grandmother. Many friends and family affectionately called her “Mama Nean, ” the special name given to her by her niece, Linda Keim of Stella, NC when Linda was very young.
Mama Nean also loved to quilt with her church group. She had many hobbies that included crocheting, gardening and especially raising flowers. She and her husband originated and operated the Mossy Oaks Nursery in Hinesville, GA. After her strokes and moving to Oak Ridge to live with her daughter, she enjoyed her great grandkids’ activities, especially their ball games.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Ann Mobley Cook of McAlester, OK, two brothers, Carroll Blocker of Jesup, GA, and Denver Blocker of Allenhurst, GA.
She is survived by her daughter and son - in - law June and Ben Bailey, Oak Ridge, TN; son and daughter - in - law Ferrell and Judy Mobley of Hinesville, GA; a sister, Nell Newell, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; three grandchildren; Michael (Gayla) Bailey, Lea (Mark) Foxworth all of Oak Ridge and Tiffany Mobley Smith of Hinesville, GA; six great - grandchildren, Michael Benjamin and Matthew Foxworth, Julie and Jody Bailey; all of Oak Ridge, Clayton Mobley and Taylor Smith; both of Hinesville, GA and several nieces and nephews.
“Mama Nean” cared very much for her caregivers, especially those that cared for her often, who were Billie Haddix, Tina Ledford, Alicia Hembree, Pat Behrens and Private Sitters/Eldercare.

Lela Mae Nesbitt, 62
Mrs. Lela Mae Nesbitt, 62, of Glennville passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Tattnall County and attended the public schools in the county.
She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Vatonya (Elmo) Thomas and Mrs. Jenea (Terry) Robinson both of Glennville, and Mrs. Georgiana (David) Morris of Indianapolis, IN; ten grandchildren and one great grand; two sisters, Julia Byrd of Claxton, and Idella Welcome Jones of Glennville; two brothers, Joe Welcome of Reidsville, and Lawrence Welcome of Glennville; a close companion, James Harris Sr. of Glennville, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Center of Life Church of God, with burial following in the First A. B. cemetery in Glennville.

Mrs. Alice B. Tootle, 79 of Glennville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at The Doctors Hospital in Reidsville, Ga.
She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Lee Ann (Cleverton) Hutchinson and Mrs. Paula (Edward) Jordan both of Glennville, and Jessie Dean Tootle of Harlan, NY; three sons, Welton Tootle of Glennville, Gaylan Tootle of Valdosta, GA, and Stan (Janice) Tootle of Bainbridge, GA; seven grand and seven great grandchildren; one brother Harvey (Pauline) Brooks of Newnan, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 20, 2010, at the Center of Life - Church of God in Glennville. Burial followed in the Robert Chapel Cemetery.

William Avery Folsom Waters, three - year - old son of Heather Folsom Waters and Daniel Waters, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010. He is preceded in death by his maternal great - grandparents, R.D. and Hazel Folsom, and paternal great - grandfather, Don Salter.
In addition to his parents he is survived by: maternal grandparents, Brent and Tina Folsom of Glennville; paternal grandmother, Debbie Salter, of Glennville; maternal great - grandparents, Ralph and Janet Fitzgerald of Glennville; paternal great - grandmother, Maridean Salter of Glennville; aunt, Monica Folsom; and several cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 17, 2010, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Cason officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Church Cemetery.

