Richard Wayne Brooks
Richard Wayne Brooks, 58, of Tarrytown died Tuesday, January 27.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his father, Luther Mayes Brooks, Sr., and his brothers, Mays Brooks, Jr., and Bill Brooks. He was retired from the US Navy after twenty - four years of service and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hightower Brooks; son, Jamie Brooks, Peachtree City; mother, Geneva Reid; brothers, Danny, Neil and Gary Brooks.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 29. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Soperton, with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Helen Sumner
Mrs. Helen Sumner, 60, of Adrian died Sunday, February 15.
Mrs. Sumner was born in Evans County and was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Maybell Williams Boyett, and brother, J. E. Boyett. She was a member of Blackville Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Sumner; children, Sharon Denise (David) Hudson, and Paul (Katie) Nesmith, of Brooklet, Wayne Sumner, Myrtle Beach, SC, Jeff Sumner, Lawrenceville, GA; four sisters, Lois Ann Boyett and Kay Jernigan, of Claxton, Jean Terrell, Glennville, Connie Norton, Raleigh, NC; seven brothers, Earl, Jerry, and Wayne Boyett, of Reidsville, Gary and Floyd Boyett, of Claxton, Carl Boyett of Henderson, NC, Joe Neil Boyett of McDonough; five grandchildren, Tiffany and Brantley Nesmith, Brandon, Ryan and Jason Hudson.
Funeral: Blackville Church of God at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, with the Reverend Ashley Way officiating. Burial: Kea’s Cemetery, Emanuel County, with Sammons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 17 at the funeral home.

GARRISON, Robert N. "Bob" Garrison, age 72 of Dacula, GA died July 8, 2003.
He is survived by:
Wife of 47 years Jo Garrison
Daughter & Son-in-Law: Dena & Roger Henderson of Dacula
Son: David W. Garrison of Atlanta
Grandchildren: Keith & Bradley
Several Brothers & Sisters-in-Law and Nieces & Nephews.

Mr. Garrison was a U.S. Navy veteran, graduated from Georgia State College, was an Elder at Midway Presbyterian Church and in 1984 served as National President of AACA, where he also served on the AACA board for 16 years, and the AACA Library Board. He retired as branch manager of Burroughs Corporation.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Midway Presbyterian Church in Decatur, with Rev. Thomas Livengood & Rev. Woodrow McKay, Jr. officiating. Interment Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please send donations to AACA Library & Research Center or Midway Presbyterian Church cemetery Fund.

JOHNSTON: Mary Gladys Johnston, age 77 of Jasper, GA died November 23, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Johnston and daughter, Brenda Wofford, and is survived by, Daughter, Becky and Norman Mulkey of Jasper; Son, Franklin Preston Hewatt of Stone Mountain; Sister, Betty H. Jones of Savannah; Brother, Billy and Sharon Hembree of Albany; 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren; Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Mrs. Johnston a homemaker was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26 at 3pm at Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. Herman Mulkey officiating. Interment Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9pm and Wednesday from 9am until service time, at the funeral home.

DORTON: Arthur M. Dorton, Sr., age 84 of Scottdale, GA died Tuesday, November 25, 2003. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corp and was employed with Scottdale Mills for 43 years.

He is survived by Daughter and Son-in-law, Jean and Tom Stixrud of Rosman, NC; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Mac and Betty Sue Dorton of Lilburn, Rodney and Leslie Dorton of Monroe; Sister, Elizabeth Whiten of Decatur; Brother-in-law, Charles Bergmann of Morris Plains, NJ; Grandchildren, Paige and Randy Watkins of Newnan, Beth and Russell Hays of Dunwoody, Keith Dorton of Lilburn, Benjamin Dorton of Monroe, Hannah, Carol, Christina, Thomas, Joseph, and Mabel Stixrud of Rosman, NC; Great Grandson, Aaron Lewis Watkins of Newnan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29 at 10am at Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. Bill Bratley officiating. Interment Melwood Cemetery. BUCHANAN, Herman J. Buchanan, age 85 of Lawrenceville, GA died January 28, 2004.

Mr. Buchanan was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy A. Buchanan and son Harold. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and retired from Atlanta General Depot.

GULLICKSON, John Charles Gullickson, age 63 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004.
Mr. Gullickson was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 5, 1940. He is survived by Nancy, his loving wife of 38 years and his two children; Christy and Jay. John graduated from Georgia Tech in 1963 and attained his Law degree from Emory University in 1966. John served his country as an officer in the United States Navy stationed on the USS Blandy (DD-943) in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969. In 1969 he was stationed with the Manned Spacecraft Recovery Force where he received the Apollo Achievement Award for participation in Apollo 11's first landing on the moon. In 1972 he and Nancy settled into Lawrenceville. In 1976 he served on the board of directors of the United Way where he chaired the Gwinnett County United Way Advisory Committee for two years. In the 1980's he re-kindled his law career first as a Magistrate Judge of Gwinnett County for seven years then by opening his private law practice where he became a respected member of the legal community for almost 20 years.

Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 24, 2004, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Those desiring may make donations to The Children's Scholarship Fund, Hudgens Center for the Arts, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097, 770/623-6002.

PRITCHARD - Michelle Lyn Dawson Pritchard, age 24, of Dacula, GA, passed away April 16, 2004.
She was the wife of Kevin Pritchard and mother of Thomas Pritchard, age 5 and Jonathan Pritchard,

WISE, Helena F. Wise, age 59 of Doraville, GA, formerly of
Glasgow, Scotland, died July 20, 2004.
She is survived by:
Husband: Lloyd Wise
Son: Lloyd Scott Wise, Doraville
Sister: Mary Muir, Scotland
Brothers: James Muir, Scotland
John Muir, Scotland

Mrs. Wise came to America at the age of 18 and worked in Manhattan until she met her husband Lloyd. After they married in 1970 they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In 1975 they moved to the Atlanta area where she started Easy Does It Florist in Snellville and operated the business until Multiple Sclerosis made her unable to work any longer.

Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 29, at 4:00 P.M. at Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