Edra Wenona Baker, 85
Edra Wenona Baker, 85, of Kingsland, GA, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010, at her home in the arms of her daughters, Tomi, Laura, and special friend, Debbie Tompkins.
Mrs. Baker was born in Glennville on February 18, 1925, the daughter of LeRoy Banks and Leola Purvis Banks. She married
Thomas Leland Baker on September 7, 1942, and lived in Glennville until 2004, when she relocated to Kingsland to live with her daughter, Tomi.
Mrs. Baker was an avid gardener, accomplished cook, and devoted country music fan. She enjoyed traveling and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years. Her survivors include daughters, Thomasine “Tomi” Damron of Kingsland, Laura Baker of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Kristy Sands of Hinesville, GA; one brother and sister - in - law, Derry and Melba Banks of Belleville, GA; two sisters and brothers - in - law, Faye and Terry Bradley of Claxton, and Sue and Thomas Norby of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren include Lance Thomas (Susie) Damron of Jacksonville, FL, Courtney Kicklighter of Cherokee, NC, Carling Kicklighter of Savannah, Christy McMichael of Jacksonville, Tony (Sandy) Damron of Middleburg, FL, and Wendy and Robert Clark of Fleming, GA. Great grandchildren include Taylor Damron of Jacksonville, Scottie Leonard of Chicago, IL, Trent Strauss and Sudie Strauss, both of Jacksonville, Andrea Barlos of Orlando, FL, Bailey McMichael of Oklahoma City, OK, Michael and Lily Damron of Middleburg, FL, and Robert and Rebecca Clark of Fleming, GA.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 14, at the chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Brother Bruce Roberts officiating. Burial followed at Beard’s Creek Cemetery, Glennville, GA.

Florida Mae Hall Fuller, 87
Florida Mae Hall Fuller was born February 9, 1923, to the late Otis and Utah Hall and Henry Brown. She passed away September 7, 2010.
She received her education at Georgia Baptist in Macon, Georgia.
She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. T. J. Lynch. She later connected herself with Second Baptist Church, Mt. Holly, New Jersey, under the leadership of Rev. Babbi. She returned home and connected with her home church under leadership of Dr. C. L. Anderson. She was Clerk, Deaconess, Nurses Aide, Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher and in Missions.
She was united in Holy Matrimony on May 7, 1943, to Mr. David Fuller. This was a bond of love for sixty - five years. There were six children: Casper Poole (Becky) of Trenton, New Jersey, Bridget A. Brown (Harold) of Glennville, Georgia, Julian Donnell Fuller (Carolyn) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronald Fuller (Shelia) of Sacramento, California, Angielea Henry (Charles) of Glennville, Georgia, Jeffrey Fuller (Blanch) of Altus, Oklahoma; two brothers: John M. Brown (Mamie) of Augusta, Georgia, Floyd J. Brown - Washington (Mamie) of Ellenwood, Georgia; one uncle: Printis Tootle of Trenton, New Jersey; one aunt: Mildred Lee of Glennville, Georgia; a special cousin: Sylvester Ashford (Juanita); twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; special daughters: Annie Laura Stephens of Glennville, Georgia, and Elenora Wilbure of Willingboro, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 11 at 2 p.m. at Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church. Interment followed on Monday, September 13 at Georgia Veterans Memorial cemetery in Glennville.

J. Clyde Anderson, 79
Mr. J. Clyde Anderson, age 79, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Candler Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of his life and retired after 43 years of service with Canoochee Electric. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. Mr. Clyde was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his parents, John and Nella Anderson; five brothers, Le Roy, Thomas, David, Glaston and Raymond Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anglyn Baker Anderson of Reidsville; son and daughter - in - law, Joey Clyde and Annette Anderson of Reidsville; two daughters and son - in - law, Jo Ann and Keith Strickland of Claxton and Susan A. Waters and her friend Keller Wilcox of Reidsville; grandchildren, Rashe and Amanda Collins and Harley Strickland all of Claxton, Adam and Rachel Cowart and Abbey and Lee Johnson all of Reidsville; step - grandchildren, Charles Scott, Melvin Ward, Angie Ward, Jeffery “Buck” Terry and Josh Terry; great - grandchildren, Gabe Collins, Morgan and Molly Cowart and Madisyn Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 3, 2010, from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverends Steve Miller and Greg Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Old Anderson Church cemetery in Collins.
Pallbearers were Charles Anderson, Jess Anderson, Scott Padgett, Matt Padgett. Jeff Hughes and Lee Hughes.
